If it's a great deal and something I want/need, I can't resist buying it. I can't see it on sale for 50% off and then leave it on my xmas list for someone else to buy for me at retail price.... that just makes it sad for me!!

Another vote for newegg. Sometimes Amazon. I think I got 80% of my parts from newegg and the rest were scattered from other places.

I think it has something to do with the size/resolution of the image you're trying to use. I think I ultimately went the URL method and linked it to a URL and then cropped it. You could upload your image to your favorite image upload site and then link to that from your profile and crop the image from there.
