The only rebate I had this year was for Vista with the computers I got. I always send in rebates the week after BF. One tip I would like to pass on is that when I do rebates I always use the automated postal machine at the post office to buy stamps. That way the stamp they give you is dated. Once I stamp the rebates I photo copy the envelopes and keep that copy with the copies of the sales tickets and rebate forms. After that I mail them off. I had some Indian friends of mine in my group and all of the Indians who drove by would come up to them and ask in Hindi what was going on and if they were late for the deals. My friend would give me a signal if they asked if they can cut in line and in Hindi I would tell them no. That freaked them out so they would leave.

Welcome to the community! This BF was not like last year. The ads officially were released by the respected stores early, the media did alot of stories on BF and becuase of that people started to line up much early. It used to be 6pm on Thursday would get you in the first 5 but this year at 6pm you were number 100.

For the people who did recon/intel before BF did that help anyone? For me it helped alot and I got everything I wanted.

I was in Plano and the weather was nice this year compared to last BF.

I will be at BB next year. I will get there Wednesday night next year.

At the BB in Dallas Texas they were doing this. I was shocked. They said only the 270.00 laptop only had a recover CD.

I think the reason that there were so many line line early was the meida hype which was strong this year and BB releasing there ad on Tuesday on there website. The first person in my line was there at 7pm on Wednesday. I was there around noon on Thursday. There were around 1000 people in line around 5pm on Thursday.

I agree. Other then that I really loved the sub forums for the different stores.

My BB had about 1000 of them and they went with in 10 min.

At the store I was at they did not price match and had to call the police because some big guy refused to leave because they did not price match.

Welcome to the community! I would have someone from BB in a BB shirt do line patrol. That is the best way to do it but I can see BB saying that they wont do it because there is a chance there person could get hurt. I have a feeling next year that the line will form on Wednesday.

Mark my words. It will be different next year. There is a chance the stores might stop a print ad of the BF ad and might go to a online only one. Also I think that people will start to line up early next year. The Best Buy I went too the first 2 people were in line at 10:30pm local time on Wednesday. I was the 7th in line at 12 noon local time on Thursday. We will have to change our tactics next year. Good luck and remember that Gottadeal.com is open year around with tons of deals!

The ticket system at my BB worked great. About 10 min before they started the tickets about 20 police officers showed up in riot gear with batons and helmets. The officers also had gas mask bags on them as well. They passed out the tickets and had no problems.

The BB I was at had 100 of them and they went within 10 minutes.

BB in Texas had around 1500 people in it by 12 midnight.
