wow 18 and he is asking this question? What a good kid! I'd say not to spend a whole lot - maybe a Christmas themed salt & pepper shaker, holiday soap set, Christmas hand towels or one of the family themed baskets someone mentioned. I'd feel really weird if an 18 year old showed up at my house with a really expensive gift. I'm sure the fact that he thought enough to bring something for the hostess is enough. I'm sure my 17 year wouldn't have thought of that!

both of my gifts were sent out and both of my gifts have been received! My SS gifts are sitting right where my tree will be next week! Can't wait to open them Christmas morning! Love my ornament too! Part of it is sitting in my fridge! Thanks to both who sent me something!

well looking at the rebate form, you just have to send in the UPCs from the tape .. you don't have to send in a receipt ..

ITunes gift card if she has an Ipod. that way she doesn't have to get the entire CD - she can just pick and choose her songs. ITA about Now 29 But it really depends on what kind of music she likes. My DD14 isn't into country - but does like a wide variety - Beatles, Jonas Brothers, some scream bands, it boggles my mind! if you go to Best Buy - watch them closely. My cashier scanned the coupon and it worked - but it only scanned at .01 cents. I pointed that out to her and she had to manually enter it as a manufact coupon.

I like that idea! That way you can shop and actually experience the JOY of giving .. not much joy in purchasing a gift card. But I'm like you - I enjoy picking out gifts for people. I mean, why didn't she just say she didn't want to participate?

My CVS will take anyone's transfer coupons. I walk into RiteAid and pick them up and take them over to CVS. I'd call your CVS to see if they take competitor coupons.

I have a cousin like this. She is single and doesn't cook. Last Christmas, we had prime rib. She filled 1/2 her plate with enough for 5 people. I made her put some back. I politely told her that she was welcome to take home one plate, but not everything. And the comment that you should have made about their not being much to chose from: Yeah - I'm a great cook, aren't I? Everyone loves my food!

just remember Target runs a 2 day sale - not just on BF and they do not do doorbusters. If it is not a "special purchase" item you can get a raincheck (have always done in the past) beware of the luggage - I bought this set last year and the suitcase broke after 2 uses and since it was a "special purchase" the warranty was not honored. I did get a refund with customer service though - so if you buy a "special purchase" item with a warranty - save your receipt!

not always. If it is a "special purchase" item they won't because it is something they will only stock for that 2 day time frame. But on everything else, they have always given me rainchecks - movies, games, etc.

have you taken them to a shoe store to see about getting them resoled? Might work, might not, but they could tell you when you take them in if they could do it. Would be way cheaper than buying a new pair - especially if there's nothing wrong with the upper part.

oh my goodness - you will have so much fun the weeks following Christmas! buy the basics now for this year and then go wild when everything goes 50-75-90 % off. you will have a blast! Don't forget to buy plastic storage tubs to put everything in when the holidays are over!

I think it was a few years back someone was remembering a song they heard as a kid during the holidays called Dominick the donkey. I had never heard this before. Well last year a few weeks before Christmas, I was up in the Buffalo, New York area. I have never heard that song so much in a 2 day time span! Right now - even though I am streaming a radio station at my workspace - that song is suck in my head!!! lol
