  1. First... Go GATORS! Second, that topping looks good, thanks!
  2. We have decided to go non keto for the main meal, but we're keeping the variety to a minimum for a festive meal. Good Eats Roast Turkey after a three day dry brine Homemade Gravy Homemade Cranberry Orange Sauce Crockpot Stuffing Sweet Potato Casserole Green Bean Casserole Fireball Pumpkin Pie Usually I do the marshmallow topped sweet potato casserole, but my tastes have changed slightly since beginning keto and chemo. I'll stick with mixing in the crushed pineapple, but I think I'll do a crumble topping instead this year. Any suggestions for a good one, perhaps more nut based than flour based, would be appreciated.
  3. We start festive activities Wednesday afternoon, as we start gathering together. I wouldn't say we eat heavily prior to Thanksgiving dinner, but we do snack quite a bit on Wednesday. Thursday starts off eating light as well. Drinking coffee and maybe a bowl of cereal as we watch the Macy's parade. We're flexible with dinner time, as well. We've eaten as early as 2:00 pm and as later as 7:00. Friday is using planned overs for breakfast and lunch, but Friday night is Shabbos dinner. Usually I'll do a roast chicken for Shabbos, but Thanksgiving weekend Shabbos dinner tends to be lighter. Shabbos day is easy, as we continue to pick at planned overs. I generally make some sort of casserole for Saturday night. Sunday morning is when we'll do brunch. Sometimes we do Jewish appetizing; others I do one of my many french toast casseroles. So, that's the schedule for us. I have the weekend to finalize the menu and prepare to shop. Fortunately, we are a small group of 4. But we eat well over this weekend. What are your plans?
  4. The weighted blankets is one of Kohl's Black Friday early access deals today.
  5. If you click on the item details for the TV on the Walmart site, it says the same as I posted above for other items, I e., it is part of the Black Friday event and is valid online starting at 10:00 pm Wednesday. You can always check and see if it is actually offered. https://www.walmart.com/store/3098/bellevue-wa/weekly-ads?flyer_run_id=397924&flyer_type_name=ad
  6. I do not own one, as I already own a BlendTec. But, as a fan of Instant Brands appliances, I would grab this in a heart beat if I needed one. From what I have heard on Instant Brands Facebook forums, due to the heating element in the bottom of the glass carafe, the carafe is quite heavy. The carafe is also fairly small in capacity, compared to other standard blenders. One thing to keep in mind is that the Soup setting actually cooks the soup via the heating element; it is not heated up via friction. This means, if you are making a soup with dairy in it you need to blend in the dairy at the end of Soup cycle, not during. Dairy tends to settle to the bottom of the carafe, and several users on the forums reported the dairy scorching under the blades. Unlike a friction heated blender, the Soup cycle takes as long as 20+ minutes to cook. But, the temperature is set for boiling, 212 degrees F, which I believe is much hotter than a friction blender generates. But, this contributes to the long Soup cycle, as the heating element in the bottom is all that is heating up the ingredients. Finally, again due to the heating element in the bottom of the carafe, the bottom is not removable for cleaning. Hence the caution of scorching dairy on the bottom. The Clean cycle is not enough to scrape off anything which gets scorched on. Even with these caveats, I would love to own one.
  7. If you look at the ad on walmart.com and hover over an item, an Item Details button pops up. This is what it says for both the Instant Pot Duo 6-quart and the Instant Brands Ace Blender: So, both items should be available online, from what I'm seeing.
  8. This happened to me a couple of years ago. I bought the married couple who are my landlords tickets to an AL Stewart concert in a local, very intimate theater. If I recall, I even managed to score front row tickets. Turned out the husband got his wife tickets to a country music festival for the same night. Since the wife prefers country music, and she enjoys AL Stewart, but not like the husband (who tolerates country concerts to please his wife) the adage, "if mama ain't happy..." applied.
