Hope everyone had a safe and happy new years eve!

Checking in! Congrats to all the gift card winners!

Won my first t-shirt contest this year, so I'm excited for another. Have to admit though, I'm not one who usually sticks around all year. But, I'm gonna try!

I did pretty good online and in store. I didn't have a lot on my list and no must have big ticket items so it was fairly easy. Got the George Foreman two meal grill from Target for my son who has just moved out on his own. Got the usual non-gift items from walmart (rugs, socks), a picture frame and chenille blanket from Target for secret santa and a $6 dog bed from Atwoods. Good times.

I figured my list and I don't really have many "must haves" this year. Not that the ads are bad, just that my kids are older so there aren't as many big ticket items I need. There are a couple of things that I really need, but they are at different stores than I usually shop at so it will be interesting figuring out where to go first. Following my niece's lead on this one. She has four kids six and under so we will go where she needs to go.

When the kids were little, I would keep most stuff at my mom's house. I would put it all in big trash bags and put it in the shed in the backyard on Christmas Eve and then move it all in from there. One year my mom bought me a box of chocolate and without telling me she put it in with my stuff so I could open it on Christmas Eve with my kids. When I went out to get the bag that night, I couldn't figure out why there was wrapping paper and a chewed up box in the yard. The dog had gotten in the shed and got my box of chocolate out! She didn't mess up any of the kids' stuff though. I keep a small notebook with a list of everything I buy and check it when it is wrapped.

Yay!!! My first win!!! Thank you and Congrats to everyone!!!!

Where are you going first this year on Black Friday/Thanksgiving?
Doresia replied to Rockfordmom's topic in 2017
Always Walmart first. We will make a plan for the other stores after we get all the ads. -
As the site's members anticipate sending and receiving gifts, ornaments, and Christmas cards to and from all over the country.

I agree, that is way too much money for a Christmas tree. With that being said...... If I had an extra 500 or 600 (never gonna happen) it would be tempting. It takes a long time to put up and decorate my tree. I love it when its done though.

A lot of good ideas on here. I usually do a bag of my kids' favorite candy.

Moore and Norman, Oklahoma. Will probably end up somewhere in South OKC for the traditional after BF shopping breakfast
-
I get the memory foam rugs from walmart and the Axe gift set from Dollar General. I used to get socks at Gordman's every year, but they aren't here this year so......

We started out with just me and my sister. Over the years we have added to our group. We have had some relatives go just one year and decided not to go again. The last few years my niece has started going. My daughter (17) went last year and wants to go again this year. So it will be me, my sister, my daughter and my niece this year.

I might get some stuff online, but I actually get more frustrated with the online experience than I do with the crowds in the stores.
-
I love this! I just looked it up. It actually sounds like a typewriter. I need this, although, I don't use a tablet so I wouldn't use it. Pretty expensive decoration.

this may not make me the most popular with hardcore BF shoppers, but if I had to go out in weather like in the pic, I would have to stay at home. BRRR!
-
I don't normally shop at Kohl's, but it looks like there are some things in here that i might try to get.
-
I check at least once a day, depending on how busy I am at work.

My daughter really wants one of these.

We always have to go to Walmart, but definitely not my favorite. Gordman's was a favorite. We would go our separate ways, get out items and then meet back up in the line and just visit while waiting our turn to check out. Great times. I'm gonna miss that store

My son is a mechanic and LOVES his Mustang. He always already knows! We need to find a way to surprise him

I like to put my tree up the Saturday after Thanksgiving. We decorate the whole house though, so sometimes it is into the next week before we get everything done. I live with my mom and her house is where the whole family gathers for dinner and gift exchanges and that is a week after Christmas so we don't take anything down until after that.

Throughout the year I see things I want and think that I need to make a list for my kids. But of course I never make the list and now I have forgotten everything I saw that I thought I wanted. If I was forced to come up with something, purses and boots are always welcome.
