  1. i wish more people knew about dell & newegg so people will stop buying desktops and laptops at best buy and circuit city. maybe that will make them lower their prices... hehehe
  2. well... i would say no doubt buying from dell is cheaper than buying individual comparable parts as dell buys their parts in bulk. for myself or a friend who plays either high-end pc games or video/sound editing, i have to choose my own everything to get the most out of my pc. i'll extensively read reviews on the latest motherboards/video cards/processors... and i'll get what i can afford but i usually end up setting up a pretty nice pc.
  3. i agree with you completely. i tell people the same thing. because most people that ask me really don't know too much about computers or hardly play any high-end games/do photo/video editing. so i just tell them to buy a dell....
  4. yes, it may be cheaper, but i still build my own pc.... newegg > dell if you like customization.
  5. well, my wife, uses the computer for browsing the web (aka shopping), playing online poker, and basic word processing.... for $399. it's a steal!
  6. yup i'd def. buy this if i didn't have a desktop... like mrn8 says, buy the desktop and sell the LCD or vice versa if you want the LCD
  7. yes... that would be exactly what i'd do.... if i'm buying a laptop... i'd have to go all out... it's kinda like when i want to buy a car... i know it's expensive. but i'd rather go for the big new car...
  8. my laptop's screen is WUXGA... if the screen was at least a SXGA i might consider for me when it comes to laptops, it has to be a really good one... not just cheap in price... because it's not as upgradable as a desktop...
  9. the 5-6 alpha numeric code is to enter in a code to bring up a special on a desktop or a laptop. the coupon code is entered at checkout
  10. i actually ordered this printer a while back when i saw it on GD.... reviews are very precise. cons: it's loud pros: fast, good quality for the money overall: i love it. it's loud but so what?
  11. whoa eckerds have been bought out by CVS in houston long time ago...
  12. I rarely post here, but I just had to in this case. I, too, have heard a lot of bad reviews from tigerdirect, but I have bought from them countless times over the years. Never had a problem. I even returned a few items here and there. No RMA issue. Friendly customer service. I think maybe tigerdirect as far as customer service.... has gotten better over the years...
  13. you are damn right. no soup for them! guys, i know christmas is about giving and not receiving. but i'm the youngest of my family and i really go all out getting them presents. but i get jack! and they all are older, make more money, etc, it just goes on. i still have way more debt than any of them. so this year, touch luck on them. i'm just going all out for my fiance.
  14. :rant begin: screw my immediate family. all i care about now is my fiance. they always screw me over during christmas. :rant stop:
  15. i think you should. like mrn8 said, for me going from 3mp,3opt-zoom to 4-4 isn't that big of an upgrade, but for you it's 2MPto4MP... for under $150.... i'd do it....
  16. damn i want this so bad, but i already have a nikon 3700. 3mp,3x optical zoom... man an upgrade to a 4mp, 4x optical zoom would be so bad ass. =(
  17. yeah any dvd burner for around $40 is a good deal to me.
