I just got the Family Christian stores flyer in the mail and will be going over that tonight. They have their Black Friday specials listed.

TRU was the first a few years ago who started all this with a 10pm open time. If shoppers show up they will keep pushing the times to an early start time.

I corrected it. The way things are going in 2 years it maybe 5am!

Yes I know this. Right now on BB FB page there are around 25 comments about the early opening. On the TRU page there are thousands of postings. When the TRU time broke they were getting over 100 responces on FB and Twiiter a minute.

You are put on display like a caged animal. I have been there as early as Saturday before Black Friday. The customers will come up, talk to you and take your picture. They will even call their friends and point at you. You will be on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. As far as the employees are concerned they will come out, chat with you and hang with you. As long as you do not disrupt the operations of the store they do not mind or care. You are free marketing to the store. I see the lines forming as early was Sunday now.

I do not see a backlash that TRU had. Reason being is most of the people in line at BB are teens, college students, males and crazies like me. Most of the people who shop at TRU are parents. I did not see this coming nor my contact at BB. He told me this was made early this morning.

MOST stores have Black Friday/Timed Sales/Doorbuster clauses. When dealing with computer systems (desktops/laptops/netbooks) the stores and manufacturers will create special sku and model numbers. I would go to each stores website and look for PM or PA policy. I hope this helps.

If the same deal is at Lowes I would go to Lowes. The Lowes around here are dead on BF. Also try Lowes online. I was able to get a lot of the deals and doorbusters 12 after the sale started.

We will have a webcast this Saturday. The main reason I did not have a webcast for TRU is that I am a single guy who does not buy toys. I did not want to sit there and have no answers. We will go over the ad on Saturday as I have been reading up.

I could see two problems with this. 1. The safety issue if the flag gets borken off it could hurt someone or even you. 2. You could be a target of shoppers who see this flag and might mistake it for an offical something and take items out of your cart or try to start something. Other then that it is a good idea.

It is a little too early for the online thread. A week to 10 days before Black Friday Brad will open up the special online sale forums.

Big Jim Tip: If you have a flag pole and fly the stars and bars you can get a real nice flag with the 50% off coupon on Saturday. Ace sells the Valley Forge 3x5 nylon flag for around $24.99. They are very strong and well made flags.

Look for one that does several trucking systems. I am noticing a lot of public safety agency's going to trucking systems.
