  1. I'm going at 3:00 or so. Not too early, as I'm not looking for the laptop. Just DVD and SD memory deals. I think the time you get there is directly related to how much you're saving. :)
  2. What are the rebates on the HP Printer? I know it's normally $259.99, and there are $160 in rebates. But how much is instant, and how much is mail in? I can't read it.
  3. Someone should make a list of identical BF items that Wal-Mart carries. For all stores, not just Best Buy.
  4. Just a reminder, use this as a guide to know what day your favorite show is on, but use your local TV listings to know exactly what time it's showing. It's difficult to make an accurate schedule for 4 time zones. Here's some good ones: http://tv.yahoo.com http://www.tvguide.com http://www.excite.com (my favorite)

    Pay Day?

Not paid till 11/30. Light BF for me.
  6. Believe me, get the Nikon. I just steered my mom towards the 4MP Nikon over the 5MP Kodak at Best Buy. IMO, 4MP is just fine for printing. I have pictures that I printed off my old 1.3MP, and a 4"x6" looked fine. I have a 2MP Nikon Coolpix now, and it serves my needs just fine. No I don't print 8"x10"s either. I'd love the 4MP Nikon (and am contemplating adding it to my Christmas list). What you gain by getting Nikon over Kodak is greater than the extra MP you get with Kodak. You also have to consider that if you're emailing, your recipients may not want them larger than 1MB each, which is about 2MP. (My brother in-law told my wife that I need to learn how to take pictures, because they're always too big for his screen.) :)
  7. I have compiled a 2005 Holiday TV schedule that I've posted on my forums. I thought I would share it with you all. I'm updating it all the time, to keep it current. While you're there, check out my station too. http://www.christmasbroadband.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=130

    1 per household?

If you have enough to let each person spend up to $5000, why do you care about sales? What's an extra $100 here or there, to get to sleep in and avoid the crowds? I'm going because I don't have much $$$, and need to spread it as far as it will go.
  9. I made my wife get Batman wrapping paper we saw at Wal-Mart, to wrap my gifts in. And I'm 31!
  10. I'm reading "A Christmas Story" right now. I have "In God We Trust, All Others Pay Cash", but it doesn't contain all the stories that make up the movie. They put them all together in this book, that reads like a collection of short stories. Most weren't Christmas related, outside of the movie (i.e., the leg lamp story). I love Jean Shepard, despite only knowing him from the movie the the books mentioned above. I love his use of vocabulary, and his ability to create vivid imagery. And I relate to his passion for Christmas. Here's an example, "Christmas was on its way. Each day was more exciting than the last, because Christmas was one day closer. Lovely, beautiful, glorious Christmas, around which the entire year revolved."
  11. Only colored. Christmas is meant to be colorful. White is more elegant, and I would expect Martha Stewart's tree to have white lights, but it doesn't say "Christmas" to me.
  12. I don't use bots, but I do place my bid in the last final seconds. As a 9-year eBay veteran, you learn over time that placing a bid earlier only allows your competing bidder to log in and outbid you. Why would I want to do that? My bid is legit. It's a higher bid than the other bidders. If you feel slighted by snipers, there's an easy fix. Make sure your bid is higher than theirs. No matter how late they bid, yours will win. I never understand why people hate sniping. An auction goes to the highest bidder. Why was your bid not as high as you were willing to go?
  13. Last year, I had the midi version of TSO's "Christmas Eve/Sarajevo" (guitar-heavy "Carol of the Bells"). This year, my new cell phone plays MP3s. I purchased the MP3 ringtone last month, and think I'll set it to play starting this week.
  14. It's A Wonderful Life. Favorite all-time movie. In fact, one of my favorite things ever. It's it time to watch it yet? I'm going through withdrawl.

    snow on christmas

I've lived in Arizona for the past 12 years, so yes, I miss snow. We travel to visit my wife's family in Pittsburgh over Christmas when we can. It's still in the mid-80's here this week. People here love it, but I grew up with colder Christmases, so warm weather just doesn't create the same feel for me.
  16. I liked it. It's cute, and has some nice Christmas imagery. I plan on buying it. I don't remember any scenes not suitable for children.
  17. My brother and I used to wake up at the crack of dawn on Christmas morning. We weren't allowed to open anything but our stockings till Mom and Dad were up, which was usually 30 min to an hour later. Now that's it's just my wife and I, we open gifts whenever we wake. We need kids soon!

    christmas music

If you guys are interested in a free online Christmas station, check out Christmas Broadband. We're the #1 Christmas station on Live365. Just put a dot com after the station's name (I'm still too new to list a URL).
  19. I'm known as the biggest Christmas nut by everyone who knows me. (I run the #1 Christmas music station online, Christmas Broadband). But I'm trying to hold off watching Christmas movies as long as possible. Almost caved in tonight, but will probably begin next weekend. I've been buying them though. Bought the Peanuts Holiday 3-pack, Scrooged, and Christmas Vacation SE (I had the fullscreen version, needed widescreen). Christmas movies are one of my favorite things in the world!
