  1. You can also order them directly from www.apple.com or go to the apple store and get a 10% student discount. Amie
  2. Lifted from another board...YMMV - 50 Barnes & Noble test drive offer via snailmail. It's in the back of a booklet titled "Goodness". You have to unfold the last page of the booklet in order to realize it's a test drive offer. It requires a dealer business card & expires 11/30. Oh, it also comes with a free t-shirt. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Looks like you need to request a brochure for a New VW Beetle or New Beetle Convertible. I did a search & the booklet is called Goodness. Request brochure here - http://www.vw.com/newbeetlecon/brochures_index.html Amie
  3. Some of them do, but you have to subscribe to an offer and then refer others and they have to subscribe to an offer. It is almost like a pyramid scheme. Amie
  4. My Grandmother used to take me shopping the day after Thanksgiving long before I knew what Black Friday was. I sure could make $20 go a long way in the early 80s! Then came high school & college in the early 90s which meant working retail every year for Black Friday. Amie
  5. Here if you ordered one large at regular price you got another for a quarter. Amie
  6. Dell.com has cute feminine bags. http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productlisting.aspx?c=us&l=en&cs=19&category_id=5492&first=true Amie
  7. They are still going to offer deals, just not the 40% we saw in the past. Amie
  8. I'm not sure of the specifics, but it seems she let a great guy get away...the "great woman" for you is still out there, probably looking for her "great man". Amie
  9. I have one trick for Sears (at least it worked for me last year) if you are interested in a large item (think 27 in TV). Take the sale paper with you. As soon as they open the doors go straight to a register, show the the ad and they will ring you up using the sku in the ad. You can then go and pick the item up from the mercandise pick-up. This may work at other stores that have merchandise pickup like Circuit City..YMMV. Amie
  10. A friend and I meet at the Waffle House across from the Mall & Circuit City at 4am to eat breakfast and go over our notes as to what we are going to buy. Last year I cut the pictures out of ads of everything that I wanted to look for. I pasted them to paper and took them with me. It really helped when we got to Sears for a TV and DVD player that was on sale. While all of the other shoppers were frantically trying to find those 2 items I was able to go straight to the register and show her my copy of the ad. Both items had the sku listed so she was able to ring it up. I was the first one in line because I ran straight to the register. I plan on doing that again this year. Amie
  11. I could not figure out which cord it was so I finally called Dell. Stupid me...it is still under warranty since I just bought it in November...they are sending me one for free. Should be here in 2 days. I love Dell! Amie
  12. Is there any way that you could include info about the contest in the email generated after a new user signs up that allows them to confirm their membership? The email would invite them to the forum. Amie
  13. I didn't realize that I wasn't logged in at work~!
  14. I noticed tonight that I have a bad spot on my AC power adapter cord. I need to buy a replacement immediately. I have looked at Dell.com and cannot find the part. I have an Inspiron 1000 and the part number is n5825 and it is PA-16 family. If there is a good deal out there I am not set on purchasing it from Dell, so if you find a good deal let me know. TIA, Amie
  15. In regards to keeping more of the newbies that register around as regular posters: what about if you have some type of contest that encourages posts strictly from new members. Maybe say anyone that registers after November 1 is eligible. They must post X (maybe 5?) amount of times between Nov. 1 and the day after Black Friday and at least one of those posts must be a new thread that introduces themselves to everyone (This type of post will result in existing members posting responses and hopefully the newbie will want to hang around since they are meeting nice people on a more personal level) and one post must be in the "Tell us about your BF deals" type thread. I also discovered Gottadeal last Black Friday. I lurked for several days before I ever made a post. It was the nice people here that resulted in my initial post. I think so many people are burned on other forums by meanhearted people that they automatically assume GD is the same when it is just the opposite. If you can keep the lurkers here long enough then chances are a lot of them will stay around once they come out of their shell. Disclaimer: I know absolutely nothing about how to draw people to and keep people coming back to a website! I may be completely offbase with the contest idea. It is something similar to the type of thing that I do in my classroom, and that usually works...but that doesn't mean it will work for a deals site. Amie
  16. According to the other site, these are mainly at stores that are having a grand opening on Sunday. Someone called one store and they had 20 or so, but they were not willing to put them out and sell them until Sunday. OD did pull one of the rebates too. Now it says that it was only valid through Jan. 5. According to the rebate it was valid through the end of the month. I wish at least someone could get one! Amie
  17. Aaron, I don't know first hand, but that is what they are saying on the other board. Amie
  18. Not sure on the video card, but I did just see this on the other board I found the original post at: "I confirmed the offers myself. I called the Office Depot toll free number and I also called the rebate center. BOTH rebates are valid and can both be used. The $250 rebate is offer #OD1000257 The $200 rebate is offer # OD1000247 They have also posted a $50 one to use ON TOP OF THESE on their website now!!!!!!! You can print that one from officedepot.com it's listed under rebates - systemax" Amie
