  1. First BF I shopped, I had DH go to our local Ace (this was in Chicago) while I was visiting family in KS. He didn't go until late in the day and they were out of a lot of stuff. The past two years, I've gone myself (in KS) and gotten almost everything I wanted, but they've always been out of a few things. We usually hit Ace almost last, after we've had lunch, so that's to be expected I guess.
  2. There is a $10 rebate available online for the HomeCafe machines. That would make it $1.97-- great deal! http://www.homecafe.com/rebate.shtml
  3. BF is great for the guys in the family (and me too, I love technology and gadgets!!) but for the other women, it usually takes more time and trips to specialty stores (or internet shopping). My mom, grandmas and sister aren't really interested in video games, etc.
  4. If you don't find it in the box (they don't all have them) you can download it from Amazon.com Do a search for "Friends" and you should find the link, or try this: http://images.amazon.com/media/i3d/01/wbtvpdf2.pdf

    Walgreens BF

Bumping to give proper credit above.
  6. You guys really made my day-- what an awesome site!!

    Walgreens BF

I really don't know what her job is, but she posts the walgreens ads early each week (that is, several weeks early) and they've always been legit so far.

    GameStop

Last year one of them (I think it was EBGames, but I'm sure Gamestop had a similar deal) had a great deal on the older games (Player's Choice/Greatest Hits, etc)-- they were all 2/$25. DH cleaned up on that one!
  9. Don't forget if you are buying these, you can also do the WB rebate that is out there-- get up to $50 back if you buy, I believe, 6 of the sets. Exp. 12/31/05. :p

EDIT to note: I first saw this at http://www.dealagogo.com It is another nice message board with a lot of great information. It was my mistake not to give proper credit before. I hope it's OK to post this-- not sure of the ettiquette. I saw this on another site. The woman who posted it seems to work for Walgreens and says that the final ad isn't printed yet, so this is not final. 6 foot prelit christmas trees 19.99 (I'm suspecting the following is a percentage off) Adidas EDT spray 1oz 3.99 Adidas EDT spray 1oz 2.98 (not sure what the difference is between the two) (limit 2) Adidas Moves for Her EDT spray .5oz 4.24 Candies Men EDC spray 1.7oz 9.37 C'Est Moi EDT spray womens 1.7oz 4.99 Candies wmns EDT spray 1.7oz 9.37 Cool Water Men Frzn EDT spray 4.2oz 9.99 Cool Water Women Fran EDT spray 3.4oz 9.99 Pierre Cardin cologne 8oz 3.74 Shalimar EDT spray 1oz 9.49 Cabbage Patch Babies assortment 19.99 (limit 2) Bionicle Boxed gift set 9.99 (limit 2) Dreamgear plug n play w/50games 9.99 (limit 2) Assorted DVDs 2/9.99 Assorted VHS 2/4.99 Hershey Giant candy bars 2/1.00 (limit 4) Maxwell House Instant Coffee 9oz 1.99 (limit 2) Planters Peanuts 16oz .99 (limit 2) Polaroid Digital Camera 3.2mp 59.99 Portable DVD player 7in 99.99 Radio Control Vehicle 6volt 19.99 Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Stick or Lip Gloss .99 (limit 1) Rose Art Magnetix Set 100s 14.99 Schick Quattro Razor system 9.99 (I think there may be something with the cartridges as well...will update that asap) (Limit 1) Tide Ultra Liquid 50oz 1.99 (limit 2) I was hoping to see some BF only easysaver deals, but maybe they'll be in the final ad.
  11. Though I was thrilled to see Walmart and Radio Shak so early I think it's going to be TORTURE waiting for the rest now! Might have been better if they hadn't come out so early, then I wouldn't be checking this site five times a day (at least) looking for new ads. Oh, what am I saying! Of course I'm glad to see the early ads, but come on! Have some mercy here. I'm bouncing off the walls!
  12. I'd think some massages-- esp. foot massages would be great after all that walking around and standing in line. Maybe a wrapping party after the shopping? And a big glass of wine! Or whatever restores your spirit....
  13. I usually print out the lists that are posted here in advance and highlight the items I think I want to get, and also show them to my shopping partners (sister and dad). Then, the night before we look at the ads, compare to our lists and make a new list, adding in any extra items (or subtracting any overlaps). Then we try to figure out what order to shop in based on opening times and also geography-- don't want to waste gas now especially if it can be helped. In the store we split up to get the big items. Don't have walkie talkies but have used cell phones to find each other.
  14. The only person I've ever bought stuff for is my "little" (25 year old) brother, who would rather shoot himself in the foot than get up at 4 AM to shop. Don't know why I do it, but I guess he's just the baby in the family. It's been easy enough since each time he's just wanted the same things I was already buying for my DH or myself-- one year it was a GBA (at Walmart) the other a Kodak Easysaver digital camera (also at Walmart-- actually, I picked those up for myself, my sister (who, along with my dad always shops with me), and my brother. Now the three of us have to be careful at family outings since we all have the same camera. I'm happy to get stuff for others if its convenient or can be picked up AFTER I get my stuff. But no way I'm going seriously out of the way for someone who can't be bothered to go themselves.

