Target to start their Black Friday sale on Thanksgiving Day!
bribri25 replied to magickallight's topic in 2014
I'll be interested to see how this all plays out for next year. Walmart was SWAMPED; even at 8:15 (I know they had another sale starting at 8:00) and I think all the 6pm busters were sold out. I also think Target's ad wasn't quite up to par this year which may have something to do with the lack of crowd. Plus, with Free Shipping on Target.com with Red Card, that's easier to purchase small items without needing to go into the store. -
Ohhhh, exciting!!!! Did you have to go in an area off in the corner to calm down from the excitement of your coupon? ...And did you at least get a bite of her cookie?
-
I don't remember their site going down so often. They always are notorious for taking many hours to get their site fully live for BF online sale, but not usually so many crashes.
-
Isn't it crazy that sometimes they have TONS of what you're accustomed to them having an average amount? I saw the line of cars going around the building to pick up the items from the back......good grief! that must have been an extra half hour minimum and seemed chaotic.

This probably would have gotten more response over in the Online Discussion sub-forum... Hopefully you got it, though!

I got there around 6:58 with the DD4 & DS3 in tow. We camped out for a whole 30-35 seconds before the doors opened. I figure we were about 80 in line as there were only a few dozen stockings/scratch-offs left to be handed out after us; so if you weren't in line by 7:01, you missed out on those. They could barely restock the pallets on litter on the floor fast enough for how much they were disappearing. Of course there's only about 25 carts for the entire store, so being 80th you can imagine how easily I DIDN'T get one. Knowing the kids wouldn't last just standing around 20 minutes for a cart, I grabbed my 3 tubs (dragging 2 across the floor by the handle and carrying the other) and headed back to cat food. Scratch off: $5 off $50. I had already planned on $35.04 to get the $5 Bonus Bucks, but now had to get another $15 (since it only costs you $10). Grabbed a few extra cans of food, a few cat toys, and another tub of litter. And, oh look, an abandoned cart. Snagged that before my ENTIRE back was useless. Checkout was ridiculous. There was a long line leading up to the registers and I got behind that (like every BF shopper has been trained to do). However, there's also lines coming down each of the aisles leading up to the 4 registers. After 15 minutes of 3 people going through each register and our main line only getting 1 person in, the manager finally goes to direct traffic and funnel our line in front of those that were line-jumping through the aisles. Other than checkout, all went as planned. Oh, and already purchased the aquarium 50% off & filter 50% off with an extra 20% off (due to a leftover coupon ) online Wednesday night for store pickup. I got the pickup email later that morning, but that's fine because I wasn't about to load those items today with the kids with me anyway.

I thought the same thing about the snowglobes! But, it says 2014 on it and counts as the next one in the collection. Lol. .....And was one of the lucky ones to with the $100 jingle coupon!!!! WOOOOOOHOOOOOO. This was my first store of the night and really got things off on the right foot. And pleasantly surprised to see it was good through 12/24 (or something like that). I didn't have $100 of stuff planned out to buy at JCP, so we'll look at sales over the next weeks for what to use it on.

Did you get your tree??

Oh, not a problem for me. Like I said, I wasn't after that one.
-
Nice. Good find. Not worth the $1 savings & hassle of buying this one and returning my 23.99 from BB.com last night.
-
It was very touchy in the wee hours when the sale went live and mobile was the only way in. Haven't been back to BB.com since 3 ish. I can't imagine people are still wearing out the F5 key at 9am, are they?
-
I am expecting the cancellations, but definitely not expecting them to charge for shipping if it drops below. They have to ship the items from different warehouses usually anyway.
-
I wouldn't count Amazon out, yet. Even all day today/tomorrow, they've been known to match the prices of other BF retailers even if the sale has already gone live there and likely already sold out.
-
I don't think so. Somehow they kept it out this year. It hasn't come up on GD anywhere, so I don't think it's going to be coming.

Frozen was in-store only. Got lots of sleepwear. Got Hungry Hippos Had to tack on an extra small appliance to get to $50 so I didn't have double my total price just for shipping... No troubles with checking out; I used Discover Card. The site was painfully slow last night!!! I wasn't really prepared for WM.com as I was shopping other sites for my bigger deals and finding and adding the $4.50 PJs was like pulling teeth. Between searching, picking the color/character, then the size, then adding to the cart, then closing the cart to continue shopping; each one took about 5 minutes total. I thought for sure I'd lose ALL the PJs by the time I checked out (around 3:15 CT).

I saw it there for the longest time when I was getting the $399 laptop. I didn't need that one, though. EDIT: And by "longest time", I mean about 3 hours from 12:30-3:30 am CT....felt like muuuuch longer.
-
That's really unfortunate! Sorry to hear that. I was able to get my aquarium and filter at the advertised price (even $20 more off than advertised) and for in-store pickup. So far, the process was extremely easy to shop petsmart.com (we'll see how pickup goes, but I'll probably go after the big morning rush when the dust settles - I still have to get Tidy Cat Pails and Fancy Feast). I guess the easiness is dependent on your item actually being online, though. Interested to see how many others shop online here today.

The prices are insanely inaccurate all over the place. I finally got both items to stay on sale with the right coupons/discounts to be the correct final price. I'm outta here.... Good luck to everyone else. Which one? There's a few chairs for 79.99 in the ad.
-
Got the printer to go back down. Now, just the laptop.... c'mon give me a 60 second window! EDIT: And then they were both back down; by the time I clicked 'Checkout' both were back up to regular price. UGH!
-
Prices are fixing themselves on and off and can't end up making it all the way through checkout without it going back.... I'll just keep refreshing my cart.
-
I thought it was $150 off, $50 Easy Rebate. It's only showing $50 off and $50 rebate. And now it adds a $43 off coupon in the cart, bur still missing $57 of the discount.

So, my laptop is up on the BUY NOW list; http://i.gottadeal.com/blackfriday/images/layout/camera.gif Toshiba 15.6" Core i5 Laptop w/ 8GB, 1TB $399.99 * http://i.gottadeal.com/blackfriday/images/layout/buynow2.png But, still shows 499.99 on Staples website. I'll try a new browser as a next step.

Neither of my items have hit, yet. This makes me wonder how BB is doing....

And we just rolled over Midnight CT and the 20% seems to still be active. Great way to get some of those BF deals ordered and claimed AND an extra 20% off!
