  1. Thanks for the responses guys. I myself camp quite often. In fact our family just spent the weekend camping in Maryland. I wouldn't be able to use our tent though because it is a huge 14 person tent! http://distillery.s3.amazonaws.com/media/2011/10/08/41033f4b111642e282a78e79e1dd0bcb_7.jpg I can see making it an experience with friends, but my friends won't even go stay on the beach in the super tent. I doubt if they'll go for the sidewalk camping thing. lol I'll be sure to pop into the next webcast. I actually just caught up on the previous ones via ustream. Can I still submit answers to the trivia questions?!? Dre
  2. A trick that we have been using to fill out our tree is to get the matching ribbon and bows to place on the tree. Instead of garland we drape the long ribbon pieces from the top of the tree and let it flow to the bottom. Then we fill the empty spaces with bows along with the ornaments.
  3. I have been heading out for BF for many years now and pretty much addicted to the experience. In all of my BF days I can usually line up a few hours prior to the stores opening and I usually grab the main items on my list. My question is (especially for new campers) how do you justify camping for savings while spending on equipment? What is the smallest discount you would wait in line for? In the recent years there just hasn't been that big ticket item at that great a deal that I could see camping for. I ask because I would like to add the experience to my resume, but after adding the costs I would end up spending more than I save. http://www.cartoonaday.com/images/cartoons/2010/11/black-friday-camping-598x461.jpg
  4. Here's a picture of the white tree the first year we bought it. We used it as a second tree and kept the real tree in the family room.http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6227/6255145338_ba72055306_z.jpg
  5. We have had a white tree for a few years now. Every year we switch the color scheme. My favorites so far have been red and clear lights, with red and gold decorations, and last year we did black and shades of blue. I'll try to get a few pics of the different designs. Not sure what we are doing this year.
  6. That's the effect I'm going for. I really want her to be surprised. I can't do the cement pole because it would end up blocking our driveway. I guess I could check to see how large the box the system comes in. That would help with the storing of it.
  7. WOW sorry to hear that. I thought that my DD had bad luck. I think the hardest part for my daughter was missing summer! I have a garage but we use it daily. Our basement is the theatre room, so they are constantly down there.
  8. Thanks all for the advice. Rose- She is doing a lot better now. My original plan was to head to TRU and use there layaway plan. I have to see if they allow the Basketball systems. Brad- I was already looking in our local Dick's and Sports Authority but wasn't really familiar with there BF sales. Do you think it's worth it to wait until then?
  9. Ok so this year the search is on for a Portable Basketball System. DD9 has been playing basketball for about 3 years now and has fallen in love with the game. Everything is basketball inspired now, from her room to her locker at school. Over the summer she was selected as one of the top national players in AAU basketball in her age group. Half way through the second season as she was going for a layup she was pushed and ended up breaking her patella (knee cap) and requiring surgery. She missed out on the remainder of the summer and all of the fall season. The girl is a die hard and is ready to get back out there and the Dr. just gave me the green light to start working her back into our practices. She has told me her wish for Christmas is to play with the team again! Sorry for the long back story, but I haven't really followed the basketball systems in the past and was wondering are there any real steals out there on BF? I'm looking for one of the adjustable 48" sets. Are there any out there you guys recommend? Any I should stay away from? Also if you have purchased one in the past, where the heck did you hide the thing? Thanks in advance!
  10. OFFICIAL: Walmart Black Plastic Keeping My Doorbuster Safe Did I Just Get Bit? FREEBIE: Fingers are Frostbit I still can't feel my big toe But I saved ten bucks!
  11. A Harbor Freight just opened in my area so I'm not familiar with their BF crowd yet. Hopefully I won't have to get there super early because I could use that Laser Thermometer on the last page to measure my press temp for my screen printing biz. At $20 that's a steal!
  12. Glad I could help. How old is DS? There are some really cool games for the Kinect system.
  13. I'm sure come BF they will have the 250gb system with a gift card. I'm guessing it will be somewhere in the realm of $100 since they are offering $75 on the 4gb. This deal is perfect for the casual gamer, but for the full use they almost make it mandatory to get the 250gb model. As long as you get an official HD you should be fine. My biggest suggestion would be to get the warranty. I love the Xbox system, but it is prone to problems in general.
  14. True, but the 250gb hard drives can easily be found online for as little as $60. So $359 total plus the $75 gift card is about $284 for the 250gb Kinect Bundle compared to $399. No camping needed. I know it takes the fun out of the deal though:cool:
  15. Target is offering a deal that may be better than BF prices. Xbox 360 Kinect Bundle for $299 plus $75 Gift Card Target http://akimages.shoplocal.com/dyn_li/280.0.75.0/Retailers/target/EPS_111009_p01_a_b_101802_ec299.JPG
  16. I like the new system. Why wait in the cold if you don't really have to? Our Walmart is a 24hr store, on normal days it's busy. On BF it's packed! Even with the crowd everything ran smooth for the most part. The employees knew where the items were located. They also had maps available for the big ticket items. Inventory for a lot of the HOT items has been good in the past year. In fact the there were a few palettes of the tv's and blu-ray players that were still there until after Christmas. For the smaller items like PJ's and toys they let you shop and add it to your cart as long as everyone was calm. I witnessed no fights, no arguments, and on the most part everyone was helping each other. I've done Walmart on BF for the past 3 years like this and have yet to have a complaint about the system. The one problem I do have is with all the new staggering sale times. You have the midnight, then 5am opening at the Mart. Like 4am at another store. 12am at TRU. I hope the times aren't going to be that way this year, but I'm sure they will.
  17. WOW. Where did you find this useful info? Is it on there site?
  18. It doesn't give any specs or info. It does note that it's wifi enabled. Do if they are just using it to surf the web it would be a good deal. Sylvania is known more for their prices not their quality though.
  19. They actually have a $99 netbook on sale at CVS currently. I wonder if they will be any cheaper come BF?
  20. I saw an add in my local paper for this deal. CVS is offering a 7" Sylvania Netbook for $99. It's red. I'm not sure if that price is regional or not.
  21. I'm thinking about getting that tablet but don't need it. I also was going to get that tv stand from Walmart but just found out its only good for up to 42". Not sure if it will support a 50".
  22. Just wondering if any of these Keurigs popped up in any of the ads for BF so far. It just popped up on my list and didnt want to scan every ad to see if its on sale.
  23. I may be looking into that 7" Android Tablet. Just tryong to figure out which model it is so I can get more info on it. *EDIT it's a sylvania so I'll try to find the specs for it
