  1. Good for Best Buy! Good Customer Service is always appreciated. But I remember the "restocking fee" was initiated by Circuit City BEFORE Best Buy started doing it. It was the main reason I stopped shopping at Circuit City for so long. And maybe BB has recently stopped charging the fee since July 2006. I spent $1600 on a Toshiba laptop and when I got home, it had three dead pixels. I took it back to the store and was very nice about the entire thing and the service rep was nice too, but she did say that if the notebook was NOT defective, I would have to pay the 15% restocking fee. It wasn't because I was a jerk or anything, it was just their policy. It was ruled defective and they gave me another laptop and it was defective also, so they did not charge me the restocking fee(I bought a Dell instead). I think kindness goes a very long way in getting good service, but I also think it depends on the service person also. Kudos to great service at Best Buy. May it spread like good cheer in 2007!
  2. What ad? There is NO mention of Vonage in the posted ad or the link? I'm going at midnight and am not expecting to sign up for anything. And Welcome to GottaDeal!!
  3. Update! I got an email yesterday from Officemax stating that my two 2GB SD cards had shipped. They arrived today! Finally! I guess I can't complain anymore. It took almost a month but at least the order wasn't canceled.
  4. I do like an earlier member said and took my printed out order from Officemax.com to my local store. They had the 2GB sd cards in stock. I explained to the assistant manager what happened and he said "Its no your fault." And promptly sold me the cards at the $24.98 price. His name is Corey at the Easton Officemax in Columbus, Ohio! Had no ptoblem at all but you have to tell them it was a Black Friday order because they can't find the cards online to confirm the past price.
  5. I ordered very early on Thanksgiving also. My order was for 2 Sandisk 2GB sd cards and a 4in1 printer. I received the confirmation email. On the website it said that nothing was shipped so I called on that Tuesday and they looked up the order and said that I would have it Wednesday. I went to my in-laws (where I had it delivered) and there was only a the printer! Once I got home, I was about to call Officemax and as I'm checking my email, up pops an email from Officemax about my order. It states that there was a change. Now, suddenly, hours AFTER the package has been delivered, they discover that the 2GB cards are on backorder. I called again and they said they have 7 to 10 business days AFTER THE EMAIL NOTIFICATION to ship the product or simply cancel the order. The customer service person was helpful and suggested I call back on the 12th to find out what they can do for me if they can't fulfill my order. Simple, just give me another brand 2GB card!
  6. Out of Stock online. And not available at my three closest stores!
  7. I've been up since 5am yesterday (trying to get the paper). I was gonna buy stuff on Walmart.com and then saw this post! I went over at 3:30, saw the store PACKED with Black-Shrink Wrapped pallets of stuff. I called my wife and told her to get ready. I went and picked her up and dropped the kids off. When I got back to Walmart at 4:30, they were passing out a map that listed most the stuff from the ad. Then you had to just wait until 5am to see what was underneath the shrink-wrapped pallets. It wasn't too bad. Everyone was friendly (Columbus, Ohio) and if you saw something in someone's cart, they would tell you where in the store they got it. Then you had to make a mad dash across the store for it. I see why they call it Blitz! And they put things in odd places for the fun of it. We needed the Easy-Bake oven (Microwave-style) for my son. It was not in Toys. The Bratz dolls, Barbie Dolls, Monopoly game, and the Easy Bake were all located in the Frozen Food area! The Toy dept. had vacuums and some of the RC cars. For the most part, it was a good time. Especially after passing the 200+ people waiting in line at Best Buy!
  8. Which Meijer? Gahanna? Cleveland Ave.? I'm usually clearance shopping at the Cleveland location. Didn't check out the exercise equipment!
  9. Thanks! Great info. Wife and I are only about 8 minutes from there (Rte 161/I-71) and were wondering when they were opening! And the membership costs.
  10. Thanks! I just bought two of the 2GB SD cards at $24.99 and the 6-in-1 Brother MFC-3360C for $49.00!! And the free shipping was excellent!
  11. I agree! If we miss a "great" sale from Macy's, we just keep the ad and wait a couple weeks or so...the same item will be a couple bucks more or a couple bucks cheaper! We just have to kee p ignoring those 15% off with Macy's card ads! I f they would mail LESS stuff, they could simply lower their prices on stuff I want! LOL
  12. Yes, I have! It usually refers to returns where you did not have a receipt and therefore you have to give them some form of identification. Most stores use a seperate company that keeps a database of returns by your drivers license. And because I was making several returns without a receipt to Lowe's etc, I was rejected last year. They will give you a number to call. I spoke to the service rep and she would not give me the number of returns that each store limits, but did show where I had made 3 returns to Lowe's and that it was a mistake to turn me down for a refund. So I make it a point to KEEP MY RECEIPTS so that I will have no more than 3 returns without a receipt. When you return an item with a receipt, they usually don't ask for identification and they can't track you!
