The one at the mall I usually go to is almost always jam packed on BF. But that could be because it’s a big, busy mall, so idk what standalone stores are like. Seems irresponsible to me tbh.

Okay y’all so here’s a few questions... I should be okay to get the throws and other items if I order around 5:30 am ET, yeah? I can’t really stay up for the sale start because I teach high school and wake up at 5:30 am anyway. Second, if I load my cart now, will it update with the correct prices once the sale starts?? That way I can just order when I wake up?

I know that they can’t possibly do this with the sheer amount of items they put on sale, but “save up to xx%” doesn’t really help when making price comparisons between amazon and other retailers...[emoji24]

Exactly. It seems the trend is pointing towards earlier releases despite the late BF. I also think it’s trending to start holiday preparations earlier - as in, it’s becoming more socially acceptable to decorate and prepare for the holidays in early November as opposed to after thanksgiving. That trend might be affecting ad releases too. [emoji4]

I think with Kohl’s having already released their ad earlier than usual despite the late BF date, we may actually see the bigger ads in the next few days. Or maybe I’m only saying that because I’m super excited for Target’s ad and I don’t want to wait any longer...[emoji23][emoji12]

Y’all are gonna think I’m crazy, but the $3.99 preschool board games!!! I actually bought Cooties at Target one of the first years I ever did Black Friday. My friends at work and I had a blast playing it, felt like we were kids again!

I have a general Christmas budget (like a certain amount of money per person I’m shopping for) that I try to stick to, Black Friday or otherwise. Of course some people end up over, and others end up under due to great BF deals, but it all tends to balance out. I find this easier than an overall budget because it helps me keep track of what I’m spending per person. As for the items I buy for myself/household stuff, I don’t really have a budget for that. If I see something I want/need for way cheaper than normal, I just go for it. And for the stuff I buy on BF every year (cat litter!), I don’t spend money on it all year except for on BF so everything balances out.

Overall its been consistent with where it's been over the last few years."” It’s interesting to me because I went to outlets with my sisters-in-law (around midnight) and they said it was the most crowded they’ve ever seen it. The line to check out at Old Navy was like 45 min. When I got back home I went to the outlets here (at like 5:00 pm) and it was also more crowded than I’ve seen it in recent years. We were trying to figure out what it is that resulted in so many people at the outlets. I thought maybe that with some of the bigger box stores either no longer opening on Thanksgiving or having weird hours, that maybe that drove people towards the outlets. It just didn’t seem to me that in-person shopping was really on the decline with all the crowds I experienced. It reminded me of Black Friday years ago when all the stores opened at 1 am and I stood in line at Target in the cold. Now...obv my own personal experience is of course not a thermometer for the rest of the country, but it seems like the e-commerce on Black Friday isn’t putting the brick and mortars out of business.

It has gone up over the past several years, but...$1-$2 extra a tub is really messing y’all up? I know every dollar counts sometimes, but it’s still cheaper than it is all year. Plus, as is on the ad, you can buy online at BF prices and pick up in store this year. No lines for that!!

Yeah, but not really worth the disrupted sleep at this point in the week in my opinion. I mean...come Wednesday night when I don’t have to get up before the sun rises the next morning it’s all systems go, but it just made the most sense to forego the extra 5% and chance it... I was so excited loading my cart and everything before I went to bed that I accidentally slept with my contacts in and woke up not being able to see up close. Finally realized it (5:30 am is hard) and got back to shopping!!!
