  1. Was this thread merged with the DVD players? Anyway, I think the portable DVD players and the DVD recorders should have separated threads.
  2. Last year the pre-thanksgiving sale was 6pm till midnight (or 10pm?). I'll stop by after work anyway to check it out.

    BF Online

It seems this question has been asked everyday. You may want to browse down to find out previous threads.
  4. Clearance items are YMMV and probably are there before BF, however, Lowes and CompUSA had manager specials in store that were not on the ads last year.
  5. DVDShrink works pretty well and you can preserve the picture quality and menu page that none of the DVD recorders can, however, the time it takes depending on the performance of your computer. I like it very much because you can remove/change the region code too.

    Blank DVD Deals?

I am stuffed with HP and Teon 8x DVD media from Staples in the last few weeks. I got 40-pk Teon and 50-pk HP for $4-$8 each after coupon. I just got too many coupons ($10 off $20, $10 off $40, $15 off $15, ...) from them and the the price I paid beats all the BF deal this year and no rebate required. Honestly, I won't spend time on the DVD media this BF.
  7. Both LVW 1101 and 1105 have the same Manual. They both support dual media. That means DVD+R/RW and DVD-R/RW.
  8. I can't find the $89.97 one you mentioned, but the $69.97 Lite-On LVW1105 should support Divx, but it does not have S-video in/out. OfficeMax also has a similar model (1101 or 1105) at the same price after rebate. The rebate amounts are different though. I think the Meijer's rebate is $20, OfficeMax is $30, and BestBuy is $50.
  9. I did price matching a couple times at Toysrus (to KB Toys) and Meijer (to Walgreens) during BF early bird hours.
  10. Most store do not give rain checks on limited quantity on sale items. That is the reason why people wait overnight for the hot items. Last year, I found one on sale item at Meijer for Friday and Saturday and did not mentioned limited quantity, I was able to get a rain check on that item. Interestingly, most store do price match even for limited quantity items. I did several times buying early bird specials of A store at B store within the on sale time period.
  11. I monitored the major stores online last year for the BF sales. If my memory served, BB had the on sale items up on TG day around noon and most items were going within 2 hours. Then CC had the on sale items up at around 7 or 10pm. CompUSA and Staples became available after midnight or 4am (forgot which one came first). All Eastern time. Of course, this year may be different. I hope this info help.
  12. For the regular Sunday ads, Bestbuy does have different versions even within Michigan. I remember the Seagate HD was $29.99AR in central Michigan and $39.99 in my area for the same week. I am not surprised if there are slightly different versions of BF ads.