    Box Sets

Would love to see good deals on Friends (seasons 9 and 10), Seinfeld (season 4), and Nip/Tuck-- just got season 1 yesterday at Best Buy for $15.99 (whoo hoo) but I'd like to get season 2 since I missed the big target deal. I've pre-ordered season 10 of Friends for $29.94 from Amazon but hopefully I'll know by November 15th (the release day) if there'll be a better BF deal on it. Also, don't forget about the WB rebate offer out on lots of these shows! Doesn't expire 'till the end of the year.
  16. Love'em!! I cringe knowing what family spends on gifts when I know I could have gotten it myself for a fraction of the price. Plus, I put my own shopping skills to use and mostly get myself whatever it is I happen to want (for the best possible price of course). So I always have a hard time thinking of things for others to get me. Gotta love the gift card (or even better, cash)!
  17. Target, Walmart, Best Buy, and Circuit City. Also EBGames, Ace Hardware, and Walgreens. Really didn't mean to go to Best Buy or EB Games-- thought I was going to be able to price match all the PS2 and Game Cube games DH wanted at Walmart, but that was a total bust. So ended up making the rounds. Oh, and the next day went to TRU for some GameBoy games that were still on sale.
  18. This post brings up a good point-- if you have newly opened locations of stores, or ones that are more out of the way or in less popular or populated areas, hit them!! They will be less crowded (usually) and you'll have a nicer time.
  19. LOL!! That's a great story! I think I'd be too embarrassed ever to go back there again. Actually all of my experiences on BF have been great, so I don't have any good horror stories to share. Which I guess I'm glad about. Outside of getting bumped with a few carts, everyone has been pretty nice. I think partly because I've done all of my BF shopping in Wichita KS where my family lives. We used to live in Chicago and I always shuddered to think what it would have been like going out on BF there. :tongue1:
  20. In college I used to live at JCrew and Esprit outlets. But it's been a few years. Yeah, I doubt they would have comparable deals to the big box stores, but you might be able to score a nice % off, which could be a great deal if you found clearance stuff you wanted.
  21. All three years I've gone it's been me, my sister and my dad. Sadly, I can't go home this year so if I go it will be either me alone or (very unlikely) me and DH. Maybe if we stay up all night until 5 and then go shopping-- otherwise, forget it. I'm bummed to be missing out on the family fun this year.
  22. Heck, yeah! They always have such great deals on DVD movies and TV show seasons that I can't resist getting a little something, if not a big something.
  23. Yes, the Walmart sale was disappointing last year. The only thing I really wanted was the Eureka bagless vacuum cleaner-- and we ended up leaving with three, one for me and one each for my sister and my brother. But it was hard to drag myself out of bed at 5 AM for a vacuum cleaner!
  24. Office Max. Two years ago I did all the FARs, only to find that a lot of the forms weren't in the booklet they handed me at the store. I emailed, called and could never find at least 5 of the forms before the two week postmark date was up. Then they rejected several of the rebates saying they weren't postmarked on time, and when I emailed about that I got one of the rudest emails I've ever received from their clearing house. Wrote more emails, including PlanetFeedback. No response. So I haven't shopped there since.
