  1. Ya, the cashiers hardly even glance at the coupons when I use them. They scan through without any problem. I've never had anyone have to manually enter numbers for my coupons. I do clip off the expiration date though. I've never understood why Target doesn't at the very least design its coupons with the expiration date placed somewhere near the barcode to make it impossible to clip off. Sometimes I use manufactuers coupons that do have the expired date visable and the cashiers still take them without question. IMO, Target is very smart to be liberal with its coupons. I would guess most shoppers end up buying other things that they might not have purchased. And those are just the "few" people who bother with the coupons. There are soooo many shoppers who buy the stuff talked about on this forum and don't even give coupons a second thought. Walmart has its price match and Target has a great coupon system, I guess!
  2. I have had good luck with new Targets... especially if there are already a lot of Targets in your area. The new stores I have gone to send their stuff to clearance really quick and sometimes just skip directly to 50% off. It is correct about them having their act together though. The newer stores that I've gone to seem to get their pricing team out first thing in the mornings. So I always know if I'm wanting/watching something on clearance I go to that store first. Some of the older stores don't always get to the markdowns first thing in the morning (not always, but sometimes). Good luck!
  3. Got a real neat Fiskars Rotary Paper Trimmer today... reg. $47.96 on sale for $11.98. It has a 10sheet cutting capacity and you can buy interchangeable blades that do different cutting patterns (wave, scallop, perforation, squiggles, etc.) Great for scrapbooking. They were marking a lot of office supplies and scrapbooking stuff down-- mostly to 50% off, but some (not much) of the stuff in the scrapbooking aisle was being marked to 75%. I did see the alphabet stamp set marked to 75% off... it's like a punch type set. I don't remember the price, cause I didn't need it. Got some Mead tablet sets for $1.24 down from $5 as well. That's about it. That Fiskars thing is very cool. I can't wait to get some of the interchangeable blades. (I know... I'm a scrapbooking mom who gets excited about the weirdest things)
  4. Here is the coupon generator for CURRENT Target coupons: http://coupons.50webs.org/ Here is the coupon generator for EXPIRED Target coupons: http://coupons.50webs.org/expired.html I just have them bookmarked and when I generate a full sheet to print, I actually save that sheet to my computer's desktop... just in case the expired coupon generator ever vanishes!
  5. I think there is a Dr. Pepper coupon out there, but we are Diet Coke drinkers, so I mostly use that one. They just had them on special 3 for $8 last week ($2.66 each). With the coupon they ended up at $1.66 for a 12 pack. I think that was someone else talking about Mt. Dew.
  6. Nobody has ever questioned any of the coupons I use-- ever. I'm not exaggerating. I just use them a couple per item at a time... never in bulk and usually with lots of other purchases. When I'm out of Diet Coke, I just buy a couple of 2 liter bottles of it for $1.49 and use the $1 off coupon. My 2 liters are $.49 at the most... sometimes free if they are on sale for $1. I don't need 18 2 liter bottles of soda though, so I just buy when I need them. There are a few key items that I use a lot that have $1 off... apple juice, oreos, gold fish crackers, 12 packs of soda... with the coupons that are out on the generator, I have them all saved to my computer ready to print off 8 at a time. Most of the cashiers don't even look at the coupon. They just run it across the scanner and it always goes through. I can't imagine that it's not easy (in this day and age) to program the barcode on a coupon to be rejected once it passes a certain date. Target doesn't do that I guess. (I'm not a computer wizard, so maybe it can't be done.) However, their stores end up on the winning side of my spending though because I end up buying other things there that I may not purchase otherwise.
  7. Here is the coupon generator link: http://coupons.50webs.org/expired.html I just keep a stash of the coupons for the products that I use the most and then wait until I need them, or until I find a great manufacturers coupon to use with them. I am very fortunate that the Target stores around me don't give me a hard time about expired coupons. (However, I DO clip off the expiration date, so that may be why LOL!!)
  8. Are you looking for the portable tabletop type grills? If yes, then OP Super Target has some left for 75% off. I was just there last night and there were several left (maybe 4 or 5). I can't remember the price though. $4.98 sticks in my mind, but I was also looking at grill lights and that may have been the price on those. All that stuff was marked down and it is in the aisle sort of off by tools (in that area anyway).
  9. Yes, there is a Motts Apple Juice coupon out there for $1 off 64 ounces. I almost always find them for $1.50 each. If you use the coupon that makes them 50 cents for 64 ounces. Not bad for 100% apple juice. Like I mentioned in an earlier post, I just go in when I need some and buy a couple at a time. They last me awhile cause nobody in my family likes really sweet juice, so I poor 1/2 the jug into another container and add water to both to dilute 1/2 water with 1/2 juice. Soooo... it's really like 25 cents per 64 ounce then! (Truly I don't do this cause I'm cheap, but I've always diluted the kids' juice since they were babies and they've just gotten used to it. Now they don't like it when it's really strong cause it's too sweet!)
