  1. Sweet! Can't remember the last time I saw hubby in some new jeans, sans holes or concrete! Thank you!
  2. I love HalfPrice! And my fav book is probably Flowers for Algernon, by Daniel Keyes
  3. My first black friday was 6 years ago. I was run over from a guy behind me; he put his forarm out, right into my back, I face planted, slid across the floor, only to watch him run away, no apology offered. Meanwhile, my sister was stopped like a deer in the headlights, trying to decide if she should pick me up, or go after the laptop that we were trying to get for my mom. I pathetically waved her on. We didn't get the laptop, and I ended up with a chipped knee cap. I totally understand the weirdness now of being able to predict cold weather coming on because of the pain in my knee! Now, every year when I go, my mom tags along. Stands in line with me for the 7-8 hours. And all I can hear is "tick, tick, tick" noise that her finger tip makes as it flicks the top of her pepper spray can in her pocket. Guess a mother never loses the need to protect her baby! :)
  4. OMG! Thanks Art, for taking one for the team and answering the question that many of us probably had...."do these general public purchases really work?"!!! I would be curious, as well, but glad that you tested it out for me!
  5. Erinplus3, I sent you a private message with the seller information on ebay. They have great feedback, and were very fast in processing. We had the tv within days of purchasing, they purchase direct from Vizio, and Vizio holds the warranty! We've been extremely pleased.
  6. I was concerned about the same thing, but took the plunge since it was going to be a secondary tv for us and not the primary (going in our bedroom). we bought a refurbed Vizio off of ebay, 32" VO32L, 3 HDMI ports, 2 component hookups, 1 s-video. We love it. We still have yet to decide to buy the extended warranty, but it is an option to purchase in case you want to. I like that the manufacturer themselves are the ones who refurbed and offer the first 90-day warranty. Let me know if you want to know the seller on ebay we bought from. Good Luck!
  7. if he's not going to be saving too terribly much, it still may be worth doing the arcade and then going to microsoft to get the 20gb harddrive for it in the memory upgrade section. Last I saw the 20gb drives for these were around 30 bucks.
  8. I am with Tmobile and get charged .15 to send, .15 to receive. They do have texting plans that would make it "free" either way, but I don't do it enough to pay for the plan. But I do pay every time someone texts me.
  9. Sweet! My inner child is doing leaps and bounds. I LOVE this catalog! I requested the tool one for the man, as well! Thank You!
  10. A Sears in Omaha was pretty organized. They had a cage with all of their "hot" items contained inside with a few employees. People waited in line, took their ads up and said what items they wanted. They were allowed 1 of each item requested per customer. No chaos, no fighting, no injuries, happy customers. I was extremely impressed with their organization, especially after experiencing extreme chaos and violence at Wal-Mart before the trip to Sears. Two opposite extremes, two different results. Sears should be applauded.
  11. after getting run over, literally, in walmart (bellevue, ne) and suffering a knee injury from hitting the floor, only to have the HP ripped out of my hands and a fist fight start over it b/w a few guys, i walked out extremely disappointed. toshiba at best buy didn't pan out either, as the in-store manager would not honor the online price that said in-store purchase only. ended up going with the dell inspiron 2200. same specs essentially, only have to pay $40 for s&h. free printer and wireless card comes with it, however, so i guess it's a wash. could have saved myself some pain to just do it this way to start with. wal-mart needs a better process to protect it's customers, and it's employees.
