To actually help you, you can get cheap but decent looking stuff from www.silverjewelryclub.com . Someone else posted here about it and I got a silver and pink ring for a niece who loses her jewelry. It looks very nice for $5.99! And thank to whoever posted about it in the first place.

Nothing says "I don't like you and was forced to buy a gift for you" quite like a Chia pet!

Handicapped really means nothing. She has to wait in line like everyone else. $10 says she borrowed the the handicapped placard, too!! I can't believe what these animals were doing on BF. I'm so glad that I didn't go through that because I would fight back hard enough to make them remember never to try it again. People should stop blaming the stores and start blaming the morons that are acting this way. The stores can have all the security available and some people will still trampled, shove, and steal just for the thrill of it.

The people who stand in line for hours just to buy tons of hot sellers to throw on Ebay are actually quite stupid. They are wasting their time and still paying too much. Now that everyone and their monkey are putting the cheap computers and the like on EBay, they have driven the prices down. Not to mention that sales tax and Ebay fees are eating into their profit. You get a resellers license (or a business license), look up wholesalers on the net, and order as much as you want without having to pay the sales tax. Do it legally and stop hogging all the stuff that people need for presents!!!!

I just tried it and they are now saying that the code cannot be applied to my purchases. I guess the candy store is closed! I could have used this stuff, too. -
Customer buys $1300 computer from BB and discovers WOOD inside the box
msomnipotent replied to RossMAN's topic in 2005
I would never have believed this sort of thing actually happens if I didn't read it here. People that return used junk, or wood, should be banned from shopping. People who cannot control themselves and act like human beings in public should be confined. Maybe the raving lunatic should be told that he is being sentenced to 4 1/2 years, and then after letting him freak out for a while be told, "Oh, I didn't really mean it.". Threatening to kill someone should always be taken seriously. It's one thing if you say, "Oh, I could just kill you." to a friend after they pulled a prank on you, but to walk up to some stranger's face and tell them you will kill them takes a special kind of crazy. He should have mandatory anger classes at the very least. And I'm checking all of my packages from now on! -
It's nuts what people will do for a stupid game. A BB employee and I were talking about it. He said they were not allowing the employees and privileges and they had to camp outside like everyone else. I officially feel old now. I told him the last gaming system I owned was Colecovision (sp, pronounced Ko Lee Ko), and he never even heard of it.

I had my baby with me, but didnt get there until the store was already opened. Even then I got "the look" from people. My babysitter blew me off!! I had no choice but to bring her!

Carson Pirie Scott is not on your list, but it is certainly on mine!!! They give out so many coupons, but then the fine print excludes basically anything you would want to buy. And it was a MADHOUSE!!! There was a line 20 deep just for the escalator! No employees to be seen, and the cash registers had lines of 50 people each. And only one register for each department. Not to mention that they only stocked one of each doorbuster. It was more than a waste of my time going there today.

I have to say the Best Buy I went to today was the best. It was certainly worth the drive there. The manager even remembered us from buying a tv there a few days ago. The place was a total mob scene! The line for checkout started at the front, snaked through all the aisles, wound around the whole back length of the store, and back up to the front again. Employees were grabbing stacks of merchandise from the store room and walking around asking people in line if they needed what they had. Even though the store was small, they seemed to have more of what was on sale than the larger BB in my city. Even the other shoppers were nice and polite. No shoving, swearing, or line jumping. They even tolerated my baby screaming when my husband accidentally pulled her hair, and I rolled over this guy's foot with the stroller. I would have been punched at some of the other stores! My only "beef" is that they forgot to charge me for a monitor I bought and I will have to drive there again tomorrow to sort it out. I know most people would just keep it, but I can't enjoy anything if I didn't pay for it.

I cleaned up this year!!! Kohls: Oral B sonic toothbrush $53.75 after coupon and rebate. Saved $55.25 remote control truck $16.49. Saved $13.50 frying pan $23.79. Saved $16.20 4 fleece sleepers (total) $24.48. Saved $47.52 Plus, I got a $20 coupon for spending that much. Best Buy: laptop $354.99. Saved $394.01 (It's a long story why I got the laptop for $354.99 instead of $379.99) some notebook accessory kit $29.99 AR. Saved $88.99 SanDisk 512MB MP3 player $39.99. Saved $60 Seagate internal hard drive $29.99 AR. Saved $70 Midland 8 mile radios $14.99. Saved $30 512MB flashdrive $19.99. Saved $40 1 GB flashdrive $39.99. Saved $70 They allowed me to PM the laptop because I bought the Panasonic 50" plasma tv a few days ago, and bought all the accessories to go with it. I had the 12% uber coupon for the tv (saved $480!!!), and they took 12% off ALL the tv accessories instead of just one item (saved a total of $160 inc rebates for the accessories). Plus I bought an HP computer and saved $50 with a rebate. PLUS, I saved an additional 1% just for shopping in a different city. My city's tax is so high! All told, I saved about $1,677.32 after rebates!!!!!! Not having to stand in line outside when it is 10 degrees out and very windy, PRICELESS!!!!

