  1. Not sure if anyone else is interested in the digital SLR bundles in a few of the adds....but Sears currently has the following bundle: Canon EOS Rebel T3 18-55IS 12.2 Megapixel Digital SLR Camera Kit $488.99 Canon Lens (EF75-300mm) for All SLR Canon Cameras $199.99 TOTAL: 688.98 LESS 150.00 instant rebate TOTAL: 538.98 This is less than the 579.99 bundles come Black Friday. I used instore pickup to save on shipping. If you put both items into the cart, the $150.00 savings is automatically applied.
  2. We have had great success with Apple Products. We have four kids aged 9,7,6, and 5. Last year we got all of them Apple Ipod Touches for Christmas as one very big gift. We got them direct from Apple from their certified refurbished department. They had just released the latest version with Cameras and that really didn't matter to our kids. I believe we paid $150 for them each. They have been the best gift. The kids use them a ton and all four are working well. Whats nice about Apple and the Itunes is that any app we have purchased can be put on all four touches as well as my wife and I's iphones. So the .99 Angry Birds was able to be put on all the devices for the .99 cents. Our kids have a ton of education apps. They also have in many ways replaced the need for the Nintendo DS as they now sit collecting dust. My wife has a touch as well and I have both an original Nano as well as larger 30 GB ipod and all of these devices continue to work to this day.
  3. I was able to get a Silver one at my local Radio Shack for 89.97 + tax. I asked the guy at checkout if other stores had them in our area (Cleveland) and there were quite a few available around town. Good luck everyone.
  4. Not sure if you know, but Radio Shack has the DS Lite for 89.97 or 97.47 depending on the color. Not every Radio Shack in my area had them, but the second one I called did have a silver one and I paid 89.97. I asked the guy to see if any other stores had them and quite a few did. I was happy to get this ahead of Friday.
  5. for anyone wondering, the boxes from apple are white, and at the very top of the box, they say Apple Certified Refurbished. They are like new otherwise. Five Below is a great place for accessories if you have them in your area.
  6. Our girls love Justice as well. They almost always run the 40%. When it stops, you can use your Justice Bucks. 40% is running right now I belive through the 18th. Sign up for the email club and you will get a daily email. We bought half of our stuff for Christmas already. We will then go back with our bucks to get the other half. If you are smart, you can use the bucks to get 50% 0ff or so. Also, we have had alot of luck lately at Marshalls finding Hoodie and Sweats Justice outfits. Each piece ran 12.99. We got each of our girls two sets. They have alot of this stuff in the stores now and the girls will never know the difference.
  7. we have both the PS3 and the Wii. We have four kids but our oldest son is 8 and he plays the most video games. He actually sets his alarm ealierand makes his bed, gets dressed, gets his breakfast all by 7:00 AM to give himself 30 minutes to play lol. At any rate, I would go with a PS3 or Xbox. The Wii is a fun family activity but to be honest, ours sits and collects dust mostly. If your son is into sports games (like ours), then he will be prefer either of the other two systems. Plus with both Xbox and Sony now coming out with a "movement" based options, I see Wii sales falling hard. The Wii does have a huge advantage in games, but its only a matter of time before the others catch up. The Blueray player on the PS3 is what helped sell us as well.
  8. We purchased three of the refurbished ones from the Apple online store. These are for our younger kids 6-7-8 and will be fine for them. They carry the same warranty as a new one from Apple and the kids could care less. On a side note, in my business I have purchased many a refurbished cell phone from Verizon and you would be hard pressed to know these are refurbished. They come with all the accessories and are in new condition. I would recommend this route for anyone who is looking to replace a damaged phone or needs a new before their contract is up.
  9. its funny, we had the same debate. We have four kids...4,5,6 (girls) and 8 boy. My wife has a touch and all of the kids have played with it extensively. Definitely get a rubberized sleeve for it. Ours has been dropped and such and we haven't had any issues. We are big fans of the Apple Refurbished stuff....it carries the same warranty as new and you will never be able to tell the difference. We have debated the $149 touch versus the $99 Nano versus the new touch screen Nano. Everyone has cheap MP3 players for car rides and such and they have kept those working. All but the youngest has a DS and have kept those working. They take care of their stuff and we are on them to put them back in cases and keep them where they won't lose them. We are getting each of the one larger present this year and we have had this very debate. The oldest wants a touch so our local bank ran a promo where you got a free one with a new account. His is done. We then debated getting one for the 5 and 6 year olds. We went back and forth between the two nano's and a touch. For 50 bucks difference, they get the ability to play games. We have a huge library of games already and will be able to load them onto all of the Touches. Plus with them having all played with my wife's, and the 8 year old getting it, it just made sense. We ordered two of the refurbished ones. The youngest is finally getting a DS as she plays with her siblings all the time. For those worried about the internet....its quite simple....don't let them surf. If you run a secure network, there ipod's won't work unless you let them. If our kids want online, they need to do it at the family computer. Our kids will use it for games and for music and every time we buy an app or music, we will now be able to put it onto four players. Best of luck in whatever each of you decides.
