  2. The day to day pricing is dictated by the closest local competitors. In a major city you go to the closest Target, Meijer, KMart, Kroger, etc. So each store may have a different price based on that or quantity in stock. It's called store of the community representing the best value in that community for the customer. Most everything if not all of the black friday items are sold at a loss (below cost) ,where allowed ,to bring the customers in because if you treat them right they will come back to you. We ad match and do the research to offer the lower price before you have to ask in some instances. Who else does that for their customers?
  3. There is absolutely nothing that says our employees can not say Merry Christmas. The theme for this season is "Home for the holiday" which encompasses everything from Thanksgiving through New Years. We have many different customers and should respect all their varied beliefs and traditions. Respectfully if I don't know you personally and know your background it could be insulting to wish you a happy, merry, etc holiday that you do not believe in.
  4. We can't give rainchecks on doorbusters because many of them are items that we do not carry everyday so we will not get more of them in later.
  5. Wal-mart has always been fair to me and my family. There is more chance for advancement there and more job security than anywhere I know. Where else can you start as a cart pusher and work up to store manager. Our current company president was a former sales floor associate. Every business has a choice of what to sell their products for. Sam started with one store and had the right idea everyone else just chose to keep charging you more. As for happy holidays it covers them all (Thanksgiving, Kwanza, New Year, Christmas, Chanukah) and isn't offensive. We have to respect everyone and their beliefs. Pay isn't the only thing in a job you have to look at the total package. Some retailers don't even offer insurance, profit sharing/stock and 401k to hourly associates.   6. I work for them. Associates can be terminated for understocking. They can not hold items or get them early. They can only get them for that price if there are quantities left and they are off the clock.
