  1. They have been discontinued now. Wish I had bought a dozen of them!!!!!!!!!! Christy
  2. The only issue I have at all is that my mom is driving me crazy. She ordered some stuff Saturday that is supposed to be delivered no later than the 22nd - she is freaking out that it is not here yet - it is TUESDAY!!!!!!!!!!!! :cheesy: Even if it does not come by Friday, it is for my dh & he will not care as long as he gets it before the end of the year!!!!! Christy
  3. I order from them a good bit - with 4-8 kids on any given day, we blow through batteries, no matter the brand, so we like these. They seem to last just as long as the Energizers that my dh thinks he has to have... Christy
  4. I've been pleased with them also. I have already gotten my price adjust for 2 items & 1 of them has not been charged yet..... I have gotten some AWESOME deals!!!!!!! Christy
  5. I ordered 4 - 1 for each of the kids. I may order more after seeing them. Thanks OP! Christy
  6. I called about the flash drives, too - they were the EXACT SAME THING as the ones on sale this week for $19.99. She argued with me & argued with me - I talked to 3 different managers on Sunday & none of them could do proce overrides. Amazingly though, my order shipped on Monday after I was told that they would be cancelled & I told them that they would hear from my attorney (not that I would really spend money on something like this, but my best friend works in an attorney's office & would give them hell if I asked!) It would NOT have been so bad had they not had the EXACT SAME THING in-stock & just not wanting to send me mine!!!!!!! Christy
  7. I just placed an order for 3 items, 2 of them are now several $$$ cheaper. I sent an e-mail - maybe they will refund it - give me more money to spend! Christy
  8. I agree - stick around. I did not so much this summer, but last winter (February, I think) or spring when Toys R Us had their HUGE, HUGE sales, I got tons & tons & tons of toys for cheap, cheap!!!!! I have donated so many things & got so many free things that I have really been finished for my kids for MONTHS - I keep buying bc people keep posting deals, though! Christy
  9. My dh buys lots of stuff from musiciansfriend.com & americanmusical.com - both have good prices & good customer service in our experience...
  10. The games are regular $14.99 to $19.99: (the first price listed is regular price) Bumparena 6, 7 & up | $16.99 $9.99 Cariboo 3 & up | $16.99 $9.99 Conga 8 to Adult| $19.99 $9.99 Hoopla Adults | $19.99 $9.99 Whoonu 8 to Adult| $14.99 $9.99 The Family Fun Game 8 to Adult |$19.99 $9.99 I bought 3 - we had all the others!!!! We LOVE Cranium!
  11. If you were not able to get it - cranium has it on the website for $39.99 & free shipping. Christy
  12. I also got screwed on some smaller items - so I understand your frustrations to a point. They took the order, charged my card & even sent me a shipping notice with tracking info, but then 24 hours later sent me a backorder notice. I still had hopes the package would show up, but it never even showed up in the carrier's system...... Thanks for reminding me that I need to contact customer service to see if they will sub products..... Christy
  13. Did they not have it on the Cranium site? I order lots of stuff from them & remember seeing these on there, but did not really pay attention to whether or not they were in stock. Free shipping if you spend $25 - I think that is an all the time deal! Christy
  14. I just bought gifts for all 3 of my SILs & my niece (who is very close to our age & is more like dh's sister). Do any of them collect anything? I gave 1 SIL a cookie jar & 1 SIL candle sticks bc they both collect those items. Find out if they have any hobbies or special interests. My other SIL LOVES Paula Deen & I gave her the new cookbook. My niece & her dh bought a new house & she is learning to take care of the flower beds, so I bought her a gardening tool kit. I like the ideas of the gift certificates for pampering at a local spa. Most everyone likes candles, so that is an idea. Good luck! Christy

    employee BF question

My ex-husband worked at Wal-Mart for YEARS - he was not at any kind of advantage for Black Friday at all. They had to put all the merchandise on the floor & if they did not work, they could stand in line like everyone else. If they had to work, it was tough. He has not worked there in a few years, so I don't know how it is now & I am pretty sure it depends on the store managers. Christy
  16. We did not even go to Wal-Mart until about 3 this afternoon - there were tons of the DVDs & the TVs (not the 52 inch one), the PlayDoh tables, the Superman toyz - well - lets just say most everything was still well stocked - the store was NOT packed & folks were passing up some decent deals bc they had bought them at other stores who price matched, too (Sears, KMart - I even heard one woman say that KB Toys price matched some stuff for her this morning).