  10. Five below is great for video game accessories as well as ipod stuff. We also loaded up on craft stuff for our girls. Its a good way to get them a bunch of stuff for not alot of cash.
  11. The free shipping can be helpful....my mom usually handles all the American Girl Doll Stuff for my three girls (4,5 & 6). Needless to say she ends up spending north of $500 bucks on stuff for their dolls when its all said and done and the free shipping often ends up saving 10%. That being said, I recommend looking at Michael's or at the Madame Alexander clothes (Walmart, Target, & Toys R Us).....its a great way to add many more outfits for far less cost....this can be especially helpful when starting out. Most 18" Doll clothing works great with the American Girl stuff....we save the American Girl Doll boxes and put them clothes in them....the girls never know the difference and have a blast with them. Each of our girls has a larger plastic container to keep their stuff in and the play with this stuff alot.
  12. Anybody actually talk to CS and/get a response from them?
  13. ditto.....its not wonder they are struggling so much. A fair response might have been to notify us of the error and then continue to honor it. That would have surely brought me to spend more money there in the future. Sometimes corporations cannot see the forest through the trees.
  14. I say Kudos to Walmart for addressing the problem. Anything that brings some order and a consistent plan has to be better than mass chaos. Maybe its just me, but the way I look at it, allowing you only one really hot item such as a TV or Laptop makes sense, it spreads around the super deals to more people. I can decide what I really want and make that my priority. It may also allow me more time with my family on Thanksgiving. While some may feel they are getting "screwed", this allows more people to "win" in the end. How can that be wrong during the Holiday season? And frankly, if you are paying attention around here, the deals all year long are just as good. Good luck everyone.
  15. For what its worth....toys r us has these....asking 59.99. They aren't in stock often and the same people who are grabbing all the Zhu Zhu's for ebay are grabbing these. That being said, they can often be found on www.mattel.com. They are asking a bit more than TRU but far less than the ebayers. You might try the Mattel site if you really want this and don't mind paying a little extra. Good luck.
  16. Yes, I did. Just now at 3:30 PM EST. Came to $269.36 shipped....best buy wants $362 for the same package. Seemed like a good deal.
  17. I recently ordered roses for an anniversary to the tune of 80 bucks and it came with a happy birthday balloon. They refunded half of my money. Luckily we had a good laugh but I was pissed. I have never had a problem with 1800 flowers. You can find their link through paypal. I would keep fighting it though.
  18. Good find. Just ordered that through customer service as well. Had it shipped to my office free as well. Thanks!!
  19. I own this and love it. It will charge your IPOD and can be wired directly or you can use the FM transmitter.....if you can find this for those low prices its a great adder for IPOD gifts....everyone who gets in my car loves playing with it.
  20. Hi everyone, I just returned our Wii bundle yesterday and yes you can return only the portions you don't want. At any rate, I can confirm that many Walmart's will have them on December 6th. The North Olmsted Ohio store will be getting 30. I hope this helps those of you looking for it.
  21. Sony 46" projection LCD KDF46E2000 .....899.97 Toshiba 42" Plasma 424P66....999.97 Panasonic 5)' Plasma TH50PX60U......1699.97 Hitachi 51" Projection CRT 51F59 .....599.97 Also, 20% off anything over $299.00. www.hhgregg.com
  22. For those of you wondering, I purchased the first Walmart bundle that was 533.46 that included Wii Console Package, Wii Sports, Extra Wii Remote Controller, Wii Nunchuck, Wii Points Card, and four games (Call of Duty 3, Madden NFL 07, Need for Speed Carbon, and Legend of Zelda). They do in fact invoice for each item and you can return any portion of the bundle. My plan is to return the whole bundle and wait for PS3 after trying the Wii that another here at our office purchased. I hope this info helps those on the fence, you can in fact return the portions of the bundles that you do not need and keep those that you want.:)