  13. They just did mystery cards this week (expired today) with discounts from $10 to $1000 or so. They gave out gift cards last year in Columbus, Ohio too. In the past they have had little electronics deals like 7" portable dvd players for $99.00 (when they were much higher) and they had the folding/rolling garment bags for around $19.99. In fact, this was two years ago because my wife and I missed them last year. We had to make the rounds to Kohl's, Home Depot, Meijer's, Target, and Lowe's last year. Columbus has all the shopping places near each other. Of course, it is the location of the very first shopping center in the U.S. At least that is what they told me when I moved here!
  14. I bought a remote control AirHogs plane this summer on clearance from Target. A breez does make it harder to fly but it is so much fun that I was planning on going to the website to see the regular price. I only paid $17.00 so it wasn't a bad deal. The XPVs are a little overpriced in my opinion. And the FlyPen is on clarance at target right now. They come with a charger and they are scanning (ALWAYS SCAN) at around $62.00.
  15. Great deal gatorPam! I saw that stuff but I was on my lunch break and already had a cart full of stuff! My Target near work had the Home Avista Sling Lounges for $9.98 each! My wife didn't really want any so I bought 2 for myself (I know she will want one when she sees me reclining in mine next Spring) and I bought two for a co-worker. Some were marked $19.98 but still scanned at the $9.98 price. They had the Beige ones and also the heavier metal Blue?White ones.
  16. Yes you did. And we seriously thought of doing that but felt that they would remember us and not take the return! As I'm thinking about it now, I regret that we didn't do that. But thanks to this website and this message board, I rarely, IF EVER, buy anything from Target and pay full retail!
  17. We tried that with pajamas for my son! We bought them on a Saturday and when we came to the store that Sunday, they were clearanced for almost $10 less! We got the receipt and grabbed a set from the display, as the customer service rep was going through the adjustments, she spotted the clearance tag and stopped the transaction. She said that the adjustments "..DO NOT APPLY TO MERCHANDISE THAT GOES ON CLEARANCE!" and promptly asked for the next person in line! I spoke to a manager and he backed up her claim. My wife was so upset she called the regional manager (Columbus, Ohio) and he said the same thing. Even though we were replacing the pajamas because the previous pajamas had been destroyed in our house fire that Friday, no pity was received from the manager. My wife threatened to stop shopping at Target, but the guy just said he could not do anything about it.
  18. I hate to say it, but yes, i will still buy the product. Its sad I know, but its the truth. If you follow any product you own back to the manufacturing process, I am sure you will find the same issues. At least made outside of the US anyway. I still buy my Nike shoes, my leather jackets, my toys from Communist China, and eat all the dead animals possible. The alternative is to be a vegetarian (skip the spinach) and wear fig leaves as you walk to work. Or do as you are doing and boycott certain companies which have no concern for the welfare of their workers, which I suspect is 90% of the companies in the world. Including the one I work for, the Federal Government.
  19. Heath, Ohio location showed 2 available. After my order processed and everything, I posted the thanks and was satisfied. The next morning my cell phone keeps ringings with a long distance number I didn't recognize. After the second call, I finally answered. It was someone from the actual store saying that their store computer doesn't update(WHAT!?) and that they actually didn't have the computer desks after all. The charge to my card has not been removed and I'm sure that desk went out to an employees car at that great price. I guess I will call and ask them when can I get my money credited back. Thanks anyway!!!
  20. Thanks! I ordered one for my 5 year old also!!
  21. Thanks! I tried to get one during the giveways with no luck. For $15, I 'll take a chance.
  22. Thanks! I still have my old bag but my new Dell E1405 DuoCore will be arriving Friday! A new lappy and a new bag?! Perfect!
  23. I agree! I have four nice pillows and a couple of vases that I bought for around $15.00. Target, have I told you that I loved you? I do. Still? Always!
  24. Went to Target yesterday. Whitehall, Ohio (Broad Street). They had most of the furniture at 50% off. I bought 12lb containers of ice-salt (in the shaker containers) for $2.48 each. Stocked up for the rest of the season and next winter. I also bought 8-packs of the GE Reveal lightbulbs for $3.15 a pack. I will be going back today to get some more of those!