I already bought 2 of the BB laptops and BB promised to PM tomorrow. I have to return one, though. We originally bought one for a niece as a graduation gift and one for my husband's parents, but now hubster's siblings have changed their mind and want to buy them something else. I thought it a bit rude, to say the least! I guess it is just as well. I felt a bit piggy asking for two anyway. Oh, and we just bought an HP A1250N computer instead of waiting for BF because they gave us a deal on it. http://images.bestbuy.com/BestBuy_US/images/products/7439/7439505_rc.jpg

I always got screwed with the lottery system for concert tickets. I hate it. I say first come better be first served, even if I am not first in line.

http://money.cnn.com/2005/11/23/news/economy/holiday_midnightfriday/index.htm I have noticed that my local stores have different opening times, even from what was posted in their windows just 2 days ago! So check to make sure they haven't changed their minds in the past few days.

At least musiang would have worked in some cardio during the beating. You can never exercise too much!

I think Lowes just had a deal on the Kenmore Elite series. I have an HE3t model and love it. I use less than 1/2 the amount of Tide I used to use, less water, and waste less time doing laundry because I can fit so much more in them. I think Sears and others usually have washers and dyers on sale in January to go with the whites sales. They usually offer rebates. You might want to ask an employee if they know.
-
I would have printed out the sale paper and then beat her over the head with it. I was getting a lot of attitude about asking BF questions at my local BB store. They act as if I am stealing money out of their pockets or something! Nothing is wrong with being an informed consumer.

BB is requiring AOL sign up for their computer deals this week. We had to pay $250 more for our computer because of it. I made sure that BB will not be requiring AOL sign up for the BF laptop.

I can understand putting them up when the weather is willing, but some of my neighbors have never taken theirs down, even though the homeowners association requires them to do so. But even the ones that take them down are putting them up really early this year. So many have sprung up since Halloween that it really irritates me. Several have animatronics and what-nots covering every square inch of their property already. I am lucky enough not to be their next door neighbor. My husband was listening to some show where they had the producer dress up as "The Angry Pilgrim" and drive around in a automobile looking for houses with Christmas decorations. He would take all the decorations down and tell the homeowners that he is the angry pilgrim. He was lucky he didn't get shot! I consider the holiday a triumph if I just get a tree up.

It is usually taped in the middle of October, from what my aunt says. She is just dying to get on that particular show. However, The Tribune says that this year's episode was just taped about 2 Fridays ago. I didn't mark the event on my calendar since I never watch her show. So it may have even been 3 Fridays ago. I refuse to ever watch Oprah or Phil or whoever spins their show off of Oprah. Something just isn't right with her show. One friend started watching it and soon started every sentence with, "Oprah says..." and then made several other friends watch it. They all started their sentences with "Oprah says...". I believe it is some sort of TV hoo-doo voo-doo and I will have no part!!!

I would have beaten them within an inch of their lives, and I am an arthritic munchkin. I'm only 5'2", but I can't tolerate people taking advantage of the elderly. My grandmother lives 2 blocks away from a Jewel that was just on the news because some idiot was preying on elderly women for their purses and cut the finger off of one for a cheap gold ring. We make sure a family member drives her where ever she needs to shop, and we stay with her the whole time. All too often, that sort of thing happens even when it is not BF.
-
I used to buy store bought ones and personalize them by adding pictures and a short note inside. Not the brag letters people send out every year, but a quick how ya do kind of thing. I found out everyone, even my grandmother, was just throwing them away, so I stopped sending them. It's a waste of money to me now. I keep all of mine and string them up along my banisters to use a decorations. I guess I am the only one in my family that keeps them.

I just spent ALL day and 1/2 of a tank of gas driving between the nasty BB by me and the BB I planned to go to on BF. I'm glad I went. The one that is almost an hour away from me allowed me to buy TWO Toshiba laptops and will pricematch on BF. They also said to wait until BF to buy the extended warranty because the warranty price is dictated by the purchase price. I will post here later if this BB was telling the truth about everything, because I went a little nuts and spent over $7,000 there. It's probably the reason why they allowed me to buy 2 of the laptops. To make a long story short, the plasma tv I bought is on back order. The nasty BB said it wont arrive until after the holidays and even then they have a waiting list. They also don't even know when they could order it because the company wasn't taking orders anymore. The other BB said it will be delivered to my home in about 3 days, maybe a week. And they gave free shipping. So we will see.

Who has taken something out of someone else's hands?
msomnipotent replied to Miranda1313's topic in 2005
I have seen it happen, and it happened to my sister. I would never even think of doing that. I would ask someone if they really needed the item and see what they said. But if anyone tried to do that to me, I would create such a scene that everyone would probably see me on the evening news. I really would follow them around the store yelling that they are a thief and whatnot until they left the store in shame. -
I drove an hour away to a smaller BB store to do some snooping for BF. I found a plasma tv and computer I like that are decently priced and will not be on sale for BF. They are also having no finance charges until 2008 on all purchases $299 and up. Of course that deal ends on 11/23. I'm so happy I went because they WILL do the price matching on BF!!!!! So now I am going to buy 2 laptops, a computer, and probably a plasma tv, get the free financing, and will get the BF price later on. I will scream if this girl didn't know what she was talking about because she sounded too goo to be true. She also said she would be giving us a "package deal" to reduce the price even more because we are buying so much. PLUS if get an additional $100 if I sign up for the Comcast digital package which will only be $5 more per month since I already have Comcast. I wonder if it is too good to pass up or too good to be true? We shall see!
