  1. For those that want one that is wireless and ready to go... Best Buy this morning has a samsung BD-P3600 on sale for 229.99... (was 299.99).... free shipping....
  2. same thing here at work... I say "good morning, (insert co-worker's name)" .... most at least mumble "morning" back... but one in particular looks me dead in the face and keeps walking... I don't get it... but I keep doing it anyway.... makes me feel like I tried and if she's going to ignore me than maybe it will annoy her that I don't stop....
  3. I just got a card for 15% off with Kohl's card in the mail yesterday and it's good on BF.. I hope you get one also I use my Capital One Visa for all electronic purchases because it adds the extra year of warranty on for free also. I will take my cash and my Visa... if a store has electronics I will use the Visa... then take that much out of my cash and lock it in my car so I know it goes to the bank the next morning so I can pay the Visa online as soon as it posts...
  4. I am wondering if this is an exception for the big ticket items that are like "5 per store" and things like that? I haven't looked at the griddle at Kohl's, but I know alot of their things had rebates and walmart won't match the price after the rebate ... but rather the price before.... just in case it has that on there, wanted to let you know. Also... the problem with PM'ing on BF is you want a more experienced cashier..the ones hired as temp holiday help many times don't understand or know how to do the PM (at least in our area) and young is ok except remember they are not used to being awake, let alone functional at 4 or 5 in the morning.... sometimes they are the grumpiest ones there.... it's a vacation from high school or college and the mean manager forced them in at 3 am for the blitz.. and they are not always happy to do anything that morning...
  5. Saw this one at walmart yesterday... it says "wireless ready"... but what does it need to be wireless ready? do you know?
  6. Me too!!! the parents and in laws are usually the hardest to buy for but I picked up those gifts last night... Now my sister and her family are half done.... and my oldest DD/SIL are half done But I know what I am getting for everyone but my sister and her hubby... just waiting on the right deals to come along ... Tonight and tomorrow is wrapping time while the men and boys are in the woods hunting
  7. Well in my family we only exchange with my one sister... I don't care to even see the rest of the family ... so she and I do kinda spoil each other's kiddos.... we don't have a limit... but we do go out of our way to get the kiddos things they enjoy.... due to my deal shopping all year round sometimes my neices get extras.... but they have a small family on their dad's side too so they enjoy it..... In my husband's family we used to buy for all of them.... but finally we got large enough that we draw adult names and kids names for gift exchanges.... we have a 25-30 dollar limit for adults and 10-15 for kids... at age 18 they go from kid to adult... unless it's a teen with a child of their own and having your own child makes you go to the adult exchange too.... It's easier... more economical... and all around still fun for the kids to get together for a pitch in meal... hang out and then exchange gifts.... The one thing I don't like is sometimes I spend less than I am supposed to .. like one year I got a 60.00 toy for 7.00 at a clearance sale... and it was just what my nephew would love.... and I asked his parents and they said not to get anything else with it... it was huge... lots of parts... and he has a brother so the toys pile up quick anyway.... but I had other family members mad that "she obviously went over the limit"... and basically saying I was a show off, etc... and I hadn't spent as much as I was supposed to... now who gets mad if you get too good of a deal? Of course that particular relative doesn't get mad if I have her kids names.... only if I have someone else's.... one of those But it works for us.... and I think the kids look more forward to the food than the gifts.... and several of the kids in the exchange have birthdays within a month of Christmas anyway.... so it seems to make the birthdays more special to them when they aren't on present overload from Christmas still....
  8. My husband is getting boxers and gift cards to subway (only quick place to eat in the town he works in) and starbucks (there's one at the casino he works at)..... the gift cards are 25 dollars each, but they were free from surveys and points I earned online.... He expects the boxers.. but I do something different to go in with them each year (everyone in our house gets new undies and/or socks in the stocking every year)... and for candy I'll get a couple small bags of the SF Russell Stovers and some of the gum he likes for work....
