  1. Disappointed!!! I was at Walmart two hours before the sale began. For whatever reason they did things differently this year and did not bring out the pallets until 4:30 am (that is when they started). I don't know that they ever got everything onto the floor before 5 am. Store was extremely crowded and people in Electronics (customers) were getting upset at waiting. I decided to leave and try my luck elsewhere. They did not hand out fliers for the "secret" items until almost 5 am but there was nothing on the fliers that was not listed here first.
  2. We arrived at 3 am and were the second/third in line. About 30 minutes prior to opening they came out with the coupons/tickets for the big ticket items. Our line was extremely long (I would say 200 people.....in fact I was in and out fairly quickly while the line of people were still coming inside. We got the TV (after driving by CC and Best Buy at 8pm last night and seeing the lines already around the building we decided Staples would be the best bet). Unfortunately, we did not have a doorbuster laptop in our area. I, again this year, was impressed with the way Staples handles Black Friday. I went to Walmart and again was disappointed with their attempt at crowd control.
  3. Last year I arrived about an hour before the store opened and I was tenth in line. This year I plan on going earlier just to make sure. Our Staples was very organized last year and handed out coupons for all of the big ticket items while we waited in line. So before the store opened you knew whether or not you would be able to get the item you wanted. When the store opened, you walked to the back of the store and took your coupons to an associate who was at the door to the stockroom. You were handed the items you had coupons for and checked out at the front. I was in and out in twenty minutes which included loading a desk in my car. I hope they do something similar this year....it was very organized!
  4. Very good! We used them last year and with three little ones...trying to get everyone to look and smile at once...well, you can imagine. I love that they hold the camera in their hand and can rapid fire shoot so they don't miss the smiles. They were so helpful and worked hard to get the kids to smile and pose them.. We are using them again this year for our family picture and individual pictures of the kids. I highly recommend them!

    50% off toys?

I live in Texas and tomorrow FP toys are 50% off! I hope this helps!
  6. Last year our Super Walmart had all of the items on pallets and each pallet had one employee assigned to stand guard. At 5am they cut off the shrink wrap to allow access to the items. Last year I was around the Cabbage Patch Newborn pallet with about eight others and I swear millions behind us....we also lived the experience of just tossing the dolls back to those behind us because no one would let us out!!!! Man I love Black Friday!!! :cheesy: :cheesy:
  7. I am in Dallas/Fort Worth and I picked up five of these today for $1 each. Pretty good deal for just $1 (thought I would give some to my friends who have large families).....every little bit helps! Heather
  8. Last year I hit Walmart and then went straight to Staples. I have found some of the best BF deals at Staples along with tons of free after rebate items. I plan to go there again this year!
  9. I have always gone alone. I have never been the only person in line and usually make several "friends" while waiting in line. During the wait the people in line usually develop a strategy of who wants what and who will go what direction. It is easier for me to go alone and just get what I need and leave without having to wait on someone else. Heather who can't wait for BF this year!
  10. Look at all of the bargains I picked up, take a nap, and then go for lunch somewhere.
  11. Same here in DFW Texas. This morning all of the Christmas items (clothes, decorations, holiday party stuff) have all been moved to one location but still just 50% off (I was there last night and the items were spread out in the different departments). No one seemed to know when it would go 75%.
  12. 65 (DFW, Texas).....I was told they distributed or counted the number of people in line and by 2:30am they were telling people they were no longer available.
  13. Staples! Very organized...manager came outside about 30 minutes prior to opening and handed out coupons to those in line for the items we wanted to buy. When 5am rolled around we were told if we had the coupon in hand we were getting the item. .....the doors opened and we were directed to the very back of the store (a stockroom blocked by a table), handed our coupons over, employees retrieved our items, and away we went with items in hand. Compared to my Walmart and Target experience I say Staples did a very good job!
  14. Hubby got the monitor we were looking for. He said there were tons of people in line and when he got the monitors the employees did not know which ones were in the ad. Luckily my brother went with him and found the monitors before they were all gone. Now to bed for a little bit then onto Walmart.
  15. I am able to access the website but as I am now reading the 24 hours specials are not available online?!?!? Hoping hubby is having luck at the store.
