  1. Sorry about your luck! My Goodwill gets the FURNITURE from Target! I bought a Simply Shabby Chic chest for my daughter for $15.00 (on sale for $190 at Target)! I also bought a Cinema Collection tv stand ($150@Target) and Renovations bookcase ($70.00), both for $19.99 each! I only bought the stuff from goodwill because of the good quality of furniture/accent pieces my wife and I have purchased from Target in the past. BTW, my Target went 75% on 12-30-05 and an employee said they will probably go to 90% on Monday or Tuesday, if there is anything left after Sunday. They did have a lot of stuff, but it was spread throughout the store.
  2. I'm going to Target right now! They don't close to 10pm! They might have something left! I hope.
  3. HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM COLUMBUS, OHIO!!
  4. Go back and get the discount. That is role-playing for sure. Smile a little more and demand the price advertised. They probably fixed/changed the display but they should remember you. See the store manager and, if necessary, ask for the regional manager.
  5. I have to defend CC. In the past I hated them because they started the whole "15% restocking fee" mess. But as I deal with the zoo-like atmosphere at BestBuy, not to mention their lackluster prices, I have been drawn to CC more and more. In the last six months I have purchased 2 miniDV cameras, an IPAQ, Canon digital camera, 30" HDTV, and a vcr! They have been great. When I bought the tv they gave me a $50.00 giftcard. A week later, BestBuy had the same tv with a $100 giftcard (but higher price). I called CC and they said we'll look up your original purchase in the system and you can come by and get the additional $50 giftcard. No complaints here!
  6. If you purchase the mp3 player with the intention of returning it minus the gift card, that is a wee bit dishonest. I think that is why they deduct the price from the refund. It is stated on some receipts that if a special item/offer was used, it will be deducted. Which is only fair unless the merchandise is defective. And a word of advice: Don't be obvious about your intentions. Some Best Buy manager could be lurking :-)
  7. Cash is my credit card! MY wife uses her debit card for stuff. I just love the feeling of money in my wallet. Plus, I don't spend as much. Have you seen the Zales $50.00 thread?! I have already used my wife's debit card once. I'd be all over that site for Christmas. No credit card is a good thing for me.
  8. The "No Receipt Blacklist" is getting larger everyday. Most stores are using some company to keep track for them. I had a problem at Lowes with a return. The register printed a receipt with a phone number. I called the number and had them look me up by my DL. She stated that I had only made 3 non-receipt returns to Lowes in the last year and that was a low number. She told me to return the items anyway. It was weird because the rejection came without the manager even getting my info. I think they were tracking the product or something! Also, TARGET has changed their non-receipt return policy! If you return an item w/o a receipt, (your first return or not), you can only exchange it for the exact same item or for ONE item in the exact same department. I tried to return a bed rail without a receipt. I was told that I could only get something in baby/toddler dept. I said "Fine, I can get some shirts and socks, etc..". The clerk said "I'm sorry, but you can only use the credit for ONE item in that dept." It wasn't her fault. Its "renters" and thieves that forced them to do it. But guess what? I took that bed rail back home til I found that receipt. Then I returned it. My mother always told me to KEEP ALL RECEIPTS. She was right.
