  1. I’m waiting on Home Depot, Lowe’s and the craft/hobby stores. These usually show up much closer to Black Friday so I don’t expect them until later but a girl can always dream.
  2. I figured I would cross post this on here since the weighted blanket was a big topic: There is also a 12 pound weighted blanket in the Kohl’s ad on page 31 lower right hand corner. It’s listed at $59.99 but I think their 15% off coupon would work on it (feel free to double check the fine print on the coupon exclusions though, I could have missed it) and then you would also get $15 Kohl’s cash for spending $50. I didn’t catch it the first time I looked through the Kohl’s ad but the Kohl’s cash ends up making it a better deal than Targets.

  4. There is also a weighted blanket for $50 in the Target BF ad if anyone is still looking.
  5. The $24 echo dot and $50 weighted blanket caught my attention. I’m hoping that the 50% off board and card games might have more selection than just what is shown but I doubt it.
  6. Looks like I’m going to have to go to Kohl’s this weekend or next to try on some clothes and see what stuff looks like in person [emoji106]
  7. Congratulations to the winners, and better luck next time to the rest of us. Thanks for some interesting ideas too!
  8. Really enjoyed this thread being active during the slower months. I’m looking forward to whatever you are planning for this thread in the future Brad.
  9. Sent my info late last night, just made the time cut off I believe. Thanks Bopeep!
  10. I like mine as well as it helps deal with my dogs shedding in between weekend vacuuming. The only downside is that it can be loud when running on our tile surfaces (not perfectly flat white the grout lines) so that rules out running it during the night or when we are watching tv.
  11. Fast drying microfiber towels are great for the backpacker/camper or gym enthusiast in your life. They take up less space and are much lighter weight than a traditional towel. Also a good option for the hot yoga lover. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B071K1BZKH/ref=sspa_mw_detail_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&th=1
  12. A tackle box works great for an avid fisherman but they also can be the perfect for some crafters to. My one friend loves beadwork and another does cross-stitch and both have found that a good tackle box is better than some more traditional storage solutions. https://www.amazon.com/Plano-7771-Guide-Tackle-System/dp/B000E39T3C/ref=mp_s_a_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1540757131&sr=8-6&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=tackle%2Bbox&dpPl=1&dpID=51Fw7qA1YAL&ref=plSrch&th=1&psc=1
  13. A thermos is great for a tea or coffee drinker, people who like to go on picnics, or people who have kids in cold weather sporting events. Can’t go wrong with a classic. https://www.amazon.com/Stanley-Classic-Vacuum-Bottle-Hammertone/dp/B000FZX93K/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1540606968&sr=8-1-spons&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=thermos&psc=1
  14. I find some of my best deals Veterans Day weekend. Most of the BF ads are out by then though so I know if it’s a better deal or not. I pick up small odds and ends throughout the year but the are usually clearance bargains I know can’t be beat.
  15. Know someone who is into yoga, dance, Pilates or who just likes to stretch out all their muscles after a day cooped up at a desk? These straps with built in loops are a life changer. You could always add a yoga mat or foam block with it to make a complete gift set too. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01NBUDTUE/ref=cm_cr_arp_mb_bdcrb_top?ie=UTF8
  16. Was wondering if anyone has used Wish before. Their ad keeps popping up on my Facebook feed and I’ve seen some items with potential for game prizes at great prices. Let me know if you have any experience with them. For in store purchases so far I’m thinking Harbor Freight, Michael’s and Target dollar spot for good places to get a wide variety of cheaper items (that will actually end up being used and are decent quality). I’ll probably keep a closer eye out for the drug store freebies too. Getting really excited about this!
  17. The dog snuffle treat mat above is a great idea. Don’t forget your feline friends this Christmas either. This treat dispenser looks entertaining for food motivated kitties. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B001O8L2UO/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1540434049&sr=8-3&keywords=cat%2Btreat%2Bpuzzle&dpPl=1&dpID=41Qk19Lz6QL&ref=plSrch&th=1&psc=1
  18. We use PlayStation View and it includes both Hallmark and a version of the SyFy network. You can stream it through an Apple TV (which is how we do it) and a few other options I believe if you don’t have a PlayStation.
  19. Wow, I really like the drive up and 2 day free shipping options. I hope that this is a sign that they are going to be really competitive this BF. Can’t wait to see their ad!
  20. For those of you that don’t know the game: https://www.isavea2z.com/saran-wrap-ball-game-rules-ideas/
  21. Qwirkle is a fun game my elderly neighbor introduced me to. It involves some strategy and some luck so it’s good for a wide range of ages. Not good for the colorblind though, sorry. https://www.amazon.com/MindWare-MDS-32016W-Qwirkle-Board/dp/1933054395/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1540347057&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=qwirkle+game&dpPl=1&dpID=61StdI%2Bf0tL&ref=plSrch
  22. Consider it training for the upcoming suspense of the ads leaking [emoji6]
  23. I have seen several people mention the Saran Wrap Ball (“SWB”) in other threads on GD. I was intrigued and went online to look it up and I think it might be fun to introduce my family to it next time we are together for the holidays. Do you have any suggestions or tips I should take into consideration? Type of Saran Wrap? How many times to wrap around a gift before inserting another gift? Ways to avoid a super uneven distribution of the prizes? Ways to avoid the game going too fast? People’s preferred rule variations? Also, what do you guys fill it with (without spending a fortune on gift cards, I’d like to get away with keeping it around $30)? I would think you’d want to try for gender neutral stuff to avoid the men ending up with nail polish or my balding dad getting hair ties [emoji23] We are all adults in my family so give me some ideas on what to fill it with! (that isn’t lottery tickets, candy or mini liquor bottles which I already picked up off the internet ideas)
  24. Badger balm makes a great stocking stuffer especially for the men in your life. They have a variety of types from the traditional Hard Working Hands healing balm to one which is good for sore muscle gym goers. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000066CKS/ref=mp_s_a_1_4_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1540258598&sr=8-4&keywords=badger%2Bbalm&dpPl=1&dpID=61TREn8JRcL&ref=plSrch&th=1&psc=1 A more female friendly version is Smiths Rosebud salve: https://www.amazon.com/Rosebud-RS-Salve-Tin-8-Ounce/dp/B009I4PRI4/ref=pd_aw_fbt_194_img_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=PMX58N4PG9WQ4M71CK43
  25. With my husband’s family I think my favorite tradition is the making of the Christmas Eve pierogi and kielbasa. All the men make the kielbasa and all the women make an assembly line production for the pierogi. With my family I’ve always loved decorating cookies but my mom hated doing cutouts and the bright colored frosting that would stain your tongue (and her tablecloth). One year she refused to make them until I cried (I was probably 6-7 at the time). We compromised that she would still make frosting (I love her homemade frosting, and licking the beaters when she was done) but in pastel colors and we would just decorate slice and bake sugar cookies that came in a log from the store. Everyone got part of what they wanted and it turned out that we liked the taste of the compromise cookie better anyway. We still make them and take them with us when we drive around to look at lights to this day.
