  1. I was going to go with the Toshiba 56", but I didnt know what kind of Financing Best Buy was going to have. Instead I got a 50" DLP Samsung free DVR recorder, and TV stand, with 24months no interest! Plus free shipping! It is missing the integrated cable card reader on the side, and it only does 720hd. O well Im still happy with the other fixins I got. DON
  2. I hope they offer 18months financing for T.V.s . I was going to buy one this year, hoping for 18 or 24 months. O well if they dont offer 18 months I can wait till next year. DON
  3. Hello, Can someone give me info on this TV. Is it a good tv? I like the price and the size (Little bigger than I wanted but Ill take it). Also I see it says Picture in Picture. Is this true or not? Also for HD is it 720 or 1080i? Sorry I tried to do some research on it last night but I fell out of my chair, and couldnt find many reviews on it. The ones I did find said it was great. Please help! DON
  4. 2gb Flash drive is a good deal. I am also lookin and thinkin about that $70 laser printer. I need a new printer.
  5. 76th street Best Buy is always orderly, and fun. The people out there are great 2 talk 2. Unfortunalty last year I didnt need any technology items at Best Buy (Damn IPOD). I was at Menards at 4AM waiting for them to open. 76th is the one 2 go 2. Even the employees have fun and are smiles before they open.
  6. It all really 2 depends on the size of your MP3 collection. I at first wanted a Nano, but my collection was at least 2gb larger so I went with the 20gb Ipod, and was happier. Im mad cause a couple of weeks later the vidoe one came out . O well I still love my pod (A guy at work calls me one of them pod people). The video pods from what I hear and see are Really good, so Ill suggest the video pod. If you want accessories for your Ipod I have found that both Circuit City and Best Buy have the greatest varieties (IE: Skins, Fm transmitters, car kits, larger batteries, alarm clock, and tv and car hookups). DON
  7. Honestly I think the sales this year (For me) were pretty dull. For the past 6 years I am always at Best Buy around 3 A.M. to buy something, and then Im off 2 the other stores. This year, Best Buy was my LAST store to go to, and that was 2 price match an Ipod alarm clock I wanted, I bought a super great laptop in July for $530 (After rebates), and then last week doubled my ram in it for another $40, and got 18 mths for paying it off. Every year, Id go to Menards right after Best Buy (Say around 6:00 or 6:30), then try to get some leftovers at Target, but that wasn't the case. All the places I mentioned, minus Best Buy the lots seemed like they were full when I'd get to the store, but I was only looking at the back of the lots where employees park. The rest of the lots were normal everyday shoppers and the bargain hunters avoiding the Walmart, Ciruit Citys, and Best Buys. O well just my 2cents. Hopefully next year though I will return to Best Buy and stand in line on November 24, 2006. DON

    MENARD'S deals

Menards was first on my list. I wasnt sure how busy they would be so I waited in my car since 4 A.M. I beat most of the staff there! I even had time 2 run and get a donut and cofee and come back. I got out of my car around 5:40 and ended being 3rd in line. Got: 2 squishy pillows 1 $2.77 Snow Shovel 1 Pizza oven (For my friend but I wish I wouldve got 1). A whopping total of less than $40. In and out within 15minutes! Very Helpful staff as well. The only casualty I had was I didnt take a cart and had 2 carry everything, and ended up losing a glove. I went 2day and they didnt have it. O well. DON
  9. I thought Id share 2 of my scam stories at the store I work at. AN elderly lady approaches me at the register with a bottle of drain cleaner. Policy states that returns are not accepted after 30days. She kept the recipt which was dated March 2003, and she was trying to return it around the middle of July 2003. Ok sometimes Ill break the rules and return things that are past 30 days, but when I picked up the bottle, it was half empty (or half full if u want)!!! I kindly told her I can't return a 1/2 bottle of drain cleaner. She was so persistent that it was full, and wanted her money back now. I even tried to show her it was 1/2 empty, thinking maybe she grabbed the wrong one or something. I called the manager over, and she starts arguing with him claiming this bottle is full. Finally she walks out leaves the bottle at the register. It was funny cause the customers behind her all were lauginhg and were all picking up the bottle and looking at it. The 2nd story is when I worked at a grocery store, and someone purchased a leg of lamb. They kept the receipt and complained that it was very very tough meat. Once the manager reviewed the meat, and the receipt he noticed that the receipt was over 4yrs old! She insisted that she bought it the day before. Well she must have known she was caught in a lie as she said, I'll just buy another one and I'll try this one. To this date a person who works there still has not seen her. Retail, there are days its the greatest job, or there are days you wonder why am I doing this? Full moon days are the worst! DON