  10. I also agree with this. I realize from this forum that many Targets are picky about coupons. I've never had a problem using expired coupons, so when I need apple juice or oreos or whatever, I just go and pick up a couple at a time. I never pay more than 50 cents for 64 ounces of Motts apple juice or about $1 for a bag of oreos. When I just take one or two through at a time, it's never been a problem for me. I've never tried to buy 10 jugs of apple juice at a time, but I'm sure if I did, the cashier might pause and wonder what the heck! I also would never just go through without actually having a balance to pay. But, then I have lots of Targets around here and I almost always have other items I'm buying.
  11. I found a whole bunch of valentines tissue and gift bags in the wrapping paper section today at the State Line store. There was a TON of it. Guess someone missed putting it in with the valentines stuff. It was all 19cents per bundle. Doesn't look valentinesy at all, so I'm hoping to use it for stuffing into gift bags. Also found some stray bags of candy mixed in with the regular candy aisle... Dove with carmel and Hershey Kisses with carmel... 29 cents a bag. Also got a two pack of Jif peanut butter (giant sized jars) for $3.50 (regular $7). I used a couple of peanut butter coupons (I think they were expired) plus a manufacturers coupon. Pretty good deal considering I had to take all my poisonous Peter Pan stuff (manufacturer recall) back for a refund. My kids were going through PB&J withdrawl! I did see Similac and Nestle infant formula for 1/2 price ($11.xx) for big containers. A great deal for someone who needs it!! My baby is past that stage. Hoping that all the linens (Woolrich blankets and such) don't go 75% until next week. I can't remember what day of the week those things get marked. Hubby and I are leaving for Mexico early tomorrow morning to chase some sunshine (hopefully) for a few days!! That's why I had to make a long trip to Target tonight by myself to get my "fix" before I leave!! (I don't think they have Targets in Mexico, do they?? ) If I mention Target in Mexico, I'm pretty sure he'd hit me over the head with a bottle of Tequila!
  12. I can't link to the expired coupon page anymore.... can anyone help? I don't know what happened. Does anyone know what day of the week linens/bedding/all that Woolrich stuff gets marked? Is that Wednesdays or Thursdays??
  13. Oh happy day. I found some minute maid juice! I just didn't think I'd ever find any. Went to the Super Target off State Line Road this morning and they 4 on the shelf... marked $2.82, but scanning .69! Valentines stuff around here is 75% today.
  14. Me too nikkilugi!! I keep seeing these posts about that darn juice. I always glance when I'm in the juice aisle, but I only see the 15 packs of Minute Maid (except for the orange juice boxes, which scan at $3.xx). Guess that deal missed this part of the country:gdangry4:
  15. Do you guys know whether you can use those coupons online and then go to a store and redeem them as well??? I've always wondered, but never tried it. Anybody know?
  16. Yes, they mark all those toys down too (at least they always have at the Targets I shop). Many times those toys are forgotten about and stay in the toy aisle. I've found lots of valentines day themed toys for 75 and even 90% off because nobody thought to pluck them out of the toy aisle and put them with the Valentines stuff. This has happened to me during other holidays too (Christmas especially). Most of the time books and movies are not part of the holiday clearance. They usually box those up, and I don't know what they do with them. They don't even go to 1/2 (I don't think). Maybe there are some exceptions with coloring books or activity books... I"m not really up on the "rules" of what types of books/videos don't make it to clearance. I just know most of them don't get marked down. I think Valentines goes to 75% on the 18th... 90% a couple days after that. I've never found that Valentines is as much of a mad rush as other holidays. But, always good to get there early if there is something that you want. My experience is that unless there are specific valentines cards that you want... those boxed valentines that kids use in school usually make it to 90% with LOTS to go around. Happy shopping!
