  1. I'm still waiting on one more thing to arrive and they just changed the delivery date from Thursday to Friday
  2. I didn't do as much BF shopping this year as in previous years, probably because my children are grown and I didn't need much. Mainly shopping for the grand this year...Here's what I ended up with Pre BF Online Walmart: 2 Rubbermaid container sets Towels, hand towels and washcloths Pioneer Women's bake set (first set the baking dish was broke on arrival, they sent me a new set and told me to keep, donate or trash the other set) Kohl's: 2 Big One Throws 6 candles 3 Sweater Dresses Bath and Body Works: 13 Lotions and 16 hand soap (pre BF) and 12 Sprays (BF weekend) Black Friday I ventured out to my usual stores... Lowes: Poinsettias Christmas Tree Shops: Rubbermaid containers Gift bags Cella's Chocolate covered cherries Oven mitts, pot holders and kitchen towels (Christmas themed) 2 boxes Christmas Cards I usually buy boxes of Victor Allen coffee (42 k-cups) for $10 every BF that lasts me practically a year, but this year I was disappointed to find out that they had been trying for months to get some in and were not successful... Carter's: 1 Adult/1 kid matching pj's Old navy: $5 pajama bottoms (the material seems really cheap and thin this year) Target: Candle $1 one spot items (stocking stuffers) Walmart didn't garner a trip instore this year... I wanted to go to JCPenney just to look, but didn't... I finished shopping early this year and headed home for leftovers, my couch and TV...
  3. No cheap $8/$9 Rayovac batteries… I mean there’s no comparison to Energizer, but you can really see inflation if during BF you notice the sharp increase in batteries and poinsettias [emoji23][emoji23]

    Newspaper ads

Hoping to find a newspaper on Thursday for the ads… I think they still sell newspapers around these parts [emoji23]
  5. There are a couple stores that I have to do in person on BF every year so I will definitely be up, out and about even if I don’t buy much… it sets the tone for me and gets me more in the holiday spirit…
  6. I need towels so I may stop in… I already bought the Pikachu toy they have advertised for 50% off so now I have to get the difference for that… but no Rubbermaid containers this year… unless that’s an unadvertised deal…
  7. Meh… Rubbermaid containers and Anchor Hocking set…
  8. Yarn, yarn and more yarn that I may have to grab up!!!!
  9. I'm sure... it was $20 so yeah it would probably cost more to send me a new one and send me a shipping label to send the damaged one back...
  10. I forgot about the poinsettias I get every year!!!! I just saw that the price has increased to 2/$3 this year at Lowe's... still not bad, but I'm use to the $0.50 price...
  11. Well, I won't say anything negative about the Bills as we've been playing good the past couple years... but from previous years, you know how we played
  12. Sooo I purchased the Pioneer Woman bake set for $20... it was delivered yesterday and before I even opened it I could tell something was broken... sure enough, the baking dish was broke in several places on one end, but the candle I also bought was intact (it had a fragile sticker on it)... I immediately started a return online for a replacement, selected to drop off the package at USPS/Fed Ex... went to the next page and it said no need to return it. Your new item is on its way. You can keep, donate or discard the original item
  13. I hope so, they're playing my Bills
  14. Oh nooooooo!!!! not airport cuisine, lol...
  15. Every year I compare prices at Lowes and Home Depot for special pack batteries and poinsettia… not sure which store I’ll be buying them from this year… guess I’ll have to wait for Home Depot’s ad to make that decision…
  16. Buffalo... was supposed to visit my mom in Jacksonville, NC this year as a surprise... her b-day falls on Thanksgiving this year but those flights are outrageous... I was able to see her in August so I'm good for now...
  17. I feel like I never have enough lashes (my own are scarce, lol) so I may have to grab dome of those at 40% off...
  18. I'm traditional when it comes to Thanksgiving Dinner so I don't really change up the menu too much ... I also go to relatives for potluck every year (yes, I still cook my own dinner), not sure what is on that menu, but I'm sure a turkey is involved... this year a request was made for my spaghetti salad (as an appetizer), sweet potato pie and apple crisp so that's what I'll be taking... Here's my tentative menu for home, some things I'm still questioning if I'll feel like doing: Roasted Turkey Dressing Baked macaroni and cheese Sweet Potato casserole - two different kinds Collard Greens Potato Salad?? (may take this off the menu this year depending on how I feel) Rice Cranberry sauce - homemade and the canned kind Hot water cornbread?? Jiffy cornbread Hawaiian sweet rolls Sweet potato pies - 5 total Apple crisps - 3 total Coconut Pound Cake?? Ice Cream
  19. I said just one/two cute ones this year... I still have several from last year that are still in the packages
  20. With so many stores doing weekly or pre-BF sales I'm not surprised that the big ads we usually see by now are not out... I don't like it, but the reality is retailers want to drive sales on as many items as they can (to get you into the store or onto the website) before they give "deeper discounts"... Let's be honest, most people are out and about and would go back to one sale on actual BF into the weekend and then Cyber Monday. Target, for one, is busy every weekend and maybe they don't want to go back to the overwhelming crowds they had pre-Covid so they keep the weekly sales going...
  21. I briefly looked at the add, but might stop in for some yarn...
  22. There are a few items I may have to get from here...
