  1. they often have Florida resident discount days. Are you a member of a group (AAA, AARP?)? A student at a college? (I know UCF offered student discounts). Our local library has season passes to lots of parks - might be worth a check.
  2. great find! I'm thinking about this - http://shopping.discovery.com/product-57642.html
  3. I stay with family in Orlando - it means a longer drive to get to the park, and noe of the perks of a hotel, but it is usually a much better deal :)
  4. I used to work at the tax dept - and in my personal experience most returns that were prepared by a 'professional' that contained errors were prepared by H&R block. This may not be accurate - or your experience - but I would never hire them due to what I saw.
  5. subscriptions make it easier to track a thread. You can choose how you want to be notified when there is a new post in a thread you are subscribed to: Email, no email (you can check by clicking control panel), etc. Subscriptions are a wonderful thing
  6. are we looking for mainly sitting (couch) or sleeping? Just a mattress- or frame too? Futons are one of those things around campus that get passed along, and with patience can be gotten for free. If it is not for sleeping on - walmart or kmart - or the like - tend to have them for under or about $100. They are not particularly comfortable, tho.
  7. we pre-ordered wiiplay :) we can wait the extra few weeks.
  8. I'd go back for the 10%. In stock is a normal requirement
  9. My MIL and I never got along well. I married her baby. her only boy, and I was/am not outgoing. (well, I am, but not in a way she was used to) I had a different background, a different religion, and a different view on life. She once bought me a shirt (no one buys me clothes... ) I didn't care for it. I thanked her. She's been dead for more than 6 years now. I still wear the shirt. It is not my style. I get compliments on it. It is a shirt, it is deccent quality, and my DH and kids know she bought it. I've had plenty of years where I didn't get gifts from anyone ... at least not anyone who wasn't paid to deal with me. A sweater from a social worker a constantly chellenged, a bracelet from my lawyer, a mug from the staff at the group home I was at. You don't think your kids are close enough to their grandparents - help them write letters - tell the grandparents about their life, give them the invitation into it. Your child will get practice at a useful skill, they may get a friend, or a grandparent out of it, and they might get some mail too! It is not just one sides responisbility to get to know the other. I'm going to stop reading this thread now. As for the OP - I like the idea of buying the toy and returning the defective one with the reciept.
  10. You have to live with yourself. If it makes you uncofortable enough to ask us - you have your answer
  11. let me ask you this - if it is not the thought that counts - would it be better if they didn't give your kids anything? My 9 yr old has the right philosphy - as we were preparing both kids for the presents that come I asked " what do you do if you get a present you don't like?" - her reply "that's virtually impossible!"
  12. It is the thought that counts. I usually forget to give people the gift reciept - though I have it. Have you tried asking? tell her the toy is broken, and the child would like to exhange it - does she have the receipt, or gift receipt?
  13. http://www.staples.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/StaplesProductDisplay?prodCatType=1&storeId=10001&catalogId=10051&langId=-1&productId=150231&cmArea=SEARCH Like I said, they are ok. I use regular headphones most of the time, but the earbuds (with this attachment) when I need small and compact. I am not recomending them.... I don't like them that much. I can tell you I was worried about the small pieces falling off, and they are very secure, so that has not been an issue. Good luck. http://www.staples.com/sbd/img/cat/std/s0145299_std.jpg
  14. I found some Ijam earbud attachment thingies at staples, that funnel the sound into a smaller piece (using the original earbuds) I think they are ok, not great, but ok. I have small ears, earbuds are not my favorite.
  15. we have 1 that didn't make the trip down - we will mail it.
  16. I can send you codes for 4 free songs on connect
  17. It was quieter than we expected. DS woke up at midnight and spent the night vomiting. So many fewer people came to visit - trying to limit the # of infections :)
  18. c'mon.... lets trade - you can use these to get songs for that new MP3 player you got! Itunes credits, coke points, send me some lovin'
  19. I don't feel bad - it is a known job hazard. :) The tickets would be a nice gesture.
  20. nice when companies come through - huh?
  21. I love that apple responded as they did. wonderful experience People with attitudes like this ruin it for the rest of us.
  22. with all the kids, commotion and noise, things would be going on and off all the time around here!
  23. I would package up all the cordless screwdrivers that are extra and donate them to habitat for humanity or use them for a gift exchange at work/church. I am sorry for the added medical stress at this time of year.
  24. I got 3 which arrived last night! i love ordering by phone. Nice things for 10$