  17. My daughter got the FP Learning House the year she turned 1 & we had a foster daughter 8 months older - they both LOVED it - so did my 7 year old who was MR. Kaileigh still plays with it & so does my niece - K will be 3 next month & my niece will be 4 in January. My older kids like to play with it with her, too - maybe my kids are weird!!!!!! My oldest son got a little train set with snap together tracks for his Christmas one year - he was either 1 or 2 - & he only gave it up when my niece was about a year old (he was 8 at the time), so I think the train set that a PP suggested is a great idea. Christy
  18. I changed the zip code & it came up as a 1 day sale on Wednesday, BUT I called both stores here locally & finally talked to managers - the One Day Sale HERE is Thursday - they are getting flooded with calls. He thinks that the deals will be available online Wednesday, though - he is NOT SURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! About the home theater system, it is a Curtis & is only normally $39.99, so ......
  19. The ad came up for our store, too & the staff thought they were open (at least when I was in there Sunday), but I called today & they are all confused, too. They have always been open on Thanksgiving, but the girl I talked to said now they think they are going to be closed - they are waiting on a call back from their DM to be sure.
  20. No, No, No!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had talked DH into going to pick these things up Thursday morning - now, I will have to go & my kids are out of school - stupid KMart!
  21. Thanks for all the ideas - I bought a series of books (now I forgot what they are & I have wrapped them) and I am thinking about buying a couple of video rockers, but not sure. If I can find out that the new book in the Eragon series is coming out before Christmas, I will get that - we have the first 2. He is reading one of the books in the Inkheart series now. I love to buy books, but his tastes are so different form mine & he is so fickle - he did not like the Artemis Fowl books at all. It may not matter - if the playroom is not cleaned up this week while they are out of school, I am cancelling Christmas!!!!!!
  22. I feel your pain - I have 4 kids and we also buy for all of my cousin's kids - I think I counted 50 some odd people that we absolutely have to buy for (family only) - and of those, at least 24 are kids - ranging from a few weeks old this Christmas to 15 years old - Most are under 10. (7 of them are less than a year old) I buy year round when I find things I like. You had some good suggestions for the girls & some ideas of your own already. For the boys, the Doodle Monsters are cute for the 2 older ones. I saw some Giggle Balls at Wal-Mart tonight that are an elephant & a cow for $6.97 - my oldest son & youngest daughter LOVED those when they were little - we had cats, dogs & I want to say horses, but I could be wrong. Most little boys LOVE flashlights, too for some reason..... Christy
  23. This is the first year there is nothing that I absolutely have to have. I thought about a video chair for my oldest son, but not sure. There are lots of things that I would like to have but nothing that I absolutely need. I am pretty much finished with everyone except my father in law & one nephew. Christy
  24. Our 2 local Wal-Mart stores always have those night owl hourly specials - they call them Manager's Specials & the 2 stores always have different ones. Drives me nuts bc I always want to be at both stores at the same time!!!!! They will NOT PM each other! Usually it is a black & white ad somewhere in the middle of the newspaper itself - not in the circulars. Christy
  25. I am trying to get him to give me some more ideas - for books or magazines - so far, no dice. He likes to read sci-fi or fantasy. He just finished the Lord of the Rings Trilogy & is reading something about dragons (I think). He has most of the stuff mentioned. This kid was an only child/only grandchild until 3 years ago - he is still the only child for his dad's family & the only grandchild. I guess I really should not worry about it being "even" since he has what is more important - a stable family, but we are planning to adopt the other 2 kids as well, so they have us, too..... Maybe a magazine subscription. Dh mentioned the Discovery internet science subscription, so maybe something like that. My MIL is knitting all the kids an afghan & my parents are going to get him a rifle (against my wishes). I think he is getting a new laptop from his other grandparents, etc. So like I said, it is not like he will be without anything - this is just divorced Mommy guilt.......... Christy
