A couple of days late, as it was this past Saturday, but... Belated Happy Armed Forces Day to all *currently* serving and their families!

I think it will depend on when, and how safely things open up. The general public has a short memory. If things open up safely by late July/early August without a spike causing retail spaces to lockdown again, I believe many may risk going out by the end of November for in-store deals. However, if things don't start to reopen until mid-September, or even if things do but schools remain closed and switch to online learning for the first half of the school year, I think that constant reminder will keep people home, and retailers will have to switch to online offerings. If such happens, my personal thought is deals need to start showing up by Halloween, as retailers will be slammed and any hope of receiving shipments in time for Chr-stmas will need to be spaced out. That's if the unemployment rate can recover with safe reopening, and people have the income to shop the way they have in the past.

That's beautiful.

Really? Perhaps I am more aware of them, having raised a son on the autism spectrum and having to explicitly teach the concepts to him. Read and learn if I piqued your curiosity. The concept goes back to at least Epicurus.

Being a 60-year old 3 time separate cancer thriver, I'm a stickler for social distancing. On the rare occasions I do need to go in to a grocery store, I diligently adhere to the one way aisles, and patiently wait 6' back if someone in the aisle I'm on is stopped to make their selection. I expect social contracts to imply the same behavior from others, not enforcement by store employees or hired security. It aggravates me immensely when others do go the wrong way on aisles, or pass me and others by while we make our selections when there isn't 6' of distance to safely do so. If an aisle is empty, and one is at the closer end to an item one needs, I can see darting in to grab the item. But, leave the aisle in the proper direction, and if someone correctly enters the aisle at the same time one enters from the wrong direction, the one in the wrong needs to exit the aisle on the proper direction and make their way around. We need to protect each other. Being inconvenienced by such details is part of that.

I already posted this in The Lounge, but apparently not as many frequent there. So... Feliz Sink-o de mayo!

The only good thing I'll say about UPS is that I do love their UPS Dogs page on Facebook.

Unless a signature is required, *all* of my deliveries are done this way, regardless of provider. Occasionally, I'll get notified on an app that a delivery has been made. But, many times it sits on the porch for hours before anyone goes outside and stumbles upon it. But, it's been that way for at least a couple of years here.

Have you tried the slinky approach? However, it appears the feeder needs to be at the top of the pole, not suspended from it.

Thanks, len. Halfway to my goal weight before I schedule my final reconstruction revision.

Stepped on the scale since pre-Passover. Only up 10 lbs., but considering I've been stalled over a year I'm not super pleased. Still, it could have been worse. Posting this photo of me at my highest and at my stalled weight, to hold myself accountable.

We used the last of our Easter ham and had eggs benedict for brunch today as well.

Len, the first store sounds like a Kroger affiliate. Fred Meyer and QFC, the two Kroger affiliates I am aware of here, have instituted the same entrance limitations and the one way aisles. The second store sounds like what our Albertsons/Safeway affiliates are doing. We don't have Aldi's here, but I know many compare Aldi's to Trader Joe's. Our Trader Joe's is also managing the number of people in the store at one time. Prices are holding steady at all of the stores, so far. To encourage reusable bags, many communities instituted charges for using store bags. Currently, we are not allowed to use our reusable bags. But, we are told to enter 0 grocery store bags used at self checkout, even though we are now required to use them. I even asked if I could use my canvas bags as long as I bagged my own groceries, and was told I had to return my bags to my car before entering the store.

Currently, to claim Unemployment in Washington State, one had to have worked 680 hours in the past 18 months. Between the double mastectomy in the summer of 2018, the DIEP FLAP reconstructive surgery in January of 2019, and the recovery time from both, I did not work that much. I have been on track to exceed that with what I have worked since the school year started in September, but only worked one day last month before the buildings shut down. I did reach out to the substitute coordinator for one of the districts, asking about subbing in the administrative offices until next September, and she confirmed that everyone is working from home, so there currently won't be any office work. Supposedly, requirements for Unemployment are going to be changed, but I haven't seen that happening as yet. I am keeping my eyes on it, though.

Today Washington's Governor announced our schools will finish out the school year online. While I believe this is the wisest decision, as a classified substitute for two districts (meaning I do office support work, not instruction) there has been no jobs for me since mid-March. I do not know if the districts have told their administrative personnel that they couldn't have time off during this time, even for things like doctors appointments, or if they are allowing them time off without bringing in a substitute. I am considering looking for a temporary position to carry me throughout the summer. But, being immunocompromised, I have no idea what type of temporary position I can even be qualified for in these times. I guess my best bet will be to wait and see what the school districts do. But as a paycheck to paycheck worker, this is very concerning.

Excellent! I haven't seen anything about it for this weekend.

hmm... This is all I've seen for now, but I'll keep my eyes open for updates.

I'm pretty sure for now it is only scheduled for this Friday through Sunday. The schedule is in the article.

I hope the Black Friday Forum is an acceptable place to post this, as it is a "seasonal" topic. Hallmark Channel Schedules Christmas Movie Marathon During Self-Quarantine