  9. And I think this is the first year with online ordering!
  10. Wait... Isn't Target currently doing free shipping on all orders with no minimum?
  11. Keto has made me more energetic as well, and I am very sedentary. I believe it is the combination of the anti-inflammatory aspects of following clean keto (which, I don't do 100%, but more than 50% of my intake), and the 70 pounds I have lost in the 16 and a half months since I started this WOE. I have at least another 50 more pounds to go; preferably 63, but I'll be happy at 50. I don't expect it to come off as rapidly, but as long as I don't gain, I'll stick with the plan.
  12. Try bringing the email to the customer service desk at your local Target and tell them you forgot to apply the coupon. You never know; they may refund the difference.
  13. I made This Old Gal's Bourbon Pumpkin Pie Cheesecake for Thanksgiving last year. I highly recommend it! The attached file is the one I made. https://thisoldgal.com/instant-pot-bourbon-pumpkin-pie-cheesecake/ This year, I'm going to try making it lower carb, by making an almond flour based "graham cracker" crust, and using sugar alcohols in place of the sugars, including making my own candied pecans to decorate. We'll see how it turns out.
  14. I went ahead and took advantage of the Simply Vera Wang leggings for $9.99 with the 20% off code. With the code, I paid $7.99/pair. I'm good with that. I didn't spend enough to get Kohl's Cash, but I'm good with that as well. What amazes me is that I'm out of plus size and in to ladies. I'm fitting in to leggings for a size 12/14, without them being stretched out. Woo-hoo!
  15. Big Red, my 6-quart heavy duty bowl lift KitchenAid mixer, has been wanting one of these since she came in to my life. https://www.amazon.com/Attachment-KitchenAid-Included-Spaghetti-Fettuccine/dp/B07X1RHSX3/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=KLGGZXKLWRM5&keywords=kitchenaid+pasta+attachments+for+stand+mixers&qid=1573001205&sprefix=kitchen+aid+pasta%2Caps%2C456&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEyS0wzNFZQWVhIU0swJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwNjY3NzU2MTBTNUE5R04yUEdEUiZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwOTI1NDIxM1NZUkVQUlVSUjFWUSZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX2F0ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU=
  16. My understanding is yes, those of us who have won survival kits are eligible for the gift card. I have two questions though: 1. As the predict the first ad gift card winner, am I eligible to win another gift card? 2. If so, are my links acceptable? I tend to use amazon smile, but my understanding is that those links do not generate revenue for my charity unless I'm buying. Does the amazon smile metric interfere with GottaDeal's affiliate links from the site?
  17. Are you trying to download the pdf? The scan of the ad is working fine for me. You can also try accessing the ad on Kohl's site directly at: https://kohls.shoplocal.com/Kohls/BrowseByPage/Index/?StoreID=2482787&PromotionCode=Kohls-191128BFPV&PromotionViewMode=1#MaxPageNumber=1
  18. I use this a lot on my mastectomy and reconstruction scars. A fantastic product! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AREGVUM?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_dt_b_product_details
  19. My partner and I both like to use racks on half sheet pans in the oven for cooking, but the cooling racks I bought at The Dollar Tree are not holding up to the heat of the oven. So, these Wilton racks seem like a good buy. It's listed as a cooling rack, but popped up on a search for baking racks, so I hoping it will hold up in the oven. https://www.amazon.com/Wilton-Industries-Perfect-Results-Cooling/dp/B003W0UNM0/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=wilton+half+sheet+pan+baking+rack&qid=1572722403&sr=8-1
  20. I really want this new model Instant Pot, but in the 8-quart size. Kohl's is listening it as out of stock, but Williams Sonoma is currently selling it. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07W55DDFB/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_1f8UDbVC64R8Q
  21. When I won randomly by posting in a contest thread, Brad posted the winners in thread. He also messaged me to verify my mailing address.
  22. My survival kit arrived today! No gift card or t-shirt, but some cool items. Thanks, Brad!
