You could maybe get one of the deals on Saveolgy or one of the others that are for $25 Target/or Walmart gift card with $50 Restaurant.com gift card and the movie tickets 2/12 from Savemore.com. They could have a night out to dinner/movie and p/u something at the store. I will be doing this for someone.

Ipod touch, Nook, or Kindle for 9 and 10 year olds
racerfan replied to khkabowski's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
The 8gb Ipod touch goes for about $199 unless you can get a deal with a gift card etc. The Nook and Kindle start of at around $79.00 Nook and Kindle are ereaders for reading books only, unless you go up to the Nook Tablet or the Kindle Fire which are tablets they can read on (not e-ink but a lcd screen) Both of those tablets do not have cameras. the tablets are $249 for the Nook Tablet and $199 fo rthe Kindle Fire. The Ipod touch has a camera. -
I will pass it on its not an Xmas present they just have not gotten around to my house to pick it up. Hopefully this weekend. Thanks for letting us know.

Anyone not receive items that the packing list says are there?
racerfan replied to bradleysphone's topic in 2011
I received a package yesterday (not from BB but Buy.com) I ordered 2 wall mounts for 42 and above tvs Only got 1 in the box. They way they questioned me you would think I was lying to them. They have sent out a replacement for me though -
I was able to pick up a M-Edge one on BF when they were 50% off at BB. Worked out to a little over $12. That was for the Kindle Touch. I also ordered one on BB.com for the Kindle 3G/Wifi I picked up at Target. That one worked out to a little over $17. I also found another cover clearanced out for my Nook. All 3 of them use the iluminator light from M-edge, slides into a cutout in cover and stays there for when I need it.

The Kindle Fire sounds great. It all depends on what you plan on using it for. If only as an ereader then I would go with a regular Kindle or Nook e-ink reader, which are the ones you have no problem reading on in bright sunlight. If you want something that can search the web (more like a portable computer) then the Kindle Fire could be a way to go or even a Nook tablet at $50 more. I was going to get the Fire had it on pre-order and was doing as much research as possible. I decided not to go with the Fire but with a regular tablet for 3 main reasons. Fire only has 8gb of memory (yes you can store content in the cloud) but you have to have wifi to access the cloud and when we are on the road we sometimes don't have wifi until we reach where we are staying or stop at say a McDonalds. 8gb is really not a lot of space to store a lot of movies for long trips etc. You cannot increase the memory on the fire by adding a SD or microSD card to it. The Fire does not have a camera. The nook is very similar to the Fire but you can increase the memory on the Nook Tablet and also on the Nook ereaders. I ended up getting a 10" tablet with all those things for $20 more for my DD who the Fire originally was for. If in the future Amazon updates or introduces another version of the Fire with those things included I will be first in line. The Fire has the capability to stream movies via Amazon and that is something that I do quite frequently. ON top of that customer service at Amazon is great. I would suggest that you go on Amazon and check out the forum and see what people are saying about the Fire, there have been many posts saying that people were returning it due to my concerns above, there are also many people who absolutely love it. I would also research other tablets (if tablets is the way you want to go) and see what they have to offer. I purchased the Acer Iconia A500 16gb and the Asus Transformer 16gb for my two kids. Both were deals that I got on Black Friday. Yesterday BestBuy had up the Acer Iconia 8gb for $229 with a $10 gift card so that would make it $30 more than the Fire. I am sure there will be other deals coming up or that one may come back in stock. If you have any other questions ask away. I hope I was able to help you.

