Just a caution, I'm in the middle of uploading pictures and I have pix in a couple of different folders. When I finished one folder I hit upload, and a note comes up that says you can choose more pix while these are uploading.. so I go to the biggest folders and am half way through choosing pix from about 600 photos when the original upload finishes, and when it does it closes the window you're working in without saving your choices.... so I had to start over. -

Yikes, I was just sitting here thinking that I love my digital camera, but I print out less actual pictures..perfect opportunity to go in and print them all!! How's the upload process? Did it take forever? -
In case anyone has one in their area here's the link for 2004's deals just to give you an idea.. http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?t=4095 They had the Game Boy Advance SP's for 49.99.. keep in mind this was 2 years ago, they're not that cheap today!!

So Brad and Ross how do you guys get you noticed by CNN and other stations, do you contact them? do they just hear about you and contact you? We could do a "GottaDeal" campaign if it would help.... once the first ad is leaked we could each send something to our local stations... you have so many members now that some of them would be bound to get noticed.

Does Burlington Coat Factory have any good BFsales?
brynnfromtheblock replied to jadedmomof2's topic in 2006
Do they? I hate to buy things I'm unsure of there because they used to only give merchandise credit.. what do they do now? -
What do you do to entertain yourself while you're in line?

Hmm note to self, don't take pictures of me napping in my lawn chair on BF in 80 degree weather..... Hey, we need a smilie in a lawn chair on BF!! -
Wow impressive... my mom and I always laugh when we see the organization.. then 10 minutes later we're in the van going.. "where the hell is that Walmart ad, I thought the DVD was at Circuit City, no wait it's at Best Buy, I need that Brandsmart ad to pricematch....alright somone had a Cabbage Patch doll who was it?, crap I forgot the Barbie dolls" I think I'm going to take your lead and organize a little better this year.. Last year though.. 2 copies of the ads thrown in the van, perused at each location.. definitely no purse, credit cards in pocket and a cell phone so we can say "I got it, I got it!!, rendezvous at the checkout line stat!!".

I hate the way BB is on BF.... there are so many people lined up and they don't really have the order thing worked out so that it is not mad chaos... if you don't pick up what you want and run for the front you could be in line for hours!! At least they give tickets for the big items though... we went there last year for the 149 dollar emachine.. we were there at 10 so first 6 or so in line. We got our tickets and when the doors open they said "follow the red footoprints for the emachine" so we follow them around the store and they lead all the way back to just inside the front door where there are now 100 people waiting...the sales people weren't ready... we're pissed 'cause we first ones there, finally they ask who has tickets and we have to pick our way through 100 really mad people who didn't have tickets... not a good experience. They had you pay and go out the back door, which was good but had we wanted anything else we'd have been sol.

I wouldn't go if I didn't need anything, but love to do it while I'm there.... my mom and I love to watch the people who have the ads photocopied and pictures /locations of what they wanted noted all typed up etc... Except we probably shouldn't be laughing because we're always looking back at the ads at about 8am going.. where was that DVD player????

People are pretty friendly!! I had this lady in front of me last year at BB(Keep in mind that I got there at 10PM so she was there before me) who was a little odd but we talked for a while, didn't get around to asking her what she was buying until about 3am at which point she told us she was there for the Xbox.... I was like ummmm BB doesn't have an Xbox would you like to see my ad and she said "no thanks" and got up and left... OK number 1, I wouldn't be sitting outside all night if I didn't know for sure the store had what I wanted and number 2) If I had already been there for 5 plus hours I would look at the ad to make sure it wasn't on there!! You meet all types!! -
Last year we were out by 9pm the night before and returned about 1 or 2pm the next day. (got my kids one of those 148 dollar desktops from BB)

This doesn't help most of you because the stores are only in South Florida and North Georgia, but if you have one near you I have found that Brandsmart has the best doorbusters of most of the stores. If we want something at Brandsmart we go to other stores in that area. They usually have 2 or 3 awesome deals then a bunch of other ones. The best thing about them though is that they have a couple of hundred of whatever their big doorbusters are, so usually if you're there when they open you get one. Last year we got the IPOD shuffles for 48 bucks (I think they had 200) and the year before we got Gameboy Advance SP's for 59 (I think they had 200 of these also)

all depends on what's open first and what we really want.....then we make our plan
-
We were there at 10pm last year and just chatted and brought some card trivia games, but others had footballs, monopoly games and all kinds of stuff.. What do you do?

Our power goes out quite frequently here and today it went out 3 times for a couple of minutes each.... The last time it did I couldn't get the computer to come back on. I turned everything off, nothing. The monitor was on but said it was receiving no info. I had a moment of panic thinking my computer can't die now, BF is coming!!! Luckily took all the plugs out of the wall and let it sit a while and it came back up. Last year our cable went out a week before BF and didn't come back up for a while after, I had to go to my mom's to get my Gotta Deal fix!! So now I'm sitting here making copies of all the digital pictures that I haven't backed up in the last couple of months...

I had the Joann's craft village and was very happy with it... I loved getting the pieces there because they would always have 75percent off and you could get houses for 5.00. My aunt collected dept 56 and I always thought "I would never spend the money", she started sending me a house a year and all of a sudden the houses were like half and half..now I'm kind of addicted... I wish she hadn't started it!!
