The administration dept at my office get together and get our boss a gift card to his favorite Harley store.

I just got a new job, so I'll have to work. Maybe there will be time for a few stops first.

I'm not faced with that yet since the kids are 10 and 1, but I think in the future each one will have a set limit. (Though, I will probably try to keep around the same number of gifts even if it's something from the dollar store)

I've had the turkey and ham. The turkey was just ok, but the ham is so yummy! I would highly recommend it. I haven't had any side items, so I can't help there.

I have a friend who decorated last week.

I can't remember how many I used last year, probably around the same number as you b/c we have a 7.5 foot tree. I run the lights vertically instead of around and around the tree. This is about 10 times easier to put on and especially take off, and gives the exact same look as wraping around and around. I don't wrap the lights all around every branch, but I do wrap aorund some (maybe about every 3rd or 4th). And I always plug the lights in while I'l putting them on so that I know exactly how it's going to look.

That's a great suggestion! Have any ideas for keeping a toddler out of your tree?

Absolutely! I usually do this for people that are hard to buy for. I'll pick something up for them then later question if it was a gift they'll really want. See something else, think it's better, pick that up also..... (Well, you see where this is going)

Speaking of lights, I have a great tip for putting lights on trees..... Instead of running them around and around the tree, put them on up and down. They look exactly the same and it's so much easier to put them on and take them off the tree. Also, if you have a strand that goes out, you can stand in one place to replace it instead of having to walk around and around the tree.
