Yeah, they need to do vouchers on stuff like that. It would make it alot better for the store anyways. I was in Staples and it wasnt too bad but there was alot of pushing and shoving. People were grabbing 2 or 3 hard drives even though you could only get one. One guy knocked one down and it landed hard on the ground. Rather then take the one he may have busted he just grabbed another and then shoved his way to the next thing.
I went to staples,
got the $30 200GB drive
$10 512MB USB drive
and a $30 Netgear Wireless G router.
That's after rebates, I'm waiting on $56 dollars worth of easy rebates but I already plugged the info in online. Their rebate system is really easy.
I think it was because it was so COLD. I was at the Staples near Colonie Center (You're from Albany so I'm sure you'll know where that is) and it was FREEZING. After about 15 minutes waiting though a manager let the maybe 15 of us that were there at 5:00 am into the lobby area so we had it pretty good, it wasn't that bad there.
I overheard a guy that works at one store (can't remember what it was though, I think it was staples or Office Max or something like that) say they only had 10 of their dirt cheap PCs. He said he was expecting blood.
If I were you I'd do as much as Christmas shopping on black friday as I could. With a bit of forethought you can spend less and get them something better. My dad has done that for me repeatedly. I knew what he had gotten me (I had found a good BF price and showed it to him) but he still wouldn't give it to me till Christmas.
