What Freebies have you NOT received?
jbdinos replied to Kara1204's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
Here's another question about the freebies that don't come.... anyone think their mailman keeps them sometimes? I know someone that lives close to me and we sign up for same things and I get a lot more than she does.... -

I don't keep track of the things I sign up for. Perhaps I should. I usually just remember the things I really really want that never show up. For instance, the dimple in the dimple golf balls never arrived, so I knew lots of people got them so I resigned up today. And I was looking forward to a PSP demo game for my 2 DS (ages 10 and 11) but it never came either. I am sure there are lots of things that don't come but some do seem late. I just started a few months ago too and I had given up on the hamburger helper and boom there it was yesterday. And I signed up for the lucky floral tote bag with the Derek Jeter UPC's and it arrived in less than one week. My DD19 said "What an awesome purse" and she took it... her DH said "what an ugly suitcase"... ROFL... Anyone else get the PSP demo games? I went ahead and signed up for the 2nd one but not gonna look forward to it this time. -
Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2007

No, not kidding, it's one month at a time. DH set it up, do you do yours as an auto payment from the bank? I wonder if that could be the difference, like whether they are mailing you a bill and you have to go pay it when you get it compared to it just getting deducted automatically for us? -

We have XM radio and we get charged monthly by electronic funds transfer. They have never billed us more than a month at a time. -

I also enjoyed seeing the coupons discussed here with the clearance as I have always shopped clearance only (DD19 used to always say I wouldn't bring home anything, not even a stick of butter, without a red tag on it). But I didn't know the hows and how nots of using coupons till I started reading this target forum... I thought coupons weren't for me and so I wouldn't have went to the coupon forum until after I got started. After all of the good ideas here I have been racking up the free or nearly free shampoo, toothpaste and deodorant. DD13 doesn't care what kind of deodorant she has, she loves to have something new all the time so she is in heaven now.... DS10 and DS11 love that they get new toothpaste all the time... I say... you gotta love gotta deal.... So my target is an hour away so I only go once every 3 weeks or so simply because my kids are into too many sports for me to go more often. But when I go, I take all the recent suggestions and coupon ideas from here and get cool stuff... thanks to all of you I saved coupons I normally wouldn't have and have gotten things on clearance at target cheaper than my manu coupons..... DD19 was happy with her "fancy" shampoo in her Easter basket too.. So I wish we could all discuss the coupons as before.... -

Coupon code for LTD Commodities
jbdinos replied to sugarkristals's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
www.lakesidecollection.com is the same thing as LTD but they charge the shipping to you up front so no matter how many boxes come, you get the one shipping price... as you shop it even says in your cart ("You can order X.xx more for no additional shipping") So you always know when you can get an item without more shipping if there is something you are just thinking about. -
Looking for a current deal on Heely shoes. My DS is 7 and wants his first pair. He is very tiny so we need a youth size. THanks!

Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2007
jbdinos replied to 1angelnhvn's topic in Offline Hot Deals
Well, as far as appearing to be a shoplifter, I don't care cause I know I have never done that. That wasn't the issue. This man was CREEPY. He kept squeezing between my cart and kids and basically that left him rubbing against the cart and/or the kids each time. I actually wondered if he got his kicks from little boys or if he was trying to get to my purse to steal from me. Our target they just wear a red shirt and a name tag, for all I know he found a name tag and wasn't really an employee. In this day and age one cannot be too careful. To watch me is fine, I have invited them to help me shop in the past... but to act all creepy and keep getting close to my purse and my children is past not being discreet and goes straight to being either a potential thief or pervert. -

When I buy things at Target and the coupon is more it just goes through. Sometimes it doesn't even beep, but if it does they just hit the key on the register to send it on through. Same thing at walmart when I buy a clearance item and the coupon makes it free. However, I did get a copy from corporate of their "coupon policy" and it says that in the case of a coupon exceeding the purchase price that they will adjust the coupon to give you the item free. So the people getting 68 cent granola bars, according to policy they should be taking off a 68 cent coupon instead of the 1.00 coupon. So I would do is call corporate and complain about paying the 1.80. Although that is a good deal, it's not what policy says they will do. Who knows, maybe they will give you a 2.00 coupon to use in store next time. Worth a try. -

If I had a stroller or a baby seat I would have understood. I have worked retail and I know a lot of people that brought empty car seat covered in blankets and used them to steal. But the kids with me were 10, 11, and 13. Definitely walking on their own.. lol I tried saying to him "We don't need any assistance, we are just shopping." But he seemed to find that humorous so I sent my 10 year old to ask him if they sold Bibles thinking he would get the hint. I even mentioned to my sister that you would think he could be more discreet and pretend to be straightening the endcaps or aisles or something... so he went and got a hand scanner and checked all the prices where we were at constantly. LOL... at least we gave him something to do. But the more I think about it the more that I think I may call the corporate office... I mean, you never know, employee or not he could have been trying to take something out of my purse when I was turning my back to the shelving units..... one just never knows these days. -

