thmain replied to scoutgentry's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
I tried these and they have all been used. -
I too was able to purchase two leapsters.....they were included in the extra 25% off sale (clearance merchandise) and I had a coupon I received in the mail so I paid $14.29 for each! Woohoo!!
-
Went today and found toys on clearance with extra 25% off plus I received a scratch off card at the register for an extra 20%. Woohoo!!!
-
Did this include artificial trees? I can't believe they are already putting Christmas stuff on clearance!

Went to Walmart (24 hour), knew I was in trouble when there were very few places left in the parking lot at 4:30 am. I was surprised that I actually was able to find and purchase the Blu-Ray for $128! Crowds were plentiful and there were people physically fighting over the TV's. I was also able to get the kid's pjs and had them price match Leapster games. Walked out at 7:20 (lines were terrible) and went to pick a few more items up at JC Penney and Walgreens. All in all a good day, I was back home early, which I always like!

I will go by myself and hubby will probably go to another store.

What things are you going to bring with you while waiting in line?

Water, snacks, cell phone, and money....depending on weather may bring a blanket. -
How long do you normally stay out on Black Friday?
thmain replied to ChristmasShopping's topic in 2008
Out about 3 am and then back before lunchtime. -
Hubby is off and I am self employed (I make sure not to schedule anyone on Black Friday!!)

Thank you so much!!! You saved me a ton of money on two suits and a cover up!

I was so amazed as I picked up the limit on rulers, protractors, and erasers. My total before the discount was $17.xx! I paid only 16 cents!!!!!! The protractors alone were listed as $1.99 each. Wow, what a deal, this is my kind of back to school shopping!
-
They were out of the highlighters.....huge line at the store prior to opening....I went for the pencils, purell, folders, and paper. When I left pencils and purell and paper were gone! Glad to be stocked up for school though!

Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2008
thmain replied to Gator Pam's topic in Offline Hot Deals
I have found this to be true. As I made my "Tour of Targets" for GB, I found a mirror damaged (back when GB was 50% off). The damage was slight but they gave me an additional 20% off. At the same store when GB was 75%, I purchased an area rug that had been used as a display and it was quite dusty/dirty and had two small pulls (I think that is why it was still left). They would not take any additional off. -

GB still 50% here in Fort Worth (3 stores)....waiting not so patiently for 75% and understanding the ad said 50% and runs through the end of the week. Not sure about everyone else but our GB selection is slim pickings. Several of the stores I have gone to have everything on one aisle. One store I went to still had a good portion of the section still up (several pieces of furniture). Tick tock, tick tock...... -
Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2008

Tons of great buys on Valentine's aisle 90% off, found some cute shirts, tissue paper, bags, etc. Still waiting for Global Bazaar to go 75% off.....the guy in charge of seasonal said he thought it could be at any time because his store had very little left (it seems like most of the stores in my area have very few items left). I did manage to get a mirror with slight damage to one corner (really minor) for 70%...needless to say I was THRILLED! -
Went to Walmart yesterday (ours has toys clearanced but none "marked" 75%) and found a Leapster bundle marked down to $30. It had an original price on it of $64.96. There were several Leapster games also marked down, lowest was $13 though.

Is Global 50% off everywhere now? I am racing to the store if it is. It seems like the stock is a lot less than last year but there are a few pieces I would like to pick up. Thanks! -
Best: Staples....by far...smooth process, prior to opening you knew if you were getting a doorbuster based on the tickets. Worst: CC and Best Buy whose lines were around the store at 8pm last night. Our Walmart Supercenter were not bringing out pallets for Black Friday until 4:30.....don't think everything was out by 5 am. Surprised to see Target (which is right next to Staples) selling coffee to everyone in line!?!?
