  1. I did all of the install except the wiring to my factory s standard auxillary input. A local car radio installer did it, cost me less than 50 bucks with the cable and I was in and out in under a half hour.....Best Buy should be able to do the install fairly easily. I hope this helps.
  2. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7730066&ref=39&loc=01&st=harman+kardon+ipod&type=product&id=1140392383763 I just wanted to let people know that this product works well and it is a very good deal. I have had this for months and paid $199.00 for it at Best Buy. The interface is slick, makes using your ipod in the car very easy. It will also charge you IPOD. Installation was farily easy and there a few different ways to connect to your car stereo including simply through a radio. It would make a nice gift. :)
  3. Take this with a grain of salt, but this is what I was told at a higher end electronics store when purchasing our Plasma TV last year at this time as we were building a new home with integrated audio/visual throughout. I am going on memory here.....but alot of it will also depend on the environment for the TV....ie, light from windows, viewing angles, and the like. If you are putting the TV in a basement, LCD or DLP would be well suited for those technologies. You will also find that the same money will buy you a larger screen versus Plasma. LCD is actually a fairly old technology. Some of the LCD/DLP TVs do employ bulbs that will need to be replaced after so many viewing hours. Plasma is well suited to well lit environments as they do not reflect light like the LCDs. They also lend themselves better to be mounted on walls. As for burn in, some of the concern might lie in say a video game being left on, but many of the newer TVs employ technology that will sense this and prevent. I really recommend you go and talk with some at a best buy or circuit city. While not selling really high end equipment, the men and women working there know there stuff and will be a good source to help you decide what it best for you. I am in the market for a LCD/DLP this year for our basement rec room.....hoping to get something at least the same size as my LG Plasma and hopefully larger and not real picky as to brand or technology. TV for the kids in their playroom and something I don't mind watching the football game on.
  4. Here in Ohio, they had alot of Durabrand and other electronics piled high, often 30 or more.....so you very well may be right.....they seem like the perfect things for my 2.5 year old.....hoping they drop the current prices on the cd boom box (19.95) and the dvd/vcr combo (49.95) on BF as my little one loves loading and starting these things on her own. I get a little short with her when she starts trying to fool with daddy's Denon equipment.
  5. If you are in the market for the Sony Liv electronics, Target had most of them at 50% off......cd radios, wireless speaker systems, etc. Make some nice presents for Christmas. We have some of that line of stuff already and it is quite nice. FYI.
  6. Thanks for all the great info. I have had some great luck with the red tag items. About a month ago I found Tide HE Detergent, 200 OZ bottles down to $6.48, I bought all eight bottles they had on the shelf.....they were releasing the 300 oz bottles at 18 bucks so I was pretty pumped. Anyways....thanks for all the good hints and if I come accross something, I will let you know.
