I tried something like that last year in the crockpot on low overnight (about 6 hours). YUCK!! Maybe I'll do yours this year and just pop it in the oven.

We do a version of this, but we add crushed candy canes, pretzel pieces, and m & m's.

My DD & her husband, and DS & his wife. However, they each drive their own vehicles and we meet at each place. Otherwise, we'd have to drive a bus to fit all of us and our treasures.

We never walk by a red bucket! We had a house fire once and the salvation army was there before the firetrucks left! They help people all year long.

I just looked at the Sam's one day (Nov. 11) sale ad this weekend. Appears they have 3 HP laptops at good prices that day. Of course my DD wants Dell not HP. I have pics on my phone of the three I'll try and post them.

I only took my sister once because of the same reasons you posted! My kids stayed home with dad until they were old enough to be ok if we got separated and not whine and complain all day (night). Now the grandpa gets the grandbaby too He hates to shop (even grocery shop) he'd rather change a diaper than deal with stupid people, so this works well.

I'm just grateful for any business that participates in BF. If I were to shop there, (none near me) I would love the idea of getting a free tote with a chance to win $100. Reminds me of back when businesses treated you for shopping at their store on BF.

Menards!! No matter where else we have to go or are at prior we always get to Menards by 4:30-5am so we aren’t too far back in the line. When kids were younger they did all their Christmas shopping BF morning at Menards. Love the deals!! Sent from my iPhone using GottaDEAL

Budgeting holiday foods and gifts with 4 weeks between would be hard enough, but Wow 6 weeks between would be horrible.

I have lived all over Michigan and done BF. Some years I've drove in Blizzards, some sleet and ice. Accuweather historical average says upper 20's for the average. This year is saying lows in the mid 30's, no precipitation. I like that forecast. I would much rather wear my sweatshirt and Gottadeal t-shirt over it than a heavy winter coat. If it doesn't change I may just bring a light blanket to wrap up in while waiting outside.

I just was looking at the number of paychecks in the month of Nov. In years with the earlier date there can potentially be an extra paycheck the next week for people.

I personally like when BF falls on the 27th, 28th or 29th verses when it falls on the 23rd or 24th. Do you feel BF is early this year? Or on years it falls on the 27-29 do you consider it late that year?

I do the majority of my shopping in the stores. I love going out with my kids shopping on BF (and wearing my GottaDeal Shirt over my sweatshirt) and then to breakfast. Plus, Menards is always a must and can't do that online.

Maybe you could post pictures of the pieces? Was thinking maybe use the bottom as is and then leave out one of the middle sections and then use the top? Then you wouldn't have to cut it incase you want to use it tall again.
