  1. Oh gosh I missed that part!! Thanks for pointing that out! That makes it a lot more reasonable for sure! I'm still hoping I can get the TV I'm after at Sears. Walmart is my back up. Knowing that you have until Sunday to register the card makes me feel more confident in my back up. Thanks again!
  2. So for those still confused... basically this "guarantee card" is a Walmart gift card. And you go online and register it for the item before midnight. If you don't have it registered before that, it is just a plain old Walmart gift card for the exact amount you spent purchasing the "item." I have to say, whatever Walmart executive came up with this idea is a pretty good/sneaky businessman. Because let's say you get the card, but don't get it registered in time... instead of refunding you in cash or credit card (whatever you paid with, as they NORMALLY would do if you return something within the appropriate time-frame) you get your full amount of money back, but only in the form of a Walmart gift card. Basically the "guarantee card" only guarantees that Walmart will be getting your dough haha. So if you are on a strict budget, and had a back-up plan to go somewhere else in the morning to find a similar deal if you couldn't snag Walmart's, you're screwed. Because the money you had pulled for that item is now locked into Walmart only. Gosh I'm still in awe over the fact that stores seem to get sneakier and more profit-driven each year. That's business though! So in all, I suppose this set up will probably get a few more people the item, but Walmart's the one making out on this deal, because they know the server will be overloaded at that time. So if you shop at Walmart a lot, and have enough money to cover the purchase at another store in case you can't get it registered on time, I say go for it!

    Super Saturday?

I've been signed up for their emails for a few years, and I don't recall getting an email about a secret sale. I could be wrong, but I think I'll keep checking back here just in case haha!
  4. You know, I always see people bashing Best Buy, and sometimes I understand...others I don't. I understand when you are complaining about customer service and things like that. What I don't understand is when people complain about their prices being higher than some competitors. My husband works for Best Buy's distribution, so he gets the store discount - I will not say what discount they get because I don't know if it's allowed - but I will tell you that their discount is a certain percentage above cost. Meaning my husband pays only a certain percent more than what it costs Best Buy to get it, and it's a very low percentage btw. And let me tell you, when we buy tv's or computers or anything like that, most of the time the SALE price is better than his discount!! Don't get me wrong, I know they gouge you on the smaller items (you would be surprised!!) But really, you can't blame a company for trying to sell things at a profit....profit is the point of opening the store. And BB being a specialty store, they don't have all the other small things and general items other stores have that they can gouge you on. So of course they've got to charge a few bucks more here and there. I don't hear anyone complaining about Walmart and Amazon's prices. Yet they are making MORE money on us than BB is. It all boils down to the fact that other stores might be able to charge the $50 less on that tv because they'll make it up when you buy that toaster or that throw pillow you saw and had to have. And btw, most stores that price match won't do it on black friday. Thankfully a few do, but that's not the norm. When your store consists pretty much of only high priced things you would be a fool to price match on BF.
  5. Aside from the obvious (getting such great deals) I love the planning - making lists for each store, planning out my route as best I can. Curiously enough, I love standing outside in the freezing line with a nice hot cappuccino warming my hands as I people watch and chat with others in line. Next, I love the rush of the doors opening, and all the hustle and bustle inside - my eye always on the prize! And lastly, after I've found and purchased all my treasures, I love getting home (the sun barely shining yet) and wrapping all I can before my kiddies wake up! I can't wait until my kids are old enough to join me in my madness!!
