  1. I agree I wouldn't buy anything over $100 for a 9 year old but for a preteen 12 and older I would go with what they asked for. My foster daughter has a ipod mini refurbished and she payed a little over $100 for it.. You can not tell it was refurbished and the deal was sweet! Tina
  2. Last year I saw a couple who had sleeping blankets and a bed that folds up. I liked that idea! So I may steal it for this year:) Tina
  3. Your best bet is to call the store you want to go to and ask them what time everyone shows up for BF. Different stores vary in times. In my area they line up at about 4 to 5 pm at BB, at CC they line up at about 9-10 pm, at WM about 12am. If you sound totally cluless and very nice on the phone Customer Service will bend over backwardsfor you:) Tina
  4. My Hubby gets quarterly profit sharing bonuses so every 3 months depending on wheter the company does well or not we may get a bonus.. The rumor is that this bonus ( the November one) is going to be bigger then the last one and that was over $1400 take home. Last year the bonus was only $350 in November so I never really counted that money as christmas money..This year I may:) Tina

    Charity and BF

I do stockings for my sons friends that parent's are either out of work or just don't make enough to have a good christmas. This way I get to SEE them open their presents:) Last years stockings had boost cell phones, mp3 players or digital cameras along with a game, batteries, and colonge and candy. This year it will be reversed..the mp3 player kids get the digital camera etc... A game, batteries, one is getting a newer tmobile phone because I am sick of seeing his old school one. I am hoping that a decent digital camera goes on sale BF for about $100 because that would be a great stocking stuffer. My stockings are normally packed with about $300 worth of items. I love STOCKINGS! Tina
  6. Last year my husband blew it big time! I ordered 2 Ipod Video's for my sons which they were NOT expecting at all and when they came I was SOOOOOO excited! I couldn't wait for Alan (my DH) to come home so I could show SOMEONE...ANYONE what I bought So he comes home from work I usher him into our bedroom quitely and show him the ipods... He was impressed! He went to the bathroom then came out and as he was coming back into the bedroom he says loudly " Soooo.....I pod Video's HUH" with a smile on his face.. He hears a voice from the room nextdoor "I am in my bedroom and can hear you" I was SO MAD! Normally it is me who can't hold it in but I can at least wait a few days/weeks not minutes! Tina
  7. No but normally there is at least ONE or TWO things that get your interest... But NOTHING did. Tina
  8. I was disappointed! Normally you can get an idea of what the other stores are going to offer by looking at the first 2 ads that come out. If this is foretelling of the items for sale on BF I think I will sleep in! Tina
  9. I called mine and they said that they will PM :) Tina
  10. Bet they are the same people who take cuts when there is a lane closing up ahead in traffic:yuck: I hate those people too! Tina
  11. You need to wait till the deals come out first. I was at CC last year and my hubby was at Walmart. I hate my nearest BB for BF so unless they have some SPECTACULAR deals I won't be there. I will try it next year maybe when BB goes into the mall here in my city. Hopefully it won't be as crazy there. Tina
  12. Limits are good except at BB where they limit you to only ONE doorbuster item per person. At CC they allowed you to have one of each doorbuster not one door buster item. Who wants to stand in line for only one door buster? Tina
  13. My middle son was the first one to get a laptop at our WM and my foster daughter was second:) Alex said it was the most fun he ever had...Now my Husband who has RA can not run and push people so we will have to see about him going to a more structured place this year like CC or BB because this year he does it without Alex (Alex has since moved away) to run for him. They said that several people tried to take cuts in the front of the line. One said they were feeling faint and yet another said that their baby was freezing! Why someone was in line with an infant is beyond me! Wonder if it was a fake baby after reading all these posts:gdparanoid: Needless to say no one got cuts. Tina
  14. I am going to recruit my sons friends to help keep my place in line again. They did this last year and whinned about it till they got into the store and bought a ton of stuff their Moms asked them to get :) Teenage boys must love getting deals too. Tina
  15. WOW! Thanks!!!! I used this feature last year and it made shopping SO much easier! Thanks again! Tina
  16. I was wondering if there was some way you could make a forum that was divided into states to make it easier for us gottadeal people to meet and possibly stand in line together or be able to power shop on BF? If not this year maybe next huh? Tina
  17. Hummm that would be nice.. I am in the market for a new TV this year and I want it to be bigger then 32" and I want it to be under $800 So LCD, Plasma, or rear projection is all good as long as it is HDTV. The cheaper the better! Tina
  18. Oh...How do you feel about people who sell their place in line? I had 4 guys behind me sell their places for $100 a piece. They made about $20 tax free an hour standing in line. Tina
  19. my friend was just telling me that I am trying to save the world again LOL I have this thing about being fair and she said if your the first in line who cares about everyone else. I on the other hand think it was totally unfair to the people behind me.. What if I happened to have been just 2 people farther away in line and thought all along that I was getting that laptop ticket and had been standing in line since 10pm only to have some line cutter take that ticket away from me and they stood in line 1 hour before the door opened because that is when the people came outside to hand out tickets.. Should I feel the same way as my friend then? Because making sure the first 20 people in line aren't line cutters is gonna be hard to do. Tina
  20. Walmart was a stand in line and rush the door afterwards my girlfriend told me since she, my hubby, and one child stood in that line. I was at CC and they handed out tickets to the people in line. Makes me wonder if I want to stand at WM this year or try my hand at the crazies in the BB line. Nahhhhhh cause where I live they put up tents at BB the night before thanksgiving when the store closes so they are in line for 2 nights.... No thanks! Tina
  21. I DID make friends with everyone in the line. That is why this threw me for a loop! I saw everyone in line and even talked to these people in line at their car. The new people were not in the car. Tina
  22. Nope... I had brought my kids to be my relief..I live In Michigan. NO WAY could I sit outside ALL night without warming up. Like I said in the post I had NEVER seen anyone in this car until someone came out to pass out tickets. They were never in the line. I would ask if they had a partner with them before making numbers. I also had 2 chairs to hold me and my friends place. Do you have 4 chairs out there? Tina PS My kids ( 16 and 18) did come in the store and shop with me but I felt it would be cheatng if the got a ticketed item so they ran to get the non ticketed items on my list while I got the ticketed items.
  23. Hi I am Tina and I am in the Downriver area ( Southern Burbs of Detroit ) Michigan. I USED to shop the smaller places for BF like radio shack and ACE but that was before last year. Last year this site got me so pumped up to do a major store that I had split my camp into two and went to WM and CC. We got laptops from both places. WOO HOO! I would love to find other people in my area to split shopping lists with:) Tina
