  1. I would go to the newer one if it is closer to everything else and the only issue is you don't "know" it. We have 2 Wal-Marts within 15 minutes of me and we always go to the less crowded older one then straight into town because it is the fastest route. Also, about 30 minutes away is a Wal-mart in a small town that you can usually find things at way after both of ours have sold out. For me though, time is important on this day!
  2. i have found my perfect outfit this year...tested and all. I HATE to be cold...i will wear thermal pants and shirt..cord pants, long sleeve tshirt, hoodie, wool socks, hat, and good tennis shoes. The pants baggy enough and the pockets are big enough for my cell phone and wallet in the 2 front pockets..hoodie has pocket in front for a hand warmer. I will also have the therma heat things on. my mom wears a fanny pack:o
  3. We are usually out for 12 hours plus. Including lunch though...shopping is what this day was made for right?
  4. oh, isn't that what this is? i for one am very supportive of your habit
  5. I stay the night with my mom (without Zoe, very rare that we are not together) don't sleep much usually stay in the clothes I will wear the next day. Up by four out the door no later than 4:30. Shop until we drop, eat lunch somewhere. I also stay in touch with girls from my work by phone all day...we try to help each other out.
  6. We stood outside Target last year in the freezing cold just and just as the doors were opening a van pulled into the parking lot and let 3 "ladies" out who pushed through the doors...couldn't tell you how many times they got ran over with carts.
  7. way too much time and it is getting worse (better?) cause the ads are starting to come
  8. :lolrun: sorry, that sounds fantastic I was just trying to imagine my husband with one of these...I am not sure he would know the first thing about scrubing a bathroom!!
  9. it seems like no one in my house has to pee until I get in there!!
  10. Last year we redid daughters bedroom, we stashed dresser, castle shaped bed, 2 toyboxes, bedding and lots of other misc. in my husbands very small studio...he couldn't paint all week. We locked her out and let her sleep in our room in her tent Christmas Eve..worked like crazy to get it done and get a little bit of sleep before morning. It was kind of a rush and probably my favorite Christmas since I was a child!!
  11. I am used to hiding purchases..shhhhh. Daughter doesn't think to snoop yet but hubby thinks I go overboard. I love to find clearance stuff all year long for the angel tree and shoeboxes all year long. I have a drawer full of school stuff in one of my craft drawers!
  12. I try to let my child know WHY Santa exists so hopefully years and years and more years from now when she questions and then doesn't so much buy the reindeer story she still will feel the "magic" that he brings.
  13. We open presents first...although my little one is young and we haven't really got a tradition yet..as of now she is very demading for breakfast in the morning..I am not sure she could wait an hour for her oatmeal. It is almost as bad as my husband before coffee
  14. Kids? My mom saw this stuff on tv a couple of weeks ago and thinks it is the coolest stuff. I will have to get grandma her very own to keep the peace!!
  15. I am with you she kind of freaks me out too. I don't know...I have heard that they will be popular. I am giving in though and getting my little one the Amazing Amanda. She has asked for it two years in a row now and she doesn't ask for much so I figure I should. She has 3 things on her wishlist:Amanda, Hungary hippos, and a hide and seek care bear. I also plan to get her the FP camera but that will probably be about it besides the stocking. (that is me trying to justify the $100 for a doll)
  16. 5 years in a row...off and on before then..it didn't become a tradition until i became an adult and forced my mom to go!!
  17. I do agree with limits, but by person not houshold and not for each item not one doorbuster each:yuck:

  19. I have a glo worm, cabbage patch, easy bake oven(guess that never went away but my little girl just discovered it, she wanted one in the store the other day and I told her we had one had home) so today it is 3 hour cookies!!
  20. i usually shop in a group, with all of us going to different places getting everything everyone needs at our particular store...so I shop for other people but they are out there too. usually don't have time after that to do any shopping for others