  10. I can't get up!! Ralphhhhyyyyyyyyyyy! I can't get up!! A classic. Mark your Calenders, Christmas Eve - Christmas day, TBS will have 24 hours (12 airings) of a Christmas Story! :bounce_fl
  11. Mine didn't have hot food when I arrived (8:00 A.M.), but I didn't complain. 1 large chocolate chip muffin and an bottle of OJ. Mine had fruit, bagels, muffins, crossiants, oj, milk, coffee, and hot chocolate! It was all stuff from the store. BUT HEY IT WAS FREE it was good, and I didn't have to buy anything to get it. DON
  12. I mentioned in a different thread about this drill. I work for a True Value store, and we have a line of Master Mechanic 18v Power tools. I was going to buy our drill for $39.99, but then you had to buy the batter seprate ($19.99), and the charger seprate ($24.99), but then alll the Master Mechanic Tools were compatible with these batteries. BUT..... When I picked stuff up for my dad at HD, I ran back later and picked up a drill for me. I love it its great, but now I have nothing to drill yet . O well Ill destroy something and see. I love the 2 levels the drill has on the top and the back! Also the 24 variable speeds! ~insert Tim Allan grunts here~ DON
  13. Linens and Things had the Ihome alarm clock for $69.99. Later in the day I called up Kohls, as that is a store a family member works at, and they said I would have to come down and the manager would DECIDE if they would price match it or not. They said that this would be a huge loss to them! I heard that Kohls told their managers it was up to them if they wanted to PM or not. I went to Best Buy around 6:30 P.M. when it was slower and NO PROBLEMS! I got it Pm to that price plus I used a $10 gift card, and charged it to my Best Buy card! I was verrrrrrrryyyyyy Happy. I LOVE BEST BUY! DON
  14. Here is what time I was somewhere and what I got: Menards (Midwest Hardware Store) *** The ONLY person in the lot at 4:00 A.M.!! I even beat the manager, and employess :). Stayed in the car till 5:40, ended up being 4th in line. Great people to talk to! Purchased: $28.86 Pizza Oven (2) Plush Pillows ($3.00ea) Snow Shovel ($2.77) I know itll break with the first heavy snow, but what do u expect! Departed 6:15 A.M. Home Depot (Stop 1) Arrival 6:23 Also was told I looked like Tony Stewart! Especially cause I was wearing my Home Depot Jacket (Bad Idea, people started asking me in the lot where stuff was, and if it was sumthin I bought I told them, but the rest I told them I dont work for them I work for a True Value). Purchased 1 ($50 or so) of those short ladders 1 $60 Gas powered leaf blower 1 $3.50 piece of wood (Not on sale) Departed 6:45 7:00 AM Home - Unload my wittle car and backout for shopping Target Arrival 7:20 A.M. 15. I didnt go this year to BB but the one here in Greenfield WI is VERY COOL! Every year I go the staff is very helpful, and the past year they had sugar cookies and donuts! I drove by this morning for the heck of it and around 3:45 the line snaked all the way to the back fence where all the apartments are. Im guessing by 4:15 they were already past the TGI Fridays resturaunt. Anyways if anyone can tell me how it was this year being inline (Besides Cold), it would be cool. Everytime I went they rope off the handicapp acessabile entry ramp in front of the main door (Until the line disappears), and have like 3 people standing within like 20 Feet at the entrance, to chase away line jumpers, and late arrivals. TO really make sure there is no aggression, some stands at the IN door that is open for single person entry. Seems like the WI Best Buys Really strive in the safety of their customers. DON
  16. This Drill is SWEEEETT!!! I havent used it yet, but taking it out of the box and trying it out, it has some serious power! It also has a magnetic plate for screws, or bits, and has 2 levels (One on the top, and one on the back). Flash light is cool 2 but I only wanted the drill. When I picked up the box Im like, I really dont want the flashlight but it comes with the drill so Ill take it. The ladder was a very hot item as well. When I got there, they were gone. Some people had 2 of them in their carts. As I as on the phone with my dad, I was chasing after one of the employees who was bringing out a 1/2 of a pallet of them. I did like everyone else and as he was rolling, Id grab one. DON If u can HURRY BACK and get the drill. Its GREAT!
