Friends that have the Thrive like it. It comes with Android 3.2 that is upgradeable to Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0 on select models. Something nice about it is that it has full size USB 2.0 as well as a mini usb. I would get a SD card so that he can increase the memory. He will have a ball watching and playing on it. Last year when we got my DS the Asus Transformer, the Thrive was in the running also.

I know how you feel. DS16 mentioned 2 weekends ago that we should get a fake tree since it is less "messy" DH and I just looked at him and said NO. Xmas is the one holiday I go all out. I love Christmas and decorate accordingly. DH does the outside and helps me with the inside (he does the tree) DD at least still likes Christmas and will help, but I am sure there will come a time when she will stop and make comments. 3 days ago I told DS that we will be starting the decorating this weekend. He was not happy. I told him no decorating then no gifts "Santa can't find our house if it is not decorated" He knows what that means. Right after he emailed me his list and started getting into my excitement.

At least with Samsung they do update. Acer seems to just drop their product whenever. My Tab2 will be a 2nd tablet to take with me out. My main will be the Asus 10". I have the Samsung Galaxy S3 and love it even though I dot have Jelly Bean yet As I said I did like the Nexus tablets, and I would have gotten it over the Tab 2 if it had a rear facing camera and the microsd slot. 32gb is not that big when you are doing a lot of video recording... I like having the option to expand with the sd cards. THis is one of the reasons I really don't like Apple, and even the Kindle Fire. I don't want to buy something that I am limited if I want to do something.

Not happy with Acer. DD got the Acer500 last Christmas and we LOVE the tablet, no problems and yes its a 10inch. Not happy that Acer has decided to no longer upgrade after 4.0 ice cream sandwich. Irs now the forgotten tablet... Would be afraid they would do it again.

Lol maybe;-) Seeing from our side having a big screen to record on we dont miss what is going on while we record. I have always video recorded my kids activities but usually had to wait until we got home to see what we missed. Now we have thw best of both worlds. Plus the kids like watching themselves on the tablet on the way home.

See I disagree with you. There are so many who use the rear facing camera. Just come to a swim meet, football game, basketball etc. Using the rear facing allows us to really see what is going on as well as record. Our house also has the Asus and we have been using the rear camera way more than front camera.

There are so many stores offering it. I am sure you can get one.

I also liked the Nexus but the chose the Tab2 over it because it has 2 cameras and you can increase the storage via a microsd card. We use the rear facing camera as a video camera especially when the kids are swimming in meets.

I like it. I am getting it for my house and also getting one for my kids Varsity Swim Team Tricky Tray fundraiser as a raffle item. Decisions were made yesterday was made on what to get. It will be in lower on BF but it is one less item for me to worry about.

He means go and check out with the store any rules they have about camping outside the store. If in a mall should check with the mall security to see if you are allowed tents, when can you start lining up etc.

I am hoping to get the Asus from either Office Depot or BB as 2nd choices. OD has 32gb BB the 16gb. My Walmart has the 32gb and would love to price match to OD and use friends discount. 1st choice. Tab 2 probably online at J&R tomorrow.

I prefer tablets that have the expansion slots like the Galaxy Tab2 and Asus Transformer. They both also have 2 cameras

I had it on preorder but cancelled and will be getting the Galaxy Tab2 and a Asus Transformer. They both have 2 cameras and I can increase memory and I feel you are getting more for my money

I dont know about downloading itunes app. Android tablets usually have Google Play store for apps and you can also download the Amazon app store. There are several free apps. Amazon has a free app everyday that they offer.

Sorry I should have said that the one we are getting is the largest that Home Depot carries. DH checked them out and he says based on our house their largest was fine for us. We have everything electric except for our Heater (propane) with electric start but we mainly use our wood stove with electric blower. DH has been researching them for a while but we never felt the need for one until losing power last year with Hurricane Irene and then again this year with Hurricane Sandy. I refuse to go thru it again so said we are getting one

I am still getting the same problem...

In the Hhgregg ad listing there are 3 camcorders listed in digital cameras. I cannot remember if there is a separate category for them. I thought there was. There are 3 TVs on first page (doorbusters) that are listed again in their 2/3 day sale. Same prices but on our ad listing we only have the 2/3 days not the doorbusters. ITs a little confusing but I found out when I looked at the model #s to but into the charts.

That is my problem too. That famous 2 year mark is when they seem to go. I plan on getting a squaretrade warranty for whichever laptop I get. I went to Staples and mine has 6 in back but none on display they are specific for BF. The difference in price of the HP Envy at BB to the Toshiba is the price for the Squaretrade warranty with the 40% off coupon so that is the only reason I would get the HP. It has a more memory and bigger HD but is an i5. I went to look at it and it seems flimsy. The screen is very thin and one guy at BB said people return it because of how it feels. They both can be upgraded I think to 16gb. Just wish the Toshiba had a bigger HD I do use an external for my pictures.
