Just a reminder - Hallmark Chanel kicks of their Christmas Movies tonight at 7pm CT with "A Princess for Christmas" and then they keep on coming! SO EXCITED!

This is the first year Sears will offer Black Friday deals two weeks early during a friends and family sale on Nov. 9. Certain items in apparel, appliances, tools and footwear will be available at a steeper "Black Friday" discount on top of the 5% to 15% discount that's part of the friends and family event, a spokesperson says.

Office Depot and OfficeMax will also start holiday deals this weekend, with savings on laptops and touchscreen computers from Nov. 2-15. The stores will also have Cyber Monday deals every Monday in November, the company said Thursday.

Looks like Amazon isn't the only one with a starting date of November 1st... Newegg has announced its upcoming Black November Sale. Beginning November 1, Newegg will offer discounts on hundreds of items weekly from categories such as TVs, audio, computer peripherals and accessories, and more. Plus, on November 1 and 2, Newegg will take $20 off orders of $200 or more when you pay using PayPal.

It depends - some have been - some haven't been... about 3 years ago my daughter went to 3 Walmarts hunting for one of the TVs that was on sale and couldn't find it anywhere - I was able to get it during a lightning deal on Amazon (they LOVE to meet and beat Walmart's prices) for her cheaper than Walmart had it for - no tax and delivered free... she was VERY happy!

My tips are for Online Shopping... 1) Watch each ad as it comes out and use the "My Shopping List" tool that Gottadeal provides to mark the items that you want. 2) Use the comparison charts that Gottadeal provides to make sure you are getting the best price. 3) Find out when the online sales start - many can start at early as Wednesday 4) Keep an eye out in advance of the sales for other store meeting or beating the Black Friday sales of their competitors ads (this happens more often then you think, and you will often find the heads up on the Gottadeal forums.) 5) Familiarize yourself with each site's shipping prices and return policies beforehand. 6) Be logged in and ready on the sites you are going to buy from in advance of the sale start times as you may loose hot items in your cart while hunting for passwords and such. 7) Have LOTS of coffee ready to help keep you awake!
