  1. I found most of them will be in the Thursday and some will be in Sunday. I never really noticed the ones in between since I never got newspapers other than those 2 days.
  2. haha how cute... I feel like calling it that now O_O
  3. There were adapters to connect your laptop to tv before the convenience of a HDMI port. It uses different cables though. I suggest you look it up and see if they match. I'm not really familiar with it but yupp you should be able to find something.
  4. I agree with previous posters, go ahead and head out. Usually it will be chaos around midnight. After a few hours that will die down and the employees will start collecting all of the crap left in random aisles. I went to Wal-Mart at Midnight and got a bunch of DVDs. Some of which were hard to find. We went back later in the day to see the damage and there were carts full of games/DVDs people decided they didn't want anymore. I went through them and found almost everything I got earlier and then some. I think I ended up getting a few more things.
  5. I'm actually really disappointed in prices for laptops this year. None of the laptop prices are spectacular. They're pretty much the same prices you could have gotten anytime since the middle of this past year.
  6. I'm also on the fence about the sale times being moved up. Last year was kind of fun being at Wal-mart for midnight but I agree that it took a toll on me and I ended up getting home earlier on Black Friday than I had in the past. We used to go out at around 3 AM after a few hours of sleep and stand in line for 5 AM openings. It was nice getting a few hours of sleep. The way this is... you're up all of Thanksgiving then the next day. Sure you get SOME of your shopping done earlier which is nice but if you want to go to other stores you're staying up for over 24 hours.
  7. I really want the tv $199.99 but I wouldn't give up my thanksgiving so sad. I'm not that excited about laptop deals this year. The prices are pretty much the same as the rest of this past year (other than the special ones that are really cheap and outdated ones that are under $200). I wouldn't get anything less than an i3 processor and even that is steadily becoming obsolete. Those laptops are good if you're just browsing the internet and checking e-mail. Playing various medias on them though could get iffy.
  8. Has anyone seen any of the smart touch style gloves on sale. These are the gloves that you can use with smart phones, ipods, etc that have the special threads sewn onto the pointing finger and thumb. I'd especially like the ones made by Echo but I'm also interested in the Isotoners. Any help would be greatly appreciated
  9. Actually, I just got an email today saying that Mimoco is having 20% off mimobots for this week and 10% off Star Wars mimobots. Free shipping with $40 purchase or more. http://www.mimoco.com/shop/
  10. Right now I'm not sure if there are any deals around for them. The price also depends on which one you want to get. I think the cheapest ones are $24.95 for a 2GB. If you spend over $30 you'll get free shipping. Yesterday they were having a sale with everything 30% off for Cyber Monday (so it was around $17-$18) but that's the cheapest I've seen them for. I haven't run across any other sales that could be applied to them at the moment. To be honest, they're really cheap compared to when they first came out. You have to remember that these are collectibles and are available in limited runs. If I come across any stores selling them that have a coupon I'll post. You might want to check out stores that sell designer toys since they're pretty popular in the vinyl toy community. Hope you find one!
  11. My black friday experience this year started online again on thanksgiving :) As for physical stores... I went to Wal-Mart for their midnight sale. I stayed by the DVDs because that's what I really wanted. We got there around 11 and the parking lot was full. We have a huge Wal-Mart Supercenter so that was kind of amazing. The staff handling DVDs and Games were really strict about the 12:01 AM restriction. Apparently the other side of the store let people start grabbing stuff at 11:30 PM so we had a huge flood of people coming to the DVDs before they let us get them which kind of sucked. After that my brother and I got into line for the $198 eMachine. They wouldn't give each of us a ticket (we're both older than 21 too!) so I stood in line while my brother sent my mom over (she was checking out with the DVDs). We managed to be in the last group for tickets. It was fairly nice because after we stood there for another hour, they gave wrist bands at 2 AM so we could go off and eat/buy/etc. Apparently, if you didnt come from 5-6 AM then they'd sell extras at 6 AM. There was a jerk in our line though. A man came by and he didn't have a ticket. A woman decided to give him her extra ticket. She handed it to a guy in between (she thought they were in the same party) to give it to him. But, he decided to take it. Even when they other guy asked for it he said "sorry man it's called sticky fingers" and called up his buddy to get in line with him. The poor guy even offered $20 for the ticket and the jerk still said no. So I kind of loudly told the woman what he had done and luckily another person had a ticket they weren't going to use so the guy who was supposed to get the ticket got it. Everyone in the end of the line heard what the jerk did and hopefully he felt guilt or embarrassed so it made me happier.
  12. I have to agree. I started going out on Black Friday with my mom back in late 90s. I was still in elementary/middle school and we'd be one of the first people out there. No one ever camped out. We'd go to JC Penney and get the snow globe (when they started their yearly tradition), Mervyn's for their figure and/or gift card, Sears for a gift card, and a few other stops. THEN we went back to JC Penney and did actual shopping and the other stores when we got all the freebies. So many stores had the "be in the first 100 and get this" and you could hit up every single one of them and be in that first group. You also made friends with the people in line because there were only about 10-15 of you at only one entrance None of the multiple lines, some doors open faster than others, trampling people to death sort of shenanigans. Now, we have to strategically plan where/when we're going. Split up the stores, split up the products, go your separate ways and run to find everything you need. Someone gets in line before we actually "finish" shopping so we have to only wait for an hour to check out rather than two. But I guess that's part of the experience. I miss Circuit City because it alleviated some crowding at Best Buy.
  13. I didn't get a CC ad either. I'm kinda sad That's going to be my first stop pretty much too. Didn't get gamestop either
  14. someone shoulda just blocked their view w/ a group of people or car then chucked their chairs that's messed up IMO... standing in teh freezing cold is part of the fun and tradition of black friday or someone else could just claim the chair as their own and everyone could look the other way :) I mean if they're not their to claim and protect their property rightfully anyone could claim it was abandoned on the side of a curb.
  15. did anyone manage to get the Frys ad from San Diego or San Marcos?
