    Mervyn's

Did anyone get a Mervyns ad in the paper? I was shocked that there wasn't one in either of my papers (LA Times and Daily News), but did notice an ad in the Times saying saying there were errors in the ad. I wondered if they left the ads out because of those errors.
  2. FYI on the handsoaps. Last year they were 4/$10 BF and $5/10 the day AFTER BF. Alot of people had a hard time getting PA.
  3. They're onsale at Mervyns for $6 IIRC and they have a better selection.
  4. LeapPad does have a Thomas book. Not sure about My First LeapPad. LeapPad books are $7.88 at Kohls. The ad says off of all LeapPad games, so I was able to PM at Kohls who has a MUCH better selection then Kohls.
  5. I don't really do a set amount. My girls are young (4 and 6) I imagine if they were older they might get a computer or game system or something and that would make the $$ amount go up a bunch. I also don't do the same amount per kid thing YET. I try to go for an even amount of toys they've be happy about. Like older daughter will be getting a $100 American Girl doll for chirstmas (Ouch!) and younger daughter will get a $10 CPK. They'll be equally excited though. I've spent $300 between the two of them so far. That includes the $100 doll, Disney Princes TV/DVD for them to share, so about $100 on misc stuff.
  6. My sister bought some today 3/$10 (even though I told her not to cause they go 5/$10 often during the holidays!). Anyways, can she get a PA tomorrow? Will they let her pick up 2 more or whatever?
  7. I know ours was still PMing up until a few months ago. I just went in to PM something last week and learned they don't PM anymore. So, I went to Walmart today instead :)
  8. Walmart! As odd as that is to say.....I was super impressed with them this year. Browny points first of all for being the only one of the 'big box' stores willing to PM. Everything was super organized thismorning at our store. Lots of everything in the add. Lots of SAs around that knew where the ad items were. The only thing I was disappointed with was the efficiency of the PMs. They required a SM to to come put a key in the register and it was crowded and the SM were busy so you had to wait around (which didn't make the people behind me inline happy). Otherwise though, A+ to Walmart :)
  9. Yep. Those are the ones in the ad. According to the add the reg price is reg $12.50 each and the sale is 2/$20. They might be that 'sale' price all the time though.
  10. Which playsets? I happened to get a flyer in the mail today for the DS (with a 20% off coupon! I wonder if I can combine BF and the coupon??). Anyways, it says the figurines are 2/$20, are those the playsets your talking about?
  11. Please disregard if this is old news. I did look and didn't see anything. Just got back from the mall and they had a sign up. Sign says the store opens at 4, free select DVD (I remember Cinderella was one of them. There were I think 5 others) w/ $75 purchase. HTH someone. Not amazing to me, but if you feel like starting at 4am at least it gives you somewhere to go
  12. No BF ads in the L.A. daily news either. Plenty of ads for Wednesday sales, but nothing for BF :)
  13. Totally the Little People sets. If you don't end up with the BF one though, they have the newer zoo (each animal is an alphabet letter and it talks...I think it makes the letter sounds). Anyways, they have it onsale at Target this week I believe, and I'm sure they have it at Costco but I'm not sure of the price.
  14. I also saw it. Channel 5 KTLA (SoCal) during 7th Heaven :)

    MACY'S

I vote, don't believe a flunky department store manager. Just be patient and see what pans out :)
  16. Bummer! I looked up mine and we have the lower prices. I looked up the small town where the inlaws live. The ad doesn't come up there??? I suspect they got the high price.
  17. I went into TRU today to PM something from Target. They said they no longer PM Since WHEN!?! I know last year other people had problems with TRU and Kmart not PMing. I had no problem at TRU, and while Kmart SAID they wouldn't do it, after I pointed out the big sign that said they DID PM, they did it for me (the sign was covered in black tape the next time I went in ). Anyways, is this new? Was my store just being nice PMing for so long? What stores (that carry toys and/or CDs/DVDs) STILL PM? Is Walmart the only one left?
  18. Ours always come on Thanksgiving too, but IIRC last year some people got there's on Sunday. Maybe they're in areas that don't get paper delivery everyday though? We get our Walmart ad in the mail, I think Tuesday before Thanksgiving :)
  19. Macys does the $10 coupons and IMO has mediocre sales. Just the usual 50% off clearance blah blah. I think it even excludes designers (which are included every few sales...right now they're included). I think it's also an extra % off before 11:00. IMO not worth it except to spend your $10 coupon. Mervyns gives out a gift card to the first 200 people I think. It's only a $5 gift card. Here there's always a ton of people inline because they open later then most stores (7 I think) so people can do other shopping and then go wait in line. I don't bother for the $5 but do sometimes hit the sale later in the day or the following day. They do a decent sale IMO. Mostly just the usual 50% off sales they do all the time, but they do them all at the same time KWIM. Like 50% off jammies and kids jeans and side out and sweatshirts and rugs and towels and....
  20. Haven't seen them in any ads, but they have a set at both Costco and Sams club. Not sure of the price or configuration or anything, but worth checking out if you have a membership to either :)
  21. Husband will be working, so kids are Grandmas coming over to stay with the kids :)
  22. My kids have a nice, inexpensive, plain kitchen they've had for maybe 4 or 5 years. Theirs is the 'Family Kitchen' I think. It's the same 'base' as the cooking sounds kitchen but ours is girly colors and doesn't 'do' anything. Also where the cutting board is on the cooking sounds ours is a spot for baby to sit. Anyways, my kids use their kitchen often. They're 4 and 6 now and we've gotten plenty of use out of it and will probably get at least a few more years, at least with younger daughter. Another option, there's an adorable wooden kitchen at Costco for $95ish.
  23. You have to PA DURING the sale. So Friday/Saturday. If you come in Sunday and the Sunday price is full price, no adjustment for you.
  24. When we were inline in the mall there was actually a store in the mall that was already opened. I wanna say KBtoys? I think that's why the mall doors were open.
  25. Thanks! Our outlet is probably a little too far away for me to bother, but looks like they'll be some nice sales :) I'm wondering if anyone outlet regulars though could compare the 'midnight' sale pricing to the regular pricing. Like Vans states B1G1 1/2 off...but isn't that the everyday outlet deal?
