Turkey breast, ham (for my dad who is allergic to turkey) stuffing, sweet potatoes, maple bacon brussel sprouts, jellied cranberry sauce, crescent rolls and apple pie. There will only be 4 of us so that should be more than enough.

We are adopting a family for Christmas this year so I’m expecting to shop for another 4 people (I’ll know the head count for sure when I get the details this week). I’ve never done this before so hopefully it goes well (ie it doesn’t stress the heck out of me) and becomes an annual tradition (if not then I’ll find a different way to spread the love next year). Looking forward to it, though the supply chain issues have me nervous now. Fingers crossed I can do a good job playing Santa!

I’m just glad they stuck with the early Sunday morning start time for the online deals like they did in 2020 instead of 12:01am CT Monday like all the years before that. I live in the east coast and it was always a killer to go to work for the rest of the day after being up until 2am my time.

Sadly the sheets I want are not included in the preview sale, but the shoes I want are. They didn’t lower the free shipping minimum so I’m going to go order the shoes from the Kohl’s parking lot so the app will give me the free shipping option.

Holy cow Batman, my Walmart order from last night is being delivered by 3:30 today! I just used their regular free shipping for orders over $35 and didn’t pay for expedited shipping or anything. I wasn’t expecting the items for at least a week! They must have had it supplied from a local store. Super impressed with the crazy fast service.

I brought home a couple small cardboard boxes that I stole from the recycling bin at work so I have something to ship my gift in once I buy it. That counts for progress right?

Got the $29 lego classic and lego duplo sets I wanted!!! Ran into zero glitches/issues and finished checking out by 7:04. Now so long as they actually ship I’m one very happy camper [emoji2]

So I have never attempted to shop Walmart online for their major sales, but I really want to get the lego and duplo deal. For someone who has shopped BF for over 20 years I feel like a complete rookie right now. I know to expect slow speeds and glitches but that’s about it. Any recommendations or tips on how to snag the bargain online? Should I open the page for the item I’m interested in and just keep refreshing until the sale price appears? Can I load it into my online shopping cart ahead of time?

A And sadly I don’t know anyone who does have it otherwise I would have then order what I want today at 3pm and pay them back for it!

Photo 1: They don’t have any toilet paper. If they don’t have the movies I want too then I’m gonna riot. Photo 2: mom you have to come pick me up, I’m freaking out! There are people here, like actual people! I forgot how to be around others! Photo 3: I love my family but this tent was the only way I could guarantee I could maintain social distancing. Already won a shirt, thanks Brad! -
Holy cow that has to be some of the fastest shopping I’ve ever seen! I’m only just reading my person’s information to start brainstorming [emoji15]

I miss Bonton and Kmart. Bonton always had a $10 off a $10 purchase (excluding door busters) coupon in the newspaper and I got great stocking stuffers essentially for free with it every year. We always did kmart Thanksgiving morning because without fail someone would forget an item needed for the big meal and we would get to run out and hit their sale and “save” Thanksgiving dinner too. Sometimes I feel like my grandpa would intentionally forget an ingredient just to give me an excuse to go to the store because he knew I loved going for the good deals too.

Congrats to the winners. I loved reading everyone’s traditions and stellar deals from years past.

There is no such thing as having too much information when it comes to this sort of exchange. I find it really helpful when I get lots of interests and ideas. I feel bad for mine as I have pretty limited interests these days due to anticipated major downsizing in the future and health restrictions. No matter what though I’m sure I’ll have a great time participating.

I asked my husband what he got growing up. He usually always got candy, scratch offs, socks and toiletries in his stocking along with something related to one of his interests (hot wheels, t-balls, trading cards etc.). Once he started playing golf with his dad in high school he would also get golf balls and tees.

Info sent for secret Santa! Looking forward to participating again!

Top 3-5 Ads you're most looking forward to this year

Target, Kohl’s and then PetSmart (though normally it would be Home Depot in third place, but our home tool collection is fairly well rounded now). -
I’ve never been after any major big ticket BF door busters. I’ve still gotten some great deals but none for anything particularly exciting. My favorite memory was the fist time I convinced my dad to go out BF shopping with me at the last minute. He had no idea what to expect, no idea what he was shopping for and no idea of the game plan. He just tagged along because he couldn’t sleep and “didn’t have anything better to do”. We left at 4:30am and executed my plan of attack. We were a dynamic duo and had a blast sleep deprived and all. He was so proud of all the deals he managed to grab under my direction on my mom’s behalf and at great prices. That was the start of our BF tradition and a memory I will never forget. Though things have changed over the last 2 decades that have required us to adapt, BF will always be father daughter time.

Th only item I want for all of BF is in the first event so it looks like I’m going to have to find a friend who is a member. I don’t want to miss out by waiting the extra 4 hours and the inevitable website slowdown that happens at 7pm.
-
When they say online, does that allow you to buy online and pick up in store at the sale price? Or is that for shipped items only?
-
I wonder if this 1) blindsided Target and Walmart and they are scrambling to pull something together, or 2) Target and Walmart anticipated things like this happening due to last years spread out shopping season and have a prepared response that will be announced shortly. I feel like last year and this year have been incredibly difficult to anticipate in comparison to prior holiday shopping seasons and that their ad and sales teams are going to be forced to struggle to adapt all season long due to the ever changing circumstances.

What items are you hoping for BF deals on this year?
budgetsRsexy replied to magickallight's topic in 2021
Nice thread count sheets for the house and lego for me. If one of the board games I’m interested in goes a good sale then I’ll grab that too. -
I wasn’t super impressed. The toy deal was ok if you had items that qualify and were able to stack other discounts. Nothing made me think “wow” and I didn’t spend any money with them today. Hopefully they will put out something better in November.
