  1. Thanks guys :) I think the baby I had as a kid was a preemie. My kids play with him now. No, actually...didn't the preemies have soft bodies? Like bean bag or something. Ugh. Now I'm confusing myself :) So, do they sell the CPK NEWBORN that is in the Walmart ad anywhere else? When I searched Ebay for Cabbage Patch NEWBORN the Walmart packaging (laying down with a red bow) is the only one that comes up and almost all of the sellers are in Canada. When I search NIB BABIES the ones that I see now at TRU, Walmart, Target are the ones that come up (in a similar box to the 'kids'). I don't think they sell preemies now a days, do they? I'll have to go search and see what I can find. Why not add a third kinda 'baby' to confuse me :) Who knew a dumb doll could be so much trouble
  2. Sears was CRAZY last year when they were giving out those GC! Our store has 3 outside enterances and 2 mall enterances, so we waited at the upstairs mall one. There was a nice orderly line and figured they would just give a GC as people walked through the door until they ran out. NOPE! They gave them out downstairs in the tool department. People were literally JUMPING off the escalator into the crowd of people trying to get GC. It was insane.
  3. The bus is cute...but personally... I would get either My first LeapPad, Fridge Phonics, Lovable Lily, or Little Leap (Lovable Lily and Little Leap are stuff animals that talk/sing).
  4. I noticed the $10 Cabbage Patch from the walmart ad is in a different packaging (laying down instead of sitting up) then the babies I see in stores now. I was trying to figure out what the diffence was between the two and realized the Walmart CP is a NEWBORN. Does anyone know what the difference is between the two? Looks like baby might come with a blanket and bottle and such?? Also looks like they can 'hold' a bottle and binky in their mouth. Are they the same size doll? Any CPK experts care to enlighten me
  5. They didn't have any sales or anything when they got bought out. They kept the same employees and everything (well, at least the people I see at the mall). The biggest change (actually, the only change *I* notice) is the kids clothing. A whole lot more of it, and Childrens Place quality/style. They sell plain jeans for boys/girls now too which I think is a little odd (they're just jeans, no Disney theme). Anyways, that's all the change I've noticed :)
  6. They were bought out by another company. I wonder if that will effect their sales? I don't believe the new company (the company that owns 'The Childrens Place') had taken over yet last years BF. I don't recall what they did last year, but it wasn't special enough for me to bother going in (even though I walked right past it...have small children that enjoy that kinda stuff, etc). It was crowded though, so other people obviously thought it was special (some people go crazy over really stupid stuff IMO ).
  7. I completely agree with you. Especially considering that many people that work at stores such as Walmart during the holidays are doing so because they NEED THE MONEY! They have a 'regular' job and work retail because the hours work around their 'regular' job hours. My husband works almost every holiday. They fight over who gets to work the holidays. Can't beat overtime for regular work. This year we'll have Thanksgiving lunch as he's working a night shift that day.
  8. The Little People Zoo and Noahs Arc at Walmart. $10 each. Also the $5 Fisher Price medical/dr kit (Walmart too I think).
  9. Yep. The Sears one is the ABC zoo. Lots more animals and it 'does' stuff. The Walmart one is the 'old' regular zoo.
  10. I don't think people understand that hte prices at Target aren't doorbusters. There's always a huge line at my Target. I've ALWAYS been able to find what I want later in the day, even the next day though. The ONLY time I couldn't find what I wanted I got a raincheck for the item (DVD player) and got that % of another item. Well, of course I picked a much NICER DVD player with my 40% off DVD player coupon :) Does anyone know if Target still does the raincheck for similar item thing?
  11. I haven't seen BF deals on the leapster games, but they do go onsale sometimes for $19.99. I would bet my life that they will again sometime before Xmas :) Not sure if the new Lmax games are included in those sales.
  12. I need 1 CPK baby :) Other then that it's all just for fun :)
  13. I've got a question for you! I was actually looking for a thread on this so I'm glad you mentioned it :) I've never done the layaway thing at Walmart, how does that work and how does it work with BF. You say the line was huge That sure doesn't seem fun, but I guess since you know that you are getting what you want it is worth it???
  14. You won't regret getting the leapster. They are AWSOME! My girls (4 and 6) each have one and they're definatly a favorite toy. I do wish we had the Lmax because they like to play together (one playing and other other cheering her sis on ) but since we already have 2 of the old style we'll just stick with what we have.
  15. It depends on the store. For the most part, the 'masses' will let you know EXACLTY where the line is. Follow their directions or they'll eat you alive! Some stores that have smaller lines, like Office Stores, etc, will have the few people that are a real line right outside the door and then a group of less enthusiastic people just kind of huddled waiting for the doors to open...kinda letting the line people know that we all know they go first, and then the rest of us can come in. But...like I said, DONT mess with the people at Walmart, TRU, BB, Circuit City! One thing though about Walmart. At least at ours they often form a line going to only ONE door and then the line for another store (TRU in our case) kind of comes out and passes the other enterance to Walmart. When the store opens, they open both sets of doors so you just have to excuse yourself past the TRU people and you get in right away and have first dibs on that 1/2 of the store :)
  16. Ahh. I hope SAMs has some killer deals :) Last year our Walmart had coffee. There was a table set up about 1/2 way through the line and they had coffee to pass out. First time I've ever seen that so I was pretty suprised!