  9. nutcrackers here too :) Love them and I am fortunate to have two fireplaces with huge mantels so I have plenty of places to display them all nicely.. I have about 50 and of course looking for more all the time :)
  10. I say since we are both in Indiana we write to the governor and see if he will sign us excuse notes for work if we promise to spend all of our BF money in Indiana
  11. kids still at home ... done grandkids... done... 3 times already hubby.. .needs one more gift that should be on sale on BF daughter/son in law... I know what they are getting, currently looking for a sale work .. done hubby's work... done sister/family... still need ideas for the adults... kids just need gifts picked up friends/other family... 70% done and know what I am lookign for deals on... hoping to get some wrapping done while I am waiting on more BF ads to find my deals :)
  12. Do you work with me? We had the same type meeting this morning... with the same end result.. I will NOT be working... I have to do my part stimulate the economy
  13. Congrats winners!!! And don't forget if any of us find new favorite recipes then we are all winners too ... :)
  14. Well... I don't think the three boys here (ages 12, 12, 13) and hubby are gonna let them out the door... I am not sure they will make it through the night... I will tell ya they are easy and delicious... will be making them again.... soon is what I hear through my little grapevine... lol I thank the original poster of this... kellane26
  15. Very cute.... the folgers one has always been a fave of mine... but since diet dr pepper is what I drink.... I think I am loving this new one more :) My 13 year old son and I are home alone and he likes it too
  16. when all 5 of ours were at home, we lived in a very small house and there was no room to store very many gifts... so all got wrapped and put under the tree as we wrapped them... we told them all not to tell their friends because Santa only had room in his sleigh for 2 gifts per kid because there are so many kids in the world.... so as the elves get done with gifts, he delivers them early to houses where the kids are so good they get more than that.... but if they peek then Santa would take them back and no more would arrive.... They always believed us... we only have 1 believer left and he actually lives with his mom and step dad so he just thinks that since he has two families it's nice for santa to bring him twice as much and the other house has gifts for the sleigh and our house gets them early cause his little sister and brother might open them if he took them there early instead .... .he just believes that and is okay with it.... Just do your best.... and the magic is there and it will be fine :)
  17. WOW! That's how our family treats the only Steelers fan in the family.... j/k.... we cheer Colts first and Steelers would be our next in line but so used to giving my BIL a hard time for being a huge Steelers fan that I can't help it.... lol.... actually broke his heart when I converted his only son to say "Go COLTS" and beg for a Colts jersey at age 7... hehe:yup:
  18. Got these in the oven now... they smell DELICIOUS can't wait to eat them... Thanks for posting... very easy :)
  19. Yep I see that happen every year.... pushing, shoving, rudeness, and taking things out of the cart.. even seen people that "stalk" shoppers that might leave the cart for a sec so they can grab what they want.... If I have something that is in short supply, my sister or I one will keep a close eye on our cart.... I've been known to pick up somethign really heavy I don't want and lay it across the cart so they can't get in it and run .... just to be sure
  20. don't HAVE to go PLEASE PLEASE don't tell that to my husband... k? Let's just keep that as our little secret
  21. Last year I did mine the weekend before and I was glad I did... I had longer to enjoy the decorations.. more time to spend doing it because my DGD was born Nov 30... so the week of Thanksgiving is busy at work because it's a 3 day week and cooking for Thursday... running on Thursday, shopping on Friday.. birthday party over the weekend.... so it feels nice to get it done slowly and on my time schedule the weekend before... I told hubby that with all our overtime at work I might bring the nutcrackers up from the basement 2 weeks before and then the tree the week before this year.... Plus I like to have them down and packed up before the boys birthdays (Jan 5 and 14) so this way I get to enjoy them plenty long before they have to go back to storage for the rest of the year :)
  22. our kids are 10, 12, 13, 16, and 21... the 10 year old doesn't SAY he doesn't believe... but he took Santa gifts to another house and said "look what mom and dad got me"... I quickly said 'oh that one was from Santa'... he gave me a strange look so I don't know if he's on the fence or what.... probably be able to tell this year. My 21 year old believed till she was 10 and informed me about how crazy I was one day for believing... she really thought I believed .. and I do The 16 year old has NEVER asked for anything she wanted.. she's of the mind frame that her parents should just KNOW what she wants... birthdays, at the store, etc... even if she has her own money we should know what store she wants to go to and she gets extremely upset if we don't guess correctly.. if we try to pin her down and make her tell us... she tells us what she thinks we want to hear.... anyway..... Santa let her down... twice and at age 8 she told us if he was real she would have gotten what she wanted.... we tried the "but you didn't ask" thing and got nowhere ... because she politely said that if he can fly, he can read minds too. Now the 12/13 year old boys had their own discussion about it when they were in 2nd and 3rd grade... DS12 was 7 and DS13 was 8.. the younger one decided that reindeer can't really fly, etc... all this based on the older one asking what he thought because a bigger kid on the bus told him he was a baby to believe... so I told them to believe whatever they wanted to believe and that other boy better be really good to make up for saying such a mean thing.... and I heard them talking and the older one said based on reindeer can't fly he must not be real... the younger boy says but he COULD use a helicopter.... 2 weeks before Christmas the boys had to go to the eye doc.... one of the docs was in the toy area (walled off with a 5-6 foot wall from the rest of the waiting area.... turns out Santa had an earphone in and when the child went in, the receptionist had a radio and she questioned the parents about what the kid would be doing, his name, teacher's name, etc.... and she could hear what he was talking to the kid about.... I guess he questioned good ole Santa... he came out of there... said Man I am glad you brought me here today... cause I wasn't gonna get anything for saying he wasn't real.. but he must be cause he even knows a guy that goes to our church! That bought us another 2 years but to this day they don't know how "santa" at the eye doctor was so smart
  23. I like it!!! We have an older home with really tall ceilings. In our bedroom there is a small closet and above it is a huge "cabinet"... not sure but it was basically just to close in from the top of the closet to the ceiling... inside is about 10 feet wide, 4 feet high and 3 feet deep.... even my hubby at 6 feet tall has to use a step ladder to get into this storage spot..... so I just put everything in boxes... (I keep a cheat sheet and number the boxes so I know which one I am looking for if some need arises to get something out early) and stack them up there.... it's huge and holds almost all the gifts for all 5 kids, 2 grandkids, and extended family. On the years we overflow... I make sure we overflow on things for the extended family/friends so that there is no chance the kids can find their things.
  24. I don't remember if you can share with 4 other people or if it's 4 total... but either 4 or 5 .. at which point it's definitely worth it for not only 2 day shipping guaranteed every time, but to not have to hit a certain total to get the free shipping....