I got this for DD13. She is getting quite a few sock monkey things -
I would love one of these. My bed is already 18" thick and I have such a hard time finding sheets to fit it. Most fit exact to 18" and when I wash them they are too small to put back on:( If anyone knows where to get bigger sheets please let me know then I will be at the store getting this:D

I disagree about the Nook I have had it for a year. I had a problem once and was able to take it into a Barnes and Noble and the fixed the problem. That being said I just picked up a Kindle also since I have downloaded to my laptop over 200 free books, but have n where to read them:D Both devices have their pros and cons. A big plus in the favor of the Nook is that you can expand the memory if need as well as you can change the battery if something happens to the one that comes with it. You do not have to send it in for repair like you do with the Kindle. A friend had a problem with her battery and had to send it in for them to fix. I don't know if Amazon will continue to replace batteries was they wear out because eventually they will. My friends was still under the warranty, so they emailed her a shipping label and she sent it in and received it back in a little over a week. Yes the kindle does have excellent service but the Nook is not as bad as some people have been saying. There are also many complaints against amazon customer service also. All depends on who you talk to. All I can say is if you DH reads alot and buys a lot of books then I would go with the device that can he can increase storage with. If he is like me and only borrows books then either the Nook or the Kindle will work fine for him. I have the Nook w/wifi only and have not had a problem with travelling and getting a wifi spot. I just bought the Kindle keyboard with 3g/wifi with special offers that Target had for $85 (price was the deciding factor) so I will be trying it out also. I also just bought for my DD13 the Kindle Touch wifi with special offers for her for Xmas. She picked that one because it was a touch and none of her friends had it lol. She also chose the Kindle because that is what her friends have just a different version. I may end up getting her a Nook also since again she has books for the Nook to read but only her computer to read on. Whichever you choose he is going to love it as a reader. I love reading on an ereader

We had quite a few kids in our group. Most were in the 13 year old age group. The younger ones went in the cars to sleep, or to homes that were close by. My DD13 slept for a while in her chair outside then went to the truck and slept some more. On the whole all the kids with us did great. There were also quite a few other people out with their kids but they were not out there as long as we were.

Same thing happened to us. TazErase had a sign in sheet for the first 50 people, so you could put down who was going to be in your group. That caused problems, and some people were saying that the sign in sheet was not from BB so not going to be honored. I have to say the Manager did honor the sheet even though he was a jerk in other ways.

Contact BB Corporate and let them know. There is no way I would tolerate them being rude to me. Don't let them get away with it
-
I was with TazErase at that BB. I already called BB Corporate and they are investigating them. This was also the Manager that was making up his own rules as he went along. Taz and I were there with our Daughters both 13 and his Daughters friend also 13. They camped out with us for 25hours. THey wanted the 42" TV. Manager said he was not giving tickets out to "anyone under 18" then few minutes later said "anyone under 16" then minutes later "anyone without ID" This is not BB policy since tickets are handed out on first come first serve 1 per customer for each item. Corporate told me on Friday they will get back to me after the research is completed. I even asked Corporate how come my Daughter's money is good during the year even though she is only 13 but on Black Friday it is not. The woman I guess looked up their policy and when she realized the error put me on hole for 15 minutes while she contacted other people. Then she came back and said someone would call me back, If I dont hear from them by Wednesday I will be calling back. Needless to say we were furious. TazErase has camped at that BB before and said they did everything totally different to previous years. It was totally different to the BBs I have camped out at before.

With the Kindle or the Nook (or a tablet) they would not have to buy books for it they could borrow from the library for free. I have not bought any books for my Nook yet and I have had it for over a year. I only borrow from the library and I do get some free books from B & N and other places but have not gotten around to reading them since I always have a steady supply from the library. You could arrange for them to get a library card from a library in their state that provides the OverDrive service. I use the Free Library of Philadelphia (as a PA resident its free) and also the New York Public Library in Manhattan (DH works there so was able to get a card) There are libraries in each state that provide this service and its free.

Stocking stuffer ideas for almost 17 yo boy and 11 year old girl
racerfan replied to copados1993's topic in 2011
In addition to alot of the above I also go to Target dollar spot and pick up whatever brain teaser games they have. The ones that are metal and connected together that you have to figure out how to separate. This year also my DS15 (almost 16) and DD13 will have book lights, stylus for their tablets, tablet sleeve.