  17. Milwaukee Wisconsin the low tonight is supposed to be 14 degrees and the windchill factor of 0 or below. Good thing I bought a 4 pack of Hot Hands (Pocket sized warmers) at Kmart this morning! Im going to be standing inline at Menards around 4 A.M. Doors open at 6. I want my $30 pizza oven :) . Everything else I wanted (and a few other impulses) were purchased online from Radio Shack and Best Buy. Stay safe and warm DON
  18. Ok, so I just got done watching the Simpsons here in Milwaukee WI, and a Walmart commercial aired. It advertised the Mp3 player at the $99.73 or whatever it wase, the Star Wars Light Saber $8, and the Garth Brooks box set for $25. At the end of the commercial I caught some information out of the corner of my eye. Prices Not valid in Hawaii, Alaska, and Wisconsin! I wasn't planning on going to Walmart anyways, but just a heads up for cheeseheads. DRIVE 2 MINNESOTA, or ILLINOIS! Stick it 2 the man Ok, enough bickering, time to fill out my rebates, and see what Radio Shack will have on sale. DON
  19. The Comp Usa out in Brookfield Wisconsin was a trip as well. Since I had to work tonight, a guy from work ran out there when I told him about the sale. HE went to go buy me the memory they had for $29.99 . It took the associates about 20 minutes. They at first told him it was in the locked cabinet, and he looked and looked and looked. NOPE! Then they tried to tell him there was no such sale of that item (Till he showed them the printout I gave him). Then after searching around they found it in the stock room, where it wasn't even put out for sale! ~cookoo~ Is Comp USA usually like this anywhere else? I went to go buy the Targus cooling pad for my laptop on Sunday, and didnt even see the sale sticker for it. I wasn't sure if it was the right one or not till I got to the register. Im glad I didnt go after work, I would have been tired and pissed off. DON
  20. Every Year I miss out on playing with my new technology and other stuff on Black Friday. Work always wants me 2 come in when Im done shopping, or no later than 4 P.M. This year I asked off for the ENTIRE weekend ( A lie saying I was going 2 c Family in a different state) so I can enjoy my new stuff and get some sleep! DON
  21. These pics get my blood pumping as well! Hopefully the 1812 overture plays in my head as Im hyped up with Mountain Dew, going in to Best Buy at 5 A.M.! DON

    Home Depot BF

I know the answer will be wait till Thursday, but I was curious if anyone knows anything for the Home Depot Ad. I went there today and they had a Magnavox 20" tv already priced around $99. On the box someone wrote on it "Black Friday Item". So here is one item. Im hoping there is a reasonable Cordless power tool set on sale :). DON
  23. I house sit for my sister Thanksgiving, and every year I ask for the same beverage of choice..... MOUNTAIN DEW! When I leave to go stand in line I drink a dew. WHen Im waiting in line, chances are I have one in my pocket to drink at exactly 30 minutes b4 the doors open. #1 This gives me the rush like Popeye when he eats spinach! #2 I will get hyped up on sugar dodging and scrambling around others like they are tackling dummies in a football drill. Finally #3 I get the energy to shop till appx 11 A.M. as I start to crash cause I havent eaten anything since 9pm Thanksgiving night. DON
  24. I was also at my Best Buy tonight. I saw approximatley 39 (One was purchased) of the Curtis 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround Sound. It seemd to be a very nice model. I did not see one on display though . It was in 2 locations, one was the home theater area, and one was in the main aisle on a pallet. Obviously these will be moved for Friday (Possibly built up as a wall for the checkout lines. I also witnessed 11 (One was purchased or somewhere) of the Dynex 8-outlet Power Supply. It is a VERY nice model for its price, especially if the unit fails you are covered up to $100,000! This was found with all the other Power Supplies and battery backups with no price tag. DON P.S. I did not look at any of the computers of TVs.
  25. The Circuit City I go to in Greenfield Wisconsin is right across the street from Best Buy. The past few years there would be a REALLY small line (10 or so people) at Circuit City 2hrs before they open, an hour before they would open it would be like 50 people or more. After Id get out of Best Buy and do a suicide run across the busy street Circuity City would be packed all the good donuts were gone (Except plain), and the coffee was cold. Deal wise, I would be able to pickup one or two of the dvds or video games I'd want. This may change for me now as Circuit City has gotten my attention this year on the better deals. My suggestion is if u want something Big or think its going to go fast, get there as early as possible! 11p.m. around here you would be first in line, and that sounds like a great strategy to me. DON 4year B/F shopper and the tradition grows!
