  1. If you're reading this Target... Good for you for finally giving the issue some attention, and even though she didn't ask for it, a gift card would be really nice for the OP if only to deal with the frustration of the situation. jcarr492, thankyou! I have two toddler boys and I never thought about it before but I will always pay attention to the wrist and leg openings of pajamas now. My mother bought some pj's for DS when he was only a few months old and when I put them on him, he would cry non-stop. Turns out they used that plastic-type thread for the stitching in the ankles which was bothering him. Just another thing to look out for.
  2. Well not to hijack my own thread but.... I think we must all be SIL's with the same MIL. There's alittle of my situation in every post. My MIL seems to favor her other 2 grands more than mine but I always saw it as a way to "stick it to me". Last year she asked what to get for DS and we told her Thomas trains because we bought him a train table. She said fine and went out and bought him a TRU brand train set and went on about how she didn't know what to get him because I never bring the kids over and I keep them from her blah blah blah. Since this was before TRU's receipt policy, I returned it for store credit and got him something else. The set turned out to be $9.99 meanwhile SIL's kids got about $200 worth of gifts each. Whatever. DS's are too young to notice this stuff so I don't even bat an eye over it. I just try to figure out her reasoning. If you only wanted to spend $10, why not get him a train like agreed? If money was the issue, why not spend less across the board. I guess I'll never understand until I'm a MIL.
  3. Duh! How could I not think of that getting a new one just for the receipt? I guess I'll do that. Why is it always the in-laws? My MIL is also touchy about being asked for a receipt for an exchange. Even if something is way too small for my kids, she will just tell us to squeeze them in it. I've stopped thinking about it too much in order to preserve my sanity. I say thankyou, and just add it to my ebay or salvation army box. They are also notorious for ripping all tags off of clothing. Not just the price which is preforated at the bottom.
  4. I haven't tried to do an exchange without a receipt but I know it's their policy to require a receipt for ALL returns & exchanges. It's plastered all over the stores and it's on the receipts.
  5. Jeesh! My in-laws NEVER give gift receipts. Fine, but when you get all my kids toys from TRU and TRU won't return or exchange anything without a regular or gift receipt, that's a problem. TRU registers automatically print a gift receipt for each and every item you buy so I know the in-laws have them:mad: . That's just my vent. I'm pissed because SIL bought DS a Sit & Spin which is already not working very well and I can't exchange it. She's in another state so it's not like I can just stop by and pick it up. Is there something I'm missing? I ALWAYS give gift receipts because I don't want people to feel obligated to keep something I bought if they don't like/need/want it.
  6. Thanks OP! I've been waiting for these to show up again.
  7. I guess my Target is even slower than yours because the wine glasses were only 50% off by me.
  8. Thanks for all the tips eveyone. I went ahead and got the ribs and fudge from figis since my father had me make ribs everytime they came this summer. Just alittle something to hold him over until spring. Well, I ordered on Friday and didn't get confirmation until Sunday. I came super close to calling and cancelling thinking I wouldn't get it in time but it shipped Sunday night and got here on Tuesday. Now that's some good service:yup: The ribs aren't as big as I thought. I got 2lbs and imagined they would be like those Flinstones ribs. The fudge looks good and I got petit fours for my family. OMG they're good!!!! I wish I had gotten more as gifts. There's always next year. I have the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory bookmarked for Father's day though:)
  9. Just got back from getting my price adjustment. I did get the eye, but no lecture. I would've gone to Walmart for a price match if plan 1 didn't work.
  10. Thanks droolbug! Phase one is complete. I have the DVD's. Now I have to keep my fingers crossed until I can get back to TRU for the adjustment tonight. I suppose I can always do a rebuy if I have a problem but you just never know what to expect.
  11. I'm on my way to get the dvd's. Wish me luck:)
  12. Darn. I had my eye on a few things hoping they would go on sale before x-mas. I guess it's not gonna happen. Full price it is for me.
  13. Okay so now I need to get the Cars and the Little Mermaid movies but I can't make it to TRU until late in the afternoon tomorrow. Anyone think there will be a problem if I buy tonight and go in tomorrow for the price adjustment? I'm sure it'll be obvious that I'm doing it but I just don't want to get screwed.
  14. I definitely think the ottomans are nice enough for a gift. It might get a "gee thanks what it is it?" reaction but it's very high quality and very nice. Pretty big too.
  15. Got it today. I love it! DH thought I spent at least $30 on it. He asked how much, I told him to guess. He said $45 but knowing you $25-$30." LOL! Now we just have to find a place to put it. It's too nice for the office so it might go into the family room. We'll see.
  16. Thanks ladies. My father is more of a chocolate and bakef goods person but the jelly belly site did give me an idea for someone else. autumnroser, have you ordered from figis before? I'm thinking of going with the ribs (2 #'s for $18) and the SF fudge. Found a code for free shipping and it comes with 6 free gifts. Not too shabby if it's a good site.
  17. I'm fresh outta ideas and time. Can anyone help me with ideas for a gift for a diabetic? $50 range. Gift card to a website, gift basket, etc... It's for my father. Over the years, I've already gotten him cookbooks with choose the recipes and I'll bake them gifts, for Father's Day, my kids and I made him SF cookies and surprised him at work with them, stuff like that. I'm just at a loss. Please help.
  18. Thanks guys! I guess I'm going to Kohl's today!
  19. How ridiculous. Is it so hard to look at an e-mail and see that there are 4 things on sale and only accept coupons for those for things. Gimme a break.
  20. I think it's 14 days too but you could always buy a new one and return it with the old receipt.
  21. They absolutely will take Linens n Things coupons. I've always been able to use more than one coupon when I have more than one item. The register will even automatically take the 20% off the highest priced item and the $5 coupon off any item over $15. I love BB&B. I used to think I was getting away with something by using the expired coupons but a cashier told me they always take them.
  22. Thanks dtwdmaty! At this point, I think I just have an addiction to coupons and can't handle paying full price it there's a coupon out there.
  23. DS's daycare is having a book fair next week. Does anyone know if I can use the coupon there?
  24. Great tip OP! Looks like I'll be sticking to gift cards that only have security PINs on them. I know Best Buy cards have them, TRU cards don't.