jbdinos replied to 1angelnhvn's topic in Offline Hot Deals
I don't find it selfish at all. I would have done the same thing. My closest target is nearly an hour drive. My sister and I went there today, solely to try to do the same thing. Now, I just can't bring myself to use the expired coupons. I specifically wrote to target and their reponse didn't indicate either way if I could do that or not. It seemed they were avoiding the answer. But I did get 5 of the granola bars today and I didn't feel badly to do that simply because my kids are going to eat them. I got several boxes of the Target brand tampons. But I know that I am young enough that not only will they not go to waste, but I have two daughters, a granddaughter and someday I will have three daughter in laws. That isn't counting the neices, sister, etc. that I have. My husband and I got married and we have 5 children (none belong to both of us biologically) and we are totally supporting them all. Do you know what it costs to feed 5 kids with no child support and neither of us have a college education? It's expensive. So if I save a lot of money on toothpaste, tampons, etc. well then I shouldn't feel guilty and neither should anyone else. The only potential abuse I see is the expired coupons, but if they get tired of it they could train their employees to check the coupons. I think I had a great day when I buy a 1.38 tube of clearance toothpaste and use a 1.50 coupon on it. They don't adjust the price, but the coupon manufacturer is going to give them 1.50, not ask what the selling price was. That is not cheating anyone. Those that find the deals adn stock up... go for it..... there were no kotex or lightbulbs or Easter at the store I went to... I didn't whine about it... I was "oh well, someone beat me to it".... I did finally find one pack of the MM juice for 69 cents too. That was my major excitement for the day... On another story, which reminds me of a poster a while back that talked about a nightmare she had about security following her. Well me, my sister, and three of my kids were shopping. We'd stop at clearance, look through coupons, decide value as well as nutritional facts on food (both on diets) and then move to the next clearance endcap. This guy that worked there was following us from H&B to grocery to automotive to electronics. We finally made him speak to us to show him we weren't shoplifters and even then he just kept it up. We'd ask where things were and he wasn't being discreet. We nearly called management. My purse was open but I had a ziploc bag full of coupon envelopes in the bag and kept referring to those envelopes with each purchase. The kids would scan items and bring them back to tell us the prices and from there they went in the cart or back where they came from, no ditching them or anything. It was a horrible experience to know that because we were doing the coupons/clearance thing that we were "suspect". Does this happen to anyone else when they are shopping in their target? -
Where is the best place for price and quality to get pool chemicals for an above ground pool? We moved just before Thanksgiving and our new home has a pool and we don't know much about taking care of them and we need to know where to get good chemicals and hopefully get a good deal on them. ANyone with experience that wants to give us tips on opening, cleaning, etc it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

My oldest DD loved watching wizard of oz so much that when McDonald's came out with the new Happy Meal toys came out I immediately started trying to collect them. Somehow they started really fast and I missed toy #2, Glinda the good witch. In my quest I have ended up with 3 extra toys (2 of the tin man and 1 of the wicked witch). I would trade all three of these for one of the good witch if anyone has her. Thanks!

What to get my son for his 9Th Birthday???
jbdinos replied to jarerice's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
The Wii keeps them moving and involved with others or alone too. If you go with that just go ahead and get a second controller because they really need to keep the wrist strap on at that age and it sucks having to trade it back and forth, esp in bowling... I am not a big fan of video games, but my DH is so of course our kids have them all it seems. Especially in the summer I would rather them go outside and get exercise (I voted for the trikke for that reason) BUT on rainy days and in the winter he will need something to do inside and the Wii at least keeps their butts off the couch and moving a little bit. My two oldest boys are 10 and 11 and my husband has a Wii and they put their bday $$ from relatives together and got a PSP to share. But they would be equally excited to get any of the things from that list. Doesn't matter what you pick, you cannot go wrong. Good luck and have fun! -

The really bad thing is if the kids get clothes that don't fit or two of a toy or movie. So many gifts don't come with receipts and we have one relative that would have their feelings hurt if we even suggested that our size 14 boys don't wear a size 10 just because she thinks it looks like it's "cut kinda big". Hopefully she won't shop at Target or they will at least relax it right after Christmas when so many people get gifts with no receipts. -
Thanks a bunch.. I got both of them for Easter...

If you go to http://www.softballfans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=284207 a guy has a set with extra games and all for only 425 and that includes shipping it to you. Or you may be able to make him an offer. If we didn't already luck into one at a walmart close to us we would have went with this one ourselves but we certainly don't need two of them or I would never get to watch TV.... lol....

go to www.softballfans.com click on forums and then go to garage sale. Then if you register and post what you need someone there usually has something. If you can't figure it out, pm me and I will have my husband get in contact with you. Hope this helps. Our 10 year old catches and last year (age 9) we got him his first catching equipment. We did get it new at Dicks because they had an awesome sale and he is big for his age so we got the 12 year old set. But after 3 or 4 practices they look just like the used ones and our son was more comfortable in it at the end of the season so if I had it to do over I probably would get the used ones right away if I could get a deal on them.
