  1. so probably most people will go for the smalls and then get in line for the big items. In otherwords if you don't stay for for at least 6 hours the big deals will be gone. Doesn't sound like it is worth it.
  2. Wow, not even worth my time to go, I was hoping for itunes cards and a smaller tv. Oh well
  3. I think it makes sense. My ds has an ipod and I was debating between the fire or a nook color. I chose nook color because he already has an account for barnes and Noble. since he already has a kindle account, I would go with that. Ipods are nice but too small to play games and watch movies imo
  4. I love the anticipation of waitng for the sales ads, the excitment of standingnin line, the rush when you get a doorbuster, the fun of online shopping but the best thing is knowing. I got the most for my family and the most for my money. Otonoh
  5. The bad thing is that people will line up even earlier. Spoil the holiday. It is a shame, I guess you have to decide if the discount is worth it.
  6. yeah I love the itunes cards, It makes the perfect stocking stuffer and birthday gifts for my sons.
  7. I love the honey Idea. I am a high school teacher, and occasionally I get a gifts, not as common as Elementary teachers. My favorite gifts are the notes from students telling me how much they enjoy the class or have learned. I have saved them all. Once a student gave me a bottle of tequila, it was awkward to say the least since he was a minor and I don't drink and would never think of bringing liquor to work. Not to offend but my elementary school teacher friends tell me they get so many mugs every year that they really don't appreciate the mugs but do appreciate the thought. They tell me that gift cards are the best, most use them to buy things for the class. Homemade foods generally are not a good idea, the food often goes to waste. The thing to avoid the most is the #1 teacher gifts, you can only have so much of them.
  8. I Have to agree , I love my ipad but i think the amazon fire is pretty good too
  9. I am so glad my kids are teens now. I remember back in the day fighting for the original gameboy at Walmart during BF. A mad house, people dove in the bin, it was about 10 deep, I managed to get one because some one was looking for a specific color and was throwing the ones he didn't want to the crowd. I don't know, the toys today just seem so lame compared to when I was a kid.
  10. I predict that the iphone 5 and Kindle fire will not be reduce for christmas or BF and no deals will be available
  11. one word of caution, it happened at my walmart, In WI state law prohibits items being sold for less than what they cost. There were very angry people at my walmart when they couldn't sell some items for the advertised price. Hopefully Walmart will do more research this year.
  12. Would love to see nook color on sale for my son and a dual fuel stove for the house.
  13. They did. I bought itunes cards 35.00 for a$50.00 card
  14. I agree, with the competition there is now, there is no guarantee you will get what you want especially doubles. I bought 2 laptops in July for my kids, they were better than the ones offered on BF last year and the price was comprable. As for ipods, Have you tried the refurbished ones from apple. I bought a refurbished ipad and ipod from them and had no problems. I also got my son a refurbished nook with out problems. Most refurbs have the same guarantee and are a lot cheaper than the sale price. The nice thing about refurbs are they are gone over individually. Not directly off the assembly line where 1 in 1000 are tested. Saying that I would be hesitant of buying a refurbished phone.
  15. kind of feel sorry for her, Is a cart load of cheap merchandise really worth the price she paid. I went to Menards in Wausau a few years ago, never going back. There bargains weren't worth the inability to move in the store and the long and slow check out lines. I don't think stores realize that for every customer they gain, they also lose them, when their stores become chaotic mad houses.
  16. I bought 2 laptops for my kids in July, they were around 50% off and have more power, memory and features than mine. I need to find a nice wireless kodak printer they can share. I am glad I did, money is getting tighter and at least they will have one nice item
  17. my dh just called and picked up 3 kayaks for him and the boys at mills fleet farm, walked in and out. got a free monkey too, LOL I am already done, but may go out later to pick up small things for the stockings. it is 14 degrees with a -6 windchills, I pity anyone standing out all night for a bargain.
  18. thanks, I thought I was missing something

  20. same thing here, I am almost 90% done and wrapped. I may try online for 1 item for myself, but if I don't get it , It will be ok
  21. i see the netbook may be offered. I hope I can get it online. I wonder how many they have, they say 8 in store minimum