  17. Not a real bad day for me. At least the weather was WONDERFUL after so many days of freezing cold it got to 55 degrees here. Here's what I found: 2- 15 packs of Bounty paper towels for $6.24 each (reg $12.50) (left two there and later regretted it, but when I went back they were gone) RATS. 1- 15 pack of Scott paper towels for $5 3 Steralite under the bed containers for $3.48 ea. (reg. $15) A disney princess sleeping bag for $9.98 (reg. $20) I saw flatware sets for $17 (reg. $69 or something)... didn't need any of them though. I was really surprised this year at how fast the bulk items moved out. Last year our Targets had so much of that stuff (cleaning supplies and food items) that a lot of it made it to 50%. This year, I didn't see anything (except those paper towels) go past 30%. I used my Target 10% off card only because it expires soon and they sent me a second one that expires two weeks after this one. SO, I figured I might as well grab a little savings while I can. Christmas toys appear to be salvaged at the stores around me. Either means "you name your price" or it's the "Target snatch away" depending on where you go! I've never had anyone tell me they wouldn't sell me something. Most of the time it's the name your price game. But I didn't see any toys that interested me even in the least. It was just a nice day to be out... dare I say almost HOT here. Back to the deep freeze tomorrow though.
  18. I don't know about anyone else or whether it may be due to the fact that Target is "relatively" new to this area (I mean there were ZERO Targets in KC when I moved here in 91). Now, there are too many to even count within the city sometimes practically on top of each other. Anyway, whenever I go into a Target store, I am met at virtually ever single aisle with the friendliest "Hello, can I help you find anything?" It is the single reason I won't step foot in a Walmart. Most of the time I'm just strolling for deals so I rarely need assistance, but the Targets in this city are hands down some of the friendliest workers I have ever encountered in my life and that is in ANY discount store-- Walmart, Kmart, whatever! I can count on one hand the times that someone there has made me the least bit upset. Pretty much only one time and I can remember his name and face. LOL. When I see him working I still give him the berries under my breath :>)
  19. How have you found the new Target by the Speedway? I am kind of disappointed. I figured as a new store they would be a lot quicker to clearance. When the Oak Park Target first opened, they had incredible deals. They were quick to move from 30 to 50% off and sometimes STARTED at 50% off and skipped 30% altogether. I guess there aren't a lot of Targets out that way, so maybe that has something to do with the Speedway Target's pricing or just management??? Who knows??? It's about a 15 minute drive for me so unless I'm hitting the outlet to do some other shopping, I don't go there as much as I thought I would. I also just realized that their store has a very high tax as well... up over 8%. It's not THAT much of a difference from many of the stores in the city, which are 7.5%, but if I'm just going to pick up essentials, I definitely take that into consideration. (OR to the Stateline & Lees Summit Super Target, which has almost 9% tax!!) Of course, if there is a good deal to be had tax rates don't really matter all that much LOL!!:) I haven't had any luck with finding much at all lately. I did luck into a pink Disney video mix max at the Overland Park Super Target late last week. It was $25.04 (kind of a weird price). Also got a little Barbie 3 wheel scooter for $6.24. I was just there getting something from the pharmacy, otherwise I don't usually go to that store.
  20. There are times when I want to rebuy something that I've bought knowing that it is now 75% off. Take the item back late... like 7 or 8 p.m. Chances are good that it won't be reshelved until right at closing or even after closing. Then be there when the store opens the next morning. I realize that sometimes this isn't always convenient, but I have lots of Targets real close to me, so if there is something that I'd really like to have back, that is what I do and I have always had good luck. (Sundays are ususally a good evening to do this. Monday mornings aren't usually that busy at our stores.) Of course if the employees want it, you are a bit screwed. :>) Option two... just ask the clerk at guest services (very politely) when they think the item will be put back out on the shelf because you want to rebuy it. I had incredible luck with huge quantities of toys that I returned when they went 75% off. I was amazed that both times I asked the question, the clerk said, "well I can just resell them to you right now if you'd like." One even did the return (at the higher cost) and the rebuy (at the lower cost) right on the SAME receipt. Again, I did it in the evening when it was younger people working and probably figured, "if she buys all this I won't have to reticket/reshelf it." During the day there may be the threat of management lurking, etc. I don't know if it is against policy for guest services to do it, but the two times I did it, the clerks were real open and friendly about it.... They didn't give me the feeling like I was asking for anything that was that big of a deal. Just remember it doesn't hurt to ask nicely. All they can do say is no.
  21. Oh thanks so much... I thought it was for Kraft, but maybe I'll try the Archer Farms. I like their english muffins. Thanks again. Won't be able to go until tonight. My (almost) 4 year old daughter is getting very sick of Target and increasingly protests my trips. "MOMMY, no more Targets!" It happened with my 5 1/2 year old daughter too, so I guess my 1 year old will be my only faithful shopper. I think I can pretty much count on her for a couple more years maybe! Thanks again for the coupon.
  22. Awhile back there were several postings about a cheese coupon for Target. Was that Kraft Cheese? Does anyone have quick access to that coupon and could you post it here? I looked in the coupon generator (even expired coupons) and I can't find it. If anyone can link me to it, I would really appreciate it! (I don't care if it's expired.) Thanks so much!
