  1. I know this forum is for deal discussion but I just have to throw this in. My BF and I went to 3 different Target stores today, all within 30 minutes of each other. The first one had a bunch of GB items left and all the domestics items were 75% off. The second one had a small endcap of GB items and employees were in domestics pulling stuff off the shelves. The same stuff that was 75% off at the first store but only 50% at the second store. The third store had 30% off domestics and they were packing up the GB items. I did get some good deals but I was amazed that 3 stores all in the same county had such differences in their prices.
  2. Question... do you have insurance on your phone and did you file a police report? I have Nextel and I dropped my phone in Barnes and Noble. The kids who found it started calling all the numbers in my phone list one of which was DH who was standing right next to me. I called Nextel, they shut down the phone, the police came and took a report and I had a new phone 2 days later for $30. The guy and I got to talking and he even waived the shipping fee and credited me for all my ringtones and screensavers.
  3. I was able to pick up 2 lamps from the GB section at Target last night. They started at $49.99/ea and they were 75% off !!!
  4. I had gotten one free with the coupon and was not impressed. They cannot be used with bleach and are not recommended for anything treated with flame retardant. So much for the commercial's claim that "its the only thing you'll need". I'll stick with my Tide.
  5. I'm here in NJ and our Target does sell the display furniture. They put a clearance sticker on it and everything. My BF and I had even inquired about a dresser they had and we were told that was the last one and if we wanted it they would get it down from the display for us. I always find it funny how policy for the same company varies from state to state and in some cases town to town.
  6. Same here. I go to the local WAWA and they let me buy a Sunday insert on Thursday when they get dropped off. I pay the price of a Sunday paper but its well worth it.
  7. My BF and I were in Target the other day looking at the wood & glass audio "pier" shelf. It was marked down to $32.xx. We asked the associate in the furniture area if she could scan it to make sure that the sticker price was correct. She lookod at it and told us that since it already had a second clearance sticker on it that was as low as it would go, next stop salvage. Just thought that was interesting.
  8. If you don't mind me asking, what is "Day Out With Thomas" ? My BF's son LOVES Thomas.
  9. I'm still waiting on the backpacks too. I checked last night and they were still only 30% off. They have a great selection and hopefully, (keeping my fingers crossed !!), they will go cheaper and I can pick them up for when school starts. I know that is a long way off but with 4 daughters it pays to tuck them away for later.
  10. Thats a great find !! The same one at my Target is only down to 50% off.
  11. I just got home from Target. Couldn't find a few of the things I was looking for but I made out on a couple of others. I picked up a womens turtleneck for 2.24, tan pants for 6.24, black silk pjs for 4.48, a kitchen aid sink caddy for 4.48, and a pair of womens white and black polaris hiking boots for 6.24. Not too bad.
  12. Thanks for this post, I went to my Target tonight and they had 1 red one for $19.98 !!! Finally I got one of these great deals, usually my Target never has any of the things that get posted here. I am sooo happy !!!!!!
  13. WOO HOO !!! Went to Target and finally the toys were marked down more than 30% off !!! I picked up the Fisher Price Spark Art Easel for $17, The Bratz Skating Rink with Doll for $12 (was $50), Barbie TMX Elmo for $4.98 (the one that people were paying $150 for on Ebay), and the large Doodle Bear w/ the bonus doodle puppy in the carrying bag for $6.98.
  14. I finally made it to Target today and.... nothing !! The only thing I was able to find was the method liquid soap for .29. The 5 aisles filled with clearance toys were only 30% off and the only thing left in the Xmas isle were candy canes and bags of bows. Oh well !
  15. A friend of mine bought one from a "items for sale ad" in a local paper. I was still in the box and about half price. If your not looking for a brand new one this might be an option, good luck !
  16. I also did not want to make anyone feel bad. I have tried, for the last 12 years and it does not matter. The funny thing is that the kids see what is going on and have pretty much avoided my MIL because of the way she treats them and me. At this point I could care less about gift receipts, if she would call and ask is all. It is downright mean and hurtful to get a size small shirt from someone who knows there is no way you could be a size small. It almost makes you wonder if they did it out of ignorance or to just be mean and it ticks me off to see my kids hurt.
  17. maybe that is why we are all sitting "here".
  18. I'm the same way, I always make the kids say thank you and hold doors etc. And yeas they do have to be courteous even when they hate / have the gift they got.
  19. Agreed 100%. My MIL brags about the kids but never invites them over or takes them out. She just cries to the rest of the family that I keep them from her. She has this image of each one of them that is way off base. As far as buying gifts for me she skips my birthday every year with the excuse that she doesn't do the adults anymore, only the kids and then throws in some words of wisdom that the adults are "old news". The real kicker is that she gets b-day presents for DH and his 3 siblings and their spouses. For christmas I either get something for DH tagged for the both of us or some piece of junk from the dollar store. I really would prefer that she buy nothing then something that I hate and she expects to see displayed in my home on the holiday.
  20. I have 4 daughters and have already told them that if I start to act like my MIL please shoot me. I get all the same things that everyone here is posting and then some. 2 years ago MIL bought a civil war book for "us". DH is a civil war buff so I guess that makes me one too. This year she gave my 10 year old DD a Bratz Genie !!! This kid is a tomboy to the extreme. She said thanks then traded it to her 12 year old sister who was given an EBGames gift card. My favorite was the look on my 16 year old DD's face when MIL gave her a pink sweater with a fur collar !! DD was into nothing but Hot Topic at the time and the whole way home kept shaking her head saying "it's pink!" over and over.
  21. It is the thought that counts. Its is the obvious lack of thought that bothers me. Like a size medium sweater for my DH (Her son !!!!). He is 5'11" tall and 215 lbs. He hasn't worn a medium since he was in his freshman year of high school. All the tags were ripped off and I did ask for any kind of receipt and she got so mad at me that no one in the family spoke to me for 6 months. Since then I don't even bother. It goes to Goodwill or I put it with the Christmas stuff and donate it to Toys for Tots the next year.
  22. I know how you feel juanadeal !! My in-laws, (MIL more so), are the same way. She NEVER asks what to get the kids or what they have then gives them toys they either have or don't want or that break. I don't even know where she gets them because she rips off every single tag !! Even on clothing !! and she doesn't even ask their sizes first !! I agree 100% with you about the gift receipts. I attach them to the actual receipt and set them aside. I let everyone know that I have them and would be more than happy to give them over if there are any problems with anything.
  23. If your not in a hurry Target usually puts them every other week or so. They offer 1 season at a time for as low as $20. The only problem is that 1 week they will have only season 6 on sale then 2 weeks later only season 3 on sale and so on. I have also seen them on sale at Best Buy and Circuit City for around the same price.
