Crap!! Now I have to buy another GBASP
brynnfromtheblock replied to brynnfromtheblock's topic in 2006
Not this one, it truly wasn't her fault.... She is very conscientious and we had a Brownie Mtg at our house Mon night. She cried (she's 6) because she didn't want the other girls to go in her room and mess it up, and I told her I'd make sure they didn't.. anyway one of the hellions took her GBA out of the case and apparently brought it into the babies room... I asked my daughter about it that night when I saw the empty case and she told me the other girl had taken it but she couldn't find out where she put it... (The baby was already asleep so I didn't go look and forgot about it). The baby came out the next morning with it in her hands and dropped it (I say baby but she's 2) so in this case she really didn't want anyone to mess up her things but this girl stayed after the meeting because her mothers a leader and took the GBA... Had it been her fault I'd be the first in line to say too bad, but she didn't do anything wrong and really didn't want the girl there in the first place so it's more my fault than hers.... Thus I'm now saying "crap"!!! and going to buy her a new one!! -

I too am now in need of a GBASP. I bought one on BF for DD#2 and got both her and DD#1 some games, well DD#3 walked in holding DD#1's GBA and dropped it, it's not working now and 3 games were part of her presents so I have to buy another one.... So let me know if anyone sees anything -
Do you ever spend too much money trying to make everyone even?
brynnfromtheblock replied to brynnfromtheblock's topic in 2006
Here I go again, I thought I was done but, DD#3 dropped DD#1's GBA on the floor and now it won't work!! Since I bought DD#1 GBA games for Christmas i now have to buy another one... and that's gonna make it way uneven!! -
Crap!! Now I have to buy another GBASP

I wish I was that lucky.. I'm so mad that I was at CC for the 49 dollar ones and now have to buy one full price.... ARGH!~! and I thought I was done with my shopping!!! -
I bought my DD#2 a GBASP because DD#1 has one and she was dying to try it... Well we got it at CC on BF for 49.99 along with a couple of games, at the same time we got DD#2 the Cheetah Girls and another GBA game for Christmas... This morning DD#3 comes walking in with DD#1's GBA (we had a Brownie meeting last night and one of the other kids took it out of the case and we couldn't find it) and drops it on the floor, of course it now doesn't work it will just pull up the Gameboy wording but won't pull up any of the games.... So now I'm going to have to buy a second one for DD#1 since games are some of her presents AAAHHH !!! I guess I'll have to check dealfinder to see if they're on sale anywhere...

You're entitled to your opinion just like the rest of us are..... but that would be my whole point for the OP in this post.... You are responsible for your daughter and you should be the one making choices for her when she's young not someone else.....for me personally the movie is what made me decide that I didn't think Bratz were appropriate for my daugther. I do not go crazy about it and do let her have a couple of the dolls since she really, really wants them but I also choose which ones as some are worse than others. A little off topic but your post reminds me of the SouthPark where they had the Christmas Pageant and everyone complained about everything, the jewish people didn't like the Christmas tree, the Christians were offended by the menorah, etc, etc and they took everything off the stage so that in the end the kids were just standing there with nothing but a star on the stage and weren't sure what to do because everything else had been taken away... but then the epiliptic kid had a seizure from the star and they had to take it away too!!

I'm in agreement with the SIL that the Bratz are inappropriate, and not what I want my daughter playing with.... that being said I have a 6yoa whose friends all have Bratz and everything on her list is some variation of a Bratz toy, (Bratz dolls, Bratz RC Car, Bratz Van etc). We've come to a sort of compromise, she knows that I don't like the Bratz, and that I don't let her watch the Bratz movie (her cousin had it and from what I saw I have to tell you they were pretty hootchy as someone said before) but I do let her have a couple of dolls, we just don't go overboard and she knows she can't have clothes like that. As for the rest of her list I got her one big Bratz item, I got her the RC car. She will get a bunch of other non-bratz item too. In regards to your MIL though, I think it's a personal decision for you as to what you want your daughter to have/watch. Unless she was the one with the aversion to Bratz (not the SIL) then she should get what your daughter wants as long as she has your permission.

Kim have you ever been to that house down near LakeWorth and the Turnpike, where it is fully decorated, they have a walk through around their house with a huge trainset, Santa is there every night, bubble snow and tons of other stuff? Can't imagine what their bill is!! -
We have one.. the girls love to hunt for it first thing Christmas morning... whoever finds it gets a small gift (this year I have Bratz bubble bath).. we also buy 1 ornament each year for our tree, and 3 more of that same ornament so the girls will have their own ornaments when they move out that remind them of home... the first year we bought them each a pickle ornament to go in their box...

This is what I'm going to do if I can't find anything... (The jeans and sweater idea anyway) -
So, how Clark Griswold does the outside of your house look this year? We had all white icicle lights last year but the kids wanted more color, so we're at this.... can't wait til next year!! Let's see your house pix!! http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a179/brynnfromtheblock/DSCF1775.jpg http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a179/brynnfromtheblock/DSCF1776.jpg http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a179/brynnfromtheblock/DSCF1778.jpg

Anyone know where I can get really cheap Christmas dresses for little girls? Need sizes 12-18 mo, 2-3T, 2 5-6T's and 7.... I'd like to take some pictures of my kids and my brothers kids for my mom for Christmas, but unfortunately if I want my brothers kids to look remotely clean I need to buy his daughters dresses so I don't want to spend to much since I have to buy 5 dresses...

I did thanks... I don't feel too bad I got them at BJ's for 22, but did cringe when I saw them at Target for 19.99

I have 3 kids, and the oldest of course got the new powerwheel, the new kitchen, new vanity etc when she was little, so we still have those things. I haven't really been buying them for the other 2, because we already have them... Well I realized that the little one has never gotten a cool "big present" for Christmas-,that you would just walk out and your eyes would light up,- so I bought her the Little Mermaid Vanity and talked Grandma into buying a new Dora Power Wheels ATV.. w-ell after I did it I realized the middle one has never gotten anything cool either, and I felt so guilty I bought her the bigger Dora Power Wheel.... (way more than I was going to spend on one present for ------any of them).... well then of course I had spent so much more on her than the other 2 and the Odyssey Globe I bought for my 6yoa looked crappy in comparison and not fun like the little ones gifts so I went and got her the Bratz car... well then I looked at the number of presents and they were way off so I bought more for the short ones to even it up.... The logic seemed good at the time, but now I've spent way more than I had planned on....I know a bunch of you out there are going to talk about how good you are budgets and how I should stick with it....... but does anyone else just let it get away from you sometimes?

If you're not dead set on having it this year, after Christmas 2 years ago I bought mine at Things Remembered.. they were very pretty green or red stockings, nice velvet with a holly berry/leaf on it and their names embroidered in gold. I hadn't seen them anywhere (nice ones) for less than 20 bucks a piece and there are 5 of us so that would have been 100 bucks. I got them for about 9 bucks a piece and I love them... maybe you could find something like that...

'' How on earth did you do that?

I think our store had about 40 too, I got one, I'm giving it to my 6yoa as she always wants to use mine... It's not bad for her though, only 3.2MP but has a docking station, rechargeable battery and some internal memory... I bought one of the$8.00 512 cards at Target for her and for 8.00 she can now play away
